Lost with wolves
Some people get themselves into more trouble than they could ever get themselves out of alone. They might not have ever had anything to do with it, or perhaps they had everything to do with it. It might just be something of luck. In any case, the poor boy wasnt thinking about that as he was darting through the woods that he'd found himself in. He was more concerned with the large, snarling wolf that seemed to want to chase the boy's tail far too close for comfort. Sweat was dripping down his forehead as he narrowly avoided a tree branch that tried to take the 8 year old's head clean off. Even in avoiding it his little triangle ears which peaked out of the top of his hair still managed to get nicked. But it wasnt something he could worry about now.
Upon bursting out of the forest, he dropped to all fours and began pushing his speed. While putting a little distance between himself and the wolf, he spotted an establishment and decided it would be safe there. His dealings with humans had always been good. As he neared the Inn, the wolf would peal itself off and begin to head back towards the woods, much to the boy's relief. Panting hard and clothing soaked in sweat, he'd stumble up to the inn's porch and sit down on a step. His white hair shined lightly in the sunlight that beat down upon him. Using his arm, he'd wipe the sweat from his face and watch as the wolf turned around and gave him a little snarl. He'd bare his teeth and hiss in response, then sigh and lean against the step's railing, getting his breath back.

Re: Lost with wolves
Aye, it was true that some could find themselves in messes they could not get out of alone. In fact, it was nearly an understatement when it came to certain people and one who knew it better than most was surprisingly none other than Elessar. The golden haired Elf had gotten himself into many such situations and still carried the scars to prove it.
Past insistences aside, this moment could nearly be declared a miracle for the Elf was not only out of his room, but out of the building as well. It was true he was still on the porch, and therefore not really away from the building, but it was a start.
Now that he was outside for once, the effects of being confined inside were glaringly visible. Elessar had always been pale, though now he seemed more so and the old, worn gray tunic and leggings he currently wore did nothing to improve upon it. The Elf was sitting in one of the wooden lounge chairs, that were scattered amongst the deck, his long legs drawn up towards his chest while one cheek rested against his knee.
He had been there a while; his gray eyes looking out over the grounds to the forest beyond. It was the sound of two bodies ripping through the forest as well as the sudden movement that brought Elessar out of his reverie and his head snapping up. Anticipating an attack he jumped from the chair, slipping two of the throwing daggers from their hiding places and waited.
He didn't have to wait long, though he nearly dropped one of the daggers in surprise at seeing the wolf chasing the boy. But before he could move the threat appeared to be over and the boy was nearly sitting at his feet. Curiosity getting the better of him now, he moved closer towards the steps, glancing down at the head of white hair. "Are you hurt?"

Re: Lost with wolves
The sound of another voice, one that he'd been too tired to see the source of in his scampering up to the inn, made him jump from the step he was sitting on and spin around. He landed a few feet from the porch and looked up to see the Elf that had been there all along. The boy's panting never stopped and didnt seem to be calming yet.
The boy's eyes narrowed upon the man, more specifically, the daggers, as he shook his head from side to side. His lips kept moving in an honest attempt to try to speak, but he simply couldnt get enough breath to form words quite yet.
Almost too tired to stand, he'd finally just sit on the ground, relaxing a little bit more even at the presence of the daggers. After having run for such a long time, he really didnt have the strength to be scared anymore.

Re: Lost with wolves
Ailylaeli was headed back to the Inn from a shop in New Haven. She saw the commotion off in the distance, but couldn't quite make out what exactly was going on. So she quickened her pace to get there a little faster than she would have. She carried her paper bag on her hip with her arm wrapped around it because it was a little heavy.
She saw the wolf heading back to the forest as she got closer. It was then that she noticed the small being at the foot of the steps. He seemed to be looking up onto the porch before he lowered to the ground. She thought perhaps he was exhausted. So she chose to job the last few feet that separated her from the Inn.
After all, she hadn't seen Elessar there yet.
When she arrived by the youngster she looked down at him. Then she looked up to see what had his attention. "Oh, hello, I'm Ailylaeli." Then she returned her attention to the one upon the ground. She offered him the same warm smile that she had offered the elf upon the porch. She reached out her hand to him. "May I help you up?"
She wasn't even sure if this being could speak or comprehend her words, but it was worth a shot. She chose to ask him something else while she waited to see if he took her hand. "What's your name?" Her voice was soft and gentle as she spoke. She hoped that it was making him more comfortable. It was the first thing she thought of.
After all, she wasn't trying to scare him even more.

