"I retain the information. Somewhere." She finished off what she was eating and stretched her hands up above her head. "You know those times where you seem to know something and have absolutely no idea how you knew what you did? Yep, that's me. Random bits of knowledge spouting everywhere."

Vesta didn't want them to think she was a total slacker because she wasn't. Only when it came to those things that she didn't think she would ever need to know. "Like, when am I ever going to need to find the area circumference of a triangle? Or the history of the bubonic plague?" Pausing there to laugh. "Well, considering this strange place, the second one might be in handy."

"My brother would be great here. He's all into this ma--err. stuff." Could she really call it make-believe when she was sitting in a pub with a talking panther - and anthro he said he was? - a centaur, and a vampire? Not to mention the elves and she could have sworn she saw an ogre or something when she was in town.

"Should see his room. Figurines everywhere and books all over the place. You'd think that he would have been the one that the bus dropped off here. He'd have a ball thinking he was in one of his movies. And the clothes? Ha! Hmm.. I wonder if he is here somewhere?" If he was and she ever came across him she was gonna smack him upside the head. It's a sister-brother thing.

"Figureeens? Mo...moovees. I just don't understand you.... humans. Such a weird race. interesting really. No two alike. Never seen such diversity in a single race before. Amaze me."

She had lost him again ofcourse. He had no clue of her time and the thigsn she spoke about. H came from teh same world she had just a much different time and perhaps even a different dimension. He did not know that anthros were close to extinct and in complete hiding in her time.

Nephalei picked absently at her salad, but she didn't have much of an appetite - if anything, she felt just a tad bit nauseous. She took a bit of lettuce here or there, but she didn't eat much overall.

She listened to the conversation as she ate. She didn't understand what Vesta and Seleen were talking about, either - though it didn't help that her attention was swinging in and out.

Where she came from, school was a place one went to be taught life's lessons - and she didn't understand how that could be stressful.

He looked at Nephalei with concern that his words did not betray. He crossed his arms and smiled almost as if he was sayign he wouldnt take no for an answer.

"You said you want big adventure?"

She was touched by his concern, which was so clear in his face. She gave him a strained smile. "That's not it at all," she said. "It's just, I'm not really fe-"

Suddenly, out of nowhere, there was a intense, stabbing pain in the back of her head. It started at the name of her nape and spread upwards first, in across the back of her skull, then it spread across her shoulders and down her arms, too. Inadvertently, she let out a gasp and a short cry.

That unbelievable, mind-numbing pain didn't last long; probably no more than three seconds. And then it seemed to move back to its starting point and disappear.

And then, she felt fine. Better than before the pain, even.

She stopped, eyes wide, shocked by what had happened, "What," she gasped, "was that?" Forgetting that no one else had felt it, and wouldn't know anyway.

The moment Sky saw her expression change he was going to ask her waht was wrong. Then he saw that intense pain was over her and leapt over to her side. He saw that she was ok but he still showed a lot of concern.

"You ok! What is wrong do you need help?"

"It was just... I had this sudden pain..." She rubbed the back of her neck, where it had started. Nothing; the pain was completely gone. And she was feeling better and better by the second. "But it's gone now and I feel so much better than before."

She frowned, perplexed. She had no idea what that was all about.

He didnt know aht it waqs all about either but it sure shocked him. He had to be a sight with his fur almost completly ruffled out. He didnt look like a giant furball but he also looked nowhere as sleek as he did before. He looked at her back and at hte dress as if it was the offending pain.

"I no see anything Nephalei. That was strange... You really sc...scared me."

He was almsot jsut as shocked on his confession of being afraid. He wasn't used to announcing that esspecially where he came from.

"Me too," she murmured. For a moment there, she thought something really serious was happening to her. She was still a bit shaky.

But...

She was alright now. She was alright now.

"I don't know," she said. "I'll have to find a doctor when we get back, maybe. Just in case."

"Nephalei, do we need to get you back now? There is a healer at the Inn and there are also the God's and Epiphany. Someone there has to be able to help you."

Seleen was very worried. She got up and went over to examione the back of her head to make sure that there were no bruises or cuts or anything to be worried about emediately.

"I see no wounds." She pressed lightly at the back of her skull. "Does this hurt?" She was pressing here and there along where she ahd discribed the pain being. "Was it like a headache ... to centaurs get headaches? Was there a rush of heat or wetness?"

Internal bleeding would have led to the feeling of heat or wetness. She was a little scared herself. She could treat battle wounds to hold one over until they got to the healer, but if it wasn't bruised or bleeding she really couldn't do too much to help.

"Tea, I have some of the pain killing tea in the coach if you need it for like a headache or something." Seleen wasn't used to treating mortals. She knew basic first aide, and she knew mouth to mouth resesitation and the hymlick manuver. But other than that she was truly a novice when it came to helping.

Cad saw how Sky and Seleen reacted and had no wish to get in the way of them tending to her. But he two was concerned. He put down his fork and leaned across the table to reach for her hand. He thought it would be comforting to have a hand to hold. He really was concerned, already these people were getting to him. Back home, he would have just walked on by. It was his arrogance that got him in trouble in the first place, and was the reason he was here in Rhy'Din. He knew how he got here and he knew why he was here. He was running, looking for a safe haven. New Haven sounded like the place to find it. But here he found something more, he found that he actualy cared about someone other than himself. He cared about these people who were to call him friend.

