Is it green yet

[Inion]

Inion and her little troop stood around the bar trying to figure out just how to transform it into a pub for one night. They of course wanted Joseph's input in things, this was his idea to begin with.

There they were the three wild irish roses, opening delivered boxes and moving tables and chairs, and setting up the bar. The staff Inion had brought from her pub was there helping out. One of those staff member was a very big guy whos main job was to keep people out until everything was ready. Taking a break to eat, they sat around putting together the party gifts and going over the ideas for the night.

Joseph went from Inion's room, back to his own. He had boxes to carry down to the bar area where the ladies were decorating. He got the first two boxes down and smiled at the lovelies. "Give me just a few minutes to get these down here lasses." He immediately headed back up to get more boxes. He continued until they were all down in the bar.

Then he started digging in the boxes. The first box contained arm bands, head bands, two different styles of feather boa's, and green neck ties. There was enough of everything he had for everyone within the Inn to take what they wanted. He took a solid green boa and placed it over Fia's shoulders playfully.


The next box he opened contained hats. Several hats. As he took them out he noticed that some had only one per style, others there were two or more per style. He chuckled as he pulled out a green chef's hat. "Armandeus might like this one." He put it on the table. If Ar wanted it, he was welcome to it. In fact, everyone was welcome to a hat. There were twenty-five different styles after all.


When he opened the third box, it had glasses. He walked over to the bar with it. He unloaded the beer mugs for the green beer. And then there were shot glasses for the Irish Whiskey. There were so many glasses, that everyone could get one of each, even if they had no plans of using it. He chuckled as he read the shot glasses. 'Green tongues are sexy', it reminded him of something. "Inion, what are the people who have we ones supposed to do? All the employee's are supposed t' come down an join the party" It was a thought. There were also a lot of can koozies, for insulating cans of Guinness if desired.


Then he opened another box. It had beer goggles in it. He also found some green suspenders. As he removed those items he found several strands of beads. Some with shamrocks, some with beer mugs, some as big as billiard balls, and even some as big as grapefruits. There were cauldrons of beads as well. Then, there they were. The lighted lei's. Now it was official, everyone could get leid at the party.


Everything was put out now from Joseph's boxes. He smiled as he looked at the collection. It was quite a bit. He knew he would have to grab a nap before the party. He was after all, only human. So he went over to where the lovelies were having fun. "Is there anything else I can help with? I'm going to go take a nap and a shower before the party once we're done." He grinned and even winked at Fia again.

They watched him unpack athe boxes and pickeed through the things, giggling once in a while. Fia played with the boa being silly with it. at the mention of the wee ones coming to the party Inion had to think a moment "we could set up a babysitting service for them in the lounge, Juliet doesn't really want to to the whole party thing her and her friend could watch the little ones" She nodded t him when he was done unpacking the boxes and talked about taking a nap. "ok we can finish up here you rest I have a feeling you are going to be busy later." she gave him a wink.

It didn't take very long for the girls to finish getting the bar ready and when it was done, they sat down to admire their work. It really did look like an Irish pub, dark wood everywhere, banners, flags and shamrocks. There was even a chalkboard with a menu of pub grub in case people got hungry. A list of offered drinks, which of course was a few very good irish whiskeys, Guinness seemed to be the main beer with only a couple of pale beers offered and of course the main attraction of green beer.

They set out pots of necklaces and glow braclets, making sure that the ones Joseph had brought were there too. Along with these were all the hats.

They set up a table with all the party gifts they had brought in for everyone, some silly things and some nice things.

They even decorated the patio outside the bar.


The last thing they set up was the bar adding the glasses Joseph had brought down with a few of thiers. all of which could be taken home.



Inioin double checked her staff making sure they were ready and knew their jobs for the night. The waitress had changed into the costumes she had gotten them,
and the bartender had his outfit onand then there was Jake the bouncer in his kelt.

Inion and the girls headed up to her room to get ready knowing that the staff can take care of everyone while they got ready. But just before going up the stairs they left a large pot with t-shirts in it and a note.

The open sign was placed on the bar's door and music could be heard coing from inside. the band Inion had hired was setting up.

Joseph woke from his nap. He got in the shower and then got out to get dressed. All the other men had gotten in from their other things and were getting ready now too. Joseph had gotten them all t-shirts of the same shade of green. They were all going to look like an Irish drinking team. Joseph was thrilled.

He was the first one out of the room with his blue jeans and green t-shirt. He had grabbed up the sign he had made that gave the history of St. Patrick's Day on his way out. He was ready to get his green on.


Andrew was the next one out of the room. He too was wearing blue jeans with his green t-shirt.


Then came Isah. He took a moment to ponder going to Kyra's room to see if she was coming, but he thought twice. If she showed, she showed. He was not going to push.


