The Simple Wanderings of an Elf in White

[Gwendolan]

Gwen kept looking at the garden and looking at Manny. Hopper was following after them running around in circles. Gwen kept smiling and was soon laughing. When she laughed her voice sounded like bells tinkling in the air. She moved through the garden and into the forest.

About fifty feet into the forest Gwen stopped and placed her hand on the tree. She closed her eyes. She stood there for about five minutes the look on her face one of complete calm. The breeze was picking up her hair and blowing it around. There was moonlight filtering in through the trees catching in her hair and making it shine like gold.

She took Manny's hand and pressed it against the tree her hand over his. When that was done it put them very close to each other. He would be able to rest his face against hers if he wanted to.

"Close your eyes, and listen. I can help you hear the forest."

She closed her eyes again and a very soft glow surrounded her hand as she touched him. He would feel a warm tingling sensation. If he chose to listen he would faintly hear voices, he would not be able to clearly make them out but there were there. The voices of the forest. After a couple minutes she opened her eyes and the glow about her hand stopped. She turned her head up and looked at Manny.

"Did you hear it?"

Her voice was a soft whisper.

Manny watched as she placed his hand on the tree. He closed his eyes and tried to focus using his other senses. The first sense that came fourth was his sense of touch. He could feel the bark of the tree. He could feel the warmth of Gwendolan's touch. He could feel the blood pulsating through her hand. He could feel the slightest shake of the tree and the ground.

The next sense to strengthen was his sense of smell. As close as Gwendolan was, he could smell her. The scent of her hair, and her skin. Even the smell of her breath. It was almost intoxicating. He could smell the tree, then more tree's. Smell the grass and some animals. He even caught a whiff of something not so pleasant. So he leaned in to get a better smell of her hair. He wanted this to be a good memory, that bad smell would have changed that.

He opened his mouth and took in a deep breath. He let the air dance upon his taste buds. He could taste something sweet. He was so tempted to find what that was, but he had to concentrate. He could taste the tree's and the grass, and yes, he knew those tastes. He could even taste the dirt, he knew that one too.

Finally his sense of hearing kicked into over drive. He could hear the wind blowing through the trees, but that was easy. He listened harder. He had to close his mouth. He had a feeling that the taste of something sweet was the same as the smell, it was her. Once his mouth was closed he could hear better because his mind wasn't on taste. He could hear small animals scurrying about. Somewhere off in the distance was a slightly larger animal.

He continued to listen and he could hear Gwendolan's heart beat. He smiled, he couldn't help it. He now knew how a vampire felt, well, sort of. He understood the hearing of pulses. He could hear something else too. Sounds, from the animals. Not just the scurrying, no, this was something else, something more. it was like ... Like ... Chatter, the animals were talking. He smiled even more now, he could hear the animals talking to each other. It was amazing.

She opened her eyes and looked up at him, he opened his eyes and looked back at her. She whispered to him as their hands were still on the tree. He smiled at her, they were still so close, and she smelt so good. He whispered his answer to her while they were mere inches apart. "That was ... Amazing." He slowly closed the distance between them and closed his eyes again slowly. He gently touched his lips to hers for the briefest of moments.

Realizing what he had done he stepped back and pulled his hand from under hers. "Oh God's Gwendolan, I am so sorry, I don't know what came over me." He had his head hung as he blushed and turned so that she was facing his side rather than face to face. He was silently cursing himself for what he had just done. He was ready for her to lay into him and start hitting him again.

[Gwendolan]

She had been trying to concentrate on the sounds of the forest But Manny was there so close to her. She felt his breath on her face. She heard and felt the same things he felt. She heard the tree, the voices, only for her she could hear the words the animals were saying. She was so in tune with nature that all she had to do was close her eyes and all that he was hearing was instantly there.

She could smell his scent, she could hear his heart, his was beating just a little faster. He smelled good he smelled like spices and the outdoors.

She looked into his eyes as he spoke to her.

"It is amazing, nature is amazing."

She saw him close his eyes again and then he was kissing her. Just a soft gentle brushing. It was over almost before it had started. It shocked her, what shocked her more was that she had not tensed up or try to pull away. She had no desire to hit him.

When he moved away from her she looked at him for a moment. gathering words in her mind. She placed her hand on his arm.

"Manny you have nothing to be sorry for. Will you kiss me again?"

She was blushing but there was a soft smile on her face.