Not that it appeared hse was being helped by someone who actually knew what they were doign and being comforted, Sky trie to play a lot moer calm then waht he previously was. He stepped back looking towards the ground for a moment and perking his ears. He then went back th physically fixing his fur. He was a little shocked and kind of embaressed by his reactions. He took a deep breath, but kept the Centaur very much in the corner of his eye.

(My condolences to being single? Not sure if I should be happy or not? Happy if you are!)

Since she was done, she didn't have to stop eating her food when Nephalie started talking of how she wasn't feeling well. Gum. She was going to get some gum at some point today. Try to find some. It always helped her when she was trying to think.

"It might be nervous shock." With the absence of gum she started chewing on the inside of her cheek instead. "You know, from everything that's happened. The cart in the market running you down, the sudden swarm of people at the Inn, meeting Sky." she wasn't sure when Nephalie had met Sky, but she seemed to know him when they met. "You haven't had time to rest being that you weren't in your room. This whole thing could be a shock to your system and your body hasn't had time to adjust to any of it yet. Or rest from it."

She got the feeling that people might have been looking at her, so she slouched down in her chair a bit. "Come on now. Nervous shock? Post traumatic stress syndrome? I can't be the only one who's heard of it. I could be wrong and it be something else all together."

Seleen had looked over to Vesta. And she agreed with her. "Nephalei, have you not slept since you got here?"

((Happy as a school boy. She had to go, Ike proved that.))

He arched an eyebrow at what Vesta had said. It was then that he realized that he had been staring at her off and on all day. "PTSD? That might be a possablility."

"Po.. P.. ner..... i uh... Don't understand how you put your words... po.... Ah...."

He had no clue what anyone at this point was talking about. The last thing he understood was Doctor and somehow he himself might have been part of the reason why something was wrong. He just decided to go back to doing what he was doing unsure of anything else he could do. He was smoothed out well enough at this point it became apparent it is a nervous reaction for him to groom himself so tediously.

(Huzzah for single-ness!)

She was right, they had all looked at her when she spoke. Except for Cad who was always making glances It wasn't like for Vesta to show a bit of nervousness, but often time she never lent her voice to anything that might cause people to think she might be educated either. There as a reputation to uphold.

"Remember? She wasn't in her room when I knocked on it, but was coming from down the hall or somewhere." Vesta had a rest. A short one, but a rest all the same. She wasn't even sure if Nephalie had napped on the way to the village.

She was a bit uncomfortable with all the attention. She bit her lip, trying to consider all of their diagnoses. "I haven't slept much," she admitted. "I was too...jittery. But it isn't as if I haven't slept at all. I got five hours, perhaps. Maybe a bit less." She shrugged. "I'd certainly gone on with that little before."

She had heard of Post Traumatic Stress, but she didn't know much about it. From what she had heard, it seemed to strike people who had experienced something terrible, like war or the death of a family, or something like that. Given, she didn't know that much about it, but... "You really think that it could be Post Traumatic Stress?" she asked, a bit doubtfully.

Why would SHE get it, and no one else? From what she understood, quite a few people happened to randomly find themselves here.

Though, coupled with a lack of sleep...

Ugh. She sighed, a bit exasperated. "I'm sorry, all of you," she said. "I didn't mean to ruin your day like this, over something that's probably nothing."

She continued to check Nephalei's head and look her over for any wounds anywhere. "Sky, post traumatic stress disorder means that someone has some physical and emotional pains after something very stressfull and traumatising. Like um ... Ok, you go out on a hunt. You catch a rabbit, you eat the rabbit. Well, let's say that the rabbit had babies and they saw you eat their mommy. The will be upset by this, it will be traumatising for them. Now let's say that those bunnies start running around killing things and then crying because of the trauma. That would be a very strong example of PTSD." She realized how scary what she said was after she said it. "Ok, I'm dead, I don't have to rest, so much for the joke about sleeping when dead. But Nephalei, you are mortal, you need rest. Your body requires it. Our day is not ruined dear, your safety is more important than shopping and playing in the castle."

("No! You ate my mother!" -laughing- I'm sorry.. that analogy was so terrible. as in sad, that it's funny.)

A shrug of her shoulders. "Maybe? Could be. Are you use to having traumatic things happen to you? Living in a city sometimes tends to desensitize you to things. As to why I'm not flipping out every time Seleen raises her hand."

She cleared her throat. "You have to stablize your internal energies. Do some relaxing exercises like a warm soak, deep breathing, meditations, and drink lots of water. There are some herbs too but.. ah.. I can't think of them right now." Vesta tapped her chin.

"It can take a while to recover..." and she trailed that off, not wanting to add any negatives.

((I agree, dang woman, no wonder you play monsters so well. Yikes.))

Cad nodded in agreement to all. "We can play in the castle any time." He assumed. "And shopping will be no fun if everyone will not enjoy it, the market will still be here later if you think we should get you back to the Inn."