He was still panting hard when she came up. After an ordeal like what he'd just been through, his breathing probably wouldn't settle for several more minutes. Feline ears heard her approach and told him that she wasn't rushing to attack, so it was probably save. Tired little blue eyes would turn and look to her, wandering up and down her form before focusing on the outstretched hand.
A small paw would be placed into her hand, gripping tightly, he'd pull himself to his feet, with her help. He licked his lips a bit, trying to get a little moisture in his dry mouth so he could squeak out an answer. He managed to softly respond to her question with a dry voice, panting between each word. "I...am...Albino!" His name was spoken with a surprising bit of energy, obviously proud of his name. A tired smile would be offered back to the woman who was being so kind.

Re: Lost with wolves
Ailylaeli leaned back slightly and braced her stance as the offer of help up had been accepted. "Well, Albino, it's a pleasure to meet you. Would you like to come inside and get a room to stay in?" Forward? Perhaps, but after all, she was working off the cost of her room so it behooved her to invite more guests. Her purple eyes looked to the other man for a brief moment.
Once Albino was safely to his feet she slowly released his hand so as not to knock him off balance. She had lost her balance a time or two in the circus and knew how badly it could hurt. She again looked up at the man on the porch. "Ill take care of him if it's alright with you, that way you can stay out here and enjoy the fresh air." She wondered if he was the other elf.
She was sure she remembered that there were two male elves.

Re: Lost with wolves
"Umm, I...umm," he sputtered quietly. The poor boy wasnt really sure what to do. From previous interactions, he knew that humans normally exchanged coins for services and places to stay. And he had none. He would nod and continue his sentance. "umm..I..dont have...any coins." His gaze traveled to the ground as he wished he did have some gold to pay for a room and some food. At this point, he'd realized he was awefully hungry. Leftovers and hunted food were never as good as food that was prepaired by the cook.
His gaze would drift back to the Elf that had first confronted him at the Inn. Nothing more was said, but he found himself wondering if the man would have saved him from the wolf, had it continued following him. With so much to wonder, food crept back to mind and he began to wonder when it would be time to eat.

Re: Lost with wolves
Ailylaeli smiled at the young man. She had been there herself when she came here, so she fully understood. "That's ok, we'll work something out." She wasn't sure what someone so young could do to work at the Inn, but she was sure that there had to be something.
She pulled an apple from the top of her sack and offered it to him. "Hungry? I can ask the chef fix you something more when we get inside." She figured he might be hungry. She headed up the steps, offering an apple to the other elf as well, and then went inside.
All Albino had to do was join her.

Re: Lost with wolves
Being offered an apple, he'd quickly take it with both hands and begin feverishly munching on it. It wasnt something that he would normally be eating, but he surely wasnt going to turn it down now that it'd been offered to him. Especially since it was edible. He'd offer a "thank you" softly between bites, remembering his teachings from Miss Anne about manners. It'd been a while, so he couldnt remember everything, but he knew he was supposed to thank someone for giving him something.
While eating, the boy would follow Ailylaeli up the stairs and towards the doors for the inn. He began to wonder what this place was going to be like, and if he'd find any friends here. Quickly, he reminded himself that he wasnt intending on staying more than a night or two for fear of bringing his curse to these people as well. Still, one night with food and shelter couldnt possibly do any harm.
Once inside, his eyes would instantly begin to wander about the inn. His thoughts of leaving began to vanish from his head for the time, being replaced with thoughts of all the things he wanted to touch and play with. Still, he instinctively continued to eat the apple and follow the nice woman that was leading him.

Re: Lost with wolves
Ailylaeli headed over to the desk to help Albino check in. She set her bag down on the counter and pulled out the books and the papers. "These papers state that you are being given a room and that you will take care of it while you are here. Everything has to be as close to 'as it was' when you took possession, as possible, when you return your key."
She offered him a pen to write with. "Just make your mark on the page, there are people who are here who can help you figure out a way to pay. Payment is due at check out. You have a choice of a room with or without a private bath." She would wait for him to choose with or without a bath, ad she made sure he signed the paper.
After all, that is what they were supposed to do, right?
Once his paper was signed she would smile and give him a key to either a room with, or a room without a private bath. "If you'll follow me, I'll escort you over to the bar area, you will get more help there. If you have any questions I am sure they would be able to help you. And I will inform the chef that there is a patron who wishes to eat."
It wasn't like Ailylaeli to be so rushed when helping a customer. But she had been sick so much since she had ended up here, and she could feel her stomach churning again. She offered Albino a seat at the bar. "Someone should be with you at any moment." She headed behind the bar and into the kitchen to find another employee.
She really just needed to get to her room.
((I am so sorry, but from what I have seen, this is not the place for me. You may count me amongst those who choose to leave after this mess that has occurred. It's been nice playing with you all, goodbye.))