William came out next. He was ready to party and have some fun.


Keven had been looking forward to this night. He could get smashed if he wanted to. He was off tomorrow.


Manny came out next. He went next door to Emilia's room. Manny had a date.


Paul was right behind him as he exited the room.


Shamus was the next out the door.


The last one out was Ivan. He closed the door behind himself.


Manny knocked on the door to Emilia's room. he held an egg shaped trinket box in his hand. It held a necklace for Gwendolan so that she would be wearing some green.

The other eight men headed down to the bar. When they got down there, Joseph put up a stand just inside the party area, and he placed a sign upon it. Then they headed to the bar. Inion had added glasses and decorations. It was great. Her glasses were allowed to be taken with the guests when they left. Shamus put out some large gift bags for people to put their lute in when they were ready to leave.

A green beer was ordered and the party began.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY HISTORY

If you are a true American, than you are most likely a mongrel like everyone else. If you are a mongrel, than you probably have some Irish blood in your past. Hell, I consider myself Italian...and I'm still 25% Irish. There are very few pure-blooded people in the United States of America from the "old country". Considering that most of us have a bit of the old "Erin Go Bragh" in our veins, there is no reason at all why each and every one of us shouldn't enjoy a green-tinted beer on St. Patrick's day while we smile and listen to the bag-pipes play.

There are some myths and legends about St. Patrick's Day that need to be banished into the realms of Urban Myth where they belong. As a race of partial Irish descendent's, I demand that we educate ourselves on the bits of history of which we are all horribly ignorant. Don't you want to know why you're getting smashed on March 17th this year? Of course you do. Get ready for your history lesson.


St. Patrick was born sometime around 385 AD, probably somewhere near Wales. That's right. St. Patrick was originally British. He was born as the son of a Roman official, and was taken prisoner by sea-faring raiders. He was sold into slavery in Ireland and began a very lonely career as a sheep-herding slave-boy that lasted for six years before he had a vision from God telling him to escape.



St. Patrick escaped to Britain where he promptly had another vision from God, where the people of Ireland begged him to return to help them. He went to France to study seminary, after which he returned to the Emerald Isles to spread the Good Word of God.

St. Patrick spent the last 30 years of his life there, involving himself with fervent activities that furthered human interests before the term was even thought of. He baptized pagans and ordained hundreds of priests into the Catholic faith. He oversaw the construction of monasteries and worked to abolish horrible, pagan practices (such as human sacrifices and slavery). Because of St. Patrick's administrations, it only took 200 years for Ireland to convert to Christianity and was the only example of non-violent conversion in all of Europe.

There are many things that St. Patrick did not do, that many people believe that he did. There was never a time when St. Patrick chased any reptile of any kind out of Ireland. There were never any snakes in Ireland. It is sometimes believed that chasing the snakes out of Ireland is an analogy for driving paganism out of the country. He also never made the comparison of the Holy Trinity to a shamrock, which was actually credited to someone in the 18th century. Of course, St. Patrick never had a personal conversation with God to bargain Ireland's freedom for all eternity. Don't be so gullible, Guinness lovers.

Since St. Patrick's exploits are very minimally recorded, he has become a symbol for anyone who can make up a believable story about his mythos. Catholics tout his accomplishments with the Catholic Church while Protestants dress him up as a Celtic monk who developed his own anti-Roman church. It is shameful that there are more untruthful stories about the history of St. Patrick than there are real facts about him.

For a millennium, Ireland has celebrated St. Patrick's Day festivities with a humble meal after Mass services. It took good 'ol America to turn St. Patrick's day into the alcohol drenched drink-fest that it is today. The first St. Patrick's Day parade took place only 16 years after the Declaration of Independence was signed. Most of the Irish in America at that time were members of the Protestant Middle Class, and fit into society quite well. It wasn't until the Great Potato Famine of 1845 that Irish prejudices flared up because of the newcomers' thick accents and Catholic faith. During the St Patrick's Day celebrations during this time, people looked down on the way the Irish took to the streets and reveled with booze and partying. This was the time when St. Patrick's Day stopped being such a religious occasion and started resembling what it is today: a massive party. The media made a point to deride these activities and depicted Irish revelers as little more than drunken monkeys in the street.

The poor, lower class of Irish had trouble finding jobs and the vast majority of immigrants lived in poverty and squalor. It took time for the Irish community to come to the realization that they held value to society, because of their vast numbers. They organized themselves and showed the political arena that they had the ability to tip elections how they pleased. Politicians began taking an interest in Irish relations and the political "green machine" was born. This is when St. Patrick's Day celebrations started having wider recognition among the community because of the political interest involved in them as politicians catered to the Irish and participated in the parades and feasts. The crowning point of Irish political strength was in 1948 when President Truman attended the New York St. Patrick's Day Parade.