Manny looked up and over at her. Had he just heard what he thought he had? She wanted him to kiss her again? He slowly turned to face her, and as he turned his arm that she did not have a hold on rose up. His hand was placed upon the side of her face and he leaned in closer to her. He gently touched his lips to hers and let them linger.

Then, without moving his head from hers, he whispered. "You are so beautiful Gwendolan." His lips touched hers again a few times before parting her lips with his own. He slowly let his tongue brush her lips softly. Then he moved his tongue even further into her mouth and touched it to her tongue. He pulled his tongue back and whispered into her mouth. "Breathtakingly beautiful." Then his lips made full contact with hers.

He was hesitant as he closed his mouth over hers and once again slid his tongue into her mouth. This time he slid his tongue along hers. His hand slid from the side of her face around to the back of her head. His other arm would slide within her grasp and he would place this hand upon her back so that he was now holding her close while he slowly, deeply, kissed her again.

[Gwendolan]

Gwen thought Manny might actually just leave, but he didn't he turned to face her. She smiled up at him as his hand touched her face. She locked her blue eyes onto his as his lips jently brushed hers.

He was speaking to her but she bareley heard the words. Her lips parted when she felt his tongue. A small shiver went through her as thier tongues touched.

He has said she was beautiful before but this; this was different. He was then pulling her closer. Kissing her deeply, passionatly. She felt his fingers on the back of her head in her hair, she was remembering the night they met, he had brushed her hair for her. Her eyes closed as her arms moved to wrap around him holding him close. She let everything else around her fade. There was just Manny, herself and the kiss they were sharing.

Their kiss continued, eternity could have been wrapped up in that kiss. Their tongues caressing each others, their lips dancing together, their arms holding each other close. Manny had not felt these things in so many years. He had thought he would have never felt them again. But he did, here, now, with Gwendolan. It was magic.

When he finally broke that kiss he continued to hold her close. At first he rested his forehead against hers, then he lifted his head and held her head to his chest. He wanted to ask her a question. It would sound so silly to others ears, but he was old fashioned and he believed such things should be done right. So he took a deep breath and spoke.

"Gwendolan. Back on Earth, humans used to have this way of relationships. People would get to know each other by dating. I believe the time we have been spending together could be considered that. The next step after they have gotten to know each other, if they like each other, they move on to what used to be called 'going out'. Then the woman calls the man her boyfriend, and he calls her his girlfriend. Some people move onto this step by just saying it is so. But it used to be that they man would ask. As I am doing now. Gwendolan, will you go out with me, be my girlfriend?"

Manny had never been more nervous in his life. Well, maybe save for the day he asked his ex-wife to marry him. His heart pounding in his chest would give away how nervous he was. What if she said no? What if she laughed at him? What was he thinking? No, that one he knew. He was thinking that she was a wonderful woman who he liked very much and who he wanted to spend more time with. Yes, that was what he was thinking.

[Gwendolan]

Gwen was so lost in the kiss they shared she never wanted it to end. The dancing of lips and tongues, his being so near, he smelled so good. She was committing this moment to memory, something she would never forget.

When he broke the kiss he would hear her sigh. The only reason she was still on her feet is because his arms were still around her holding her. When he moved his head and held hers to his chest she closed her eyes and listened to his heart beat.

She listened to his words she was a bit confused but thought she had the general understanding. She chose her words carefully. Her head never left his chest.

"I am not sure I fully understand, but I know that I have enjoyed this past month more than any since my daughter was born. We... that is me; there is nothing like this among my people. If being your girlfriend means what I think it means then yes, I will be your girlfriend."

She knew he was nervous, she could hear his heart beating in her ear. She was still nervous herself, she still did not react well to being around a lot of people. People from earth might call her a wall flower. She was worried that she would disappoint Manny, she didn't know why but she had no fear of him hurting her. There was just something about him.

Manny smiled. Her words were like music to his ears. She said yes. He wanted to run around shouting and turning cartwheels. He was so very happy. He hugged her tighter and kissed the top of her head. "I am so happy that you said yes." He was, he was ecstatic.

[Gwendolan]

He was happy and that made her happy. She wrapped her arms around him and held him close. A smile crossed her lips as he kissed the top of her head.

They spent the rest of the night in the forest exploring the woods. Well most of the night was spent at the waterfalls. Gwen felt peace here. They sat not speaking side by side. She had her head on his shoulder.

They were back at the inn before sunrise. Gwen gave Manny a soft kiss as she went into her room and shut the door.