America, Canada, and Australia are the biggest celebrators of the holiday, with minor observances in Japan, Russia, and Singapore. Ireland has always observed the holiday in strict religious terms, even mandating that pubs be closed on March 17th. Recently, Ireland has decided to use the holiday to spur tourism. Over a million people attended Dublin's St. Patrick's Day celebrations over a long, multi-day event that featured parades, concerts, and fireworks.

So this St. Patrick's Day, have a beer. Enjoy yourself and quit worrying about work the next day. It's quite possible that your boss is Irish too, and he's probably more hungover than you are.

Gwen was a bundle of nerves. What had she been thinking? True she liked Manny, and after her talk with her daughter she knew that he was well liked but just about everyone. Her daughter aproved, her granddaughter aproved, and here she was still having second thoughts. She shook them off and spent the early evening getting dressed.

Gwen took a bath in oils Emilia had brought her, it reminded her of being out in the forest, they had a very light woodsy scent with floral undertones. She got out and brused her hair out. She was looking over the different hair ornaments and pulled out a simple pewter hair slide. Copper Celtic love knots formed four shamrocks with heart shaped leaves, in the center of it was the same in miniture.



She already had her dress out and on the bed. White lace over white velvet with a cream colored belt. At the elbows the lace of the sleeves flared out.



She put the dress on and pulled just the front of her hair back to be put into the slide the rest she left free.. She was just finishing running the brush through her hair one last time when there was a knock on the door. She stood and opened the door. She looked up at Manny and smiled.

"Thank you for inviting me, I hope.."

Ok here she was already stumbling over words.

"Thank you."

Kyra decided she didn't want to deal with the wings tonight so she was going to try out her other form, the one she tried out at Christmas time. However, this time she has a better reign on it and could keep it even when she got a little nervous but heavens forbid she gets scared because the outfit she was in fit this body not her fairy form and she wouldn't want to be exposed in front of everyone. The dress she chose was a black halter type dress that left little to the imagination as to what was underneath and given the shortness of it she had to choose the undergarments carefully which would be her little secret unless she ever decided to share it with someone and she work black open toed heels. Her hair was naturally a little curly but she put some extra little curls, her face was lightly painted to the point you would have to wonder if she was wearing any make up at all. Once she was ready she placed a green beaded necklace that held a shamrock on it around her neck. The woman at the boutique she had gone to said it was for luck and knowing Kyra she needed all the luck she can get. Looking in the mirror to make sure she wasn't forgetting something she let out a breathe and headed down to the bar. Once she got to the bar she was feeling unsure of herself but decided to go in anyway. What is the worst that could happen tonight....she would be told she would have to join the other party with the wee ones and teens? That wouldn't be so bad either but she was going to try this one first. Going in she looked around and saw the employees were there but for now she was going to avoid people all together and would go sit on a stool alone. She surely wasn't going to press a particular issue tonight because she was pretty sure she knew where things stood with Isah and she wasn't going to take a chance on pushing him away further but if he wanted to talk she would talk. She did her best not to act like she was nervous but somethings were hard to break the habits of so she started fidgeting a little with her necklace.

Somewhere, there was a party to be found.

Somewhere, people were drinking.

Somewhere, there was a lovely lass waiting to be bounced on his knee.

Somewhere, was here - the Tel'Ranaemyn Inn. This spot was getting a bit of a reputation from talks of the people in the City. This wasn't your average run of the mill Inn where stayed the average Joe, all manner of people were here and you know what they were being known for? Money. Seems like the folks here in this place liked to do a little flashy-flashy with the coins and people take notice. Money talks. It even sings if the key is right.

The fella made his way to the Inn, even managed to keep the shine on his black boots as he walked up that dirt path. Just as he thought, there was a party going on in there! Skipping up the steps this young buck popped the collar on his dark green polo shirt and into the Inn he went.

Sounds of merriment were heard from the bar and therefore he bypassed the front desk and headed straight for the bar. As he got closer what did he see - besides lots of green - but a lovely young lass sitting on a stool. He couldn't quite see her face but the view of the backside was more than enough to take his attention. And she wasn't wearing much green! Not that he could see.

A flick of his wrist and he had himself a good ole green irish hat in his hands. He approached the lass who was sitting all by herself, sliding himself into the stool next to her and placing the hat in the space between them. "I do think I ought be arresting ya for the crime ya do be committing." A hint of accent in his tone as he smiled at her with a boyish grin.

Kyra turned to the voice that was speaking and then looked around to see who he was talking to but then it hit her he was talking to her. She wasn't sure if she should be talking to him considering he was a perfect stranger and once upon a time she was warned not to talk to strangers but she was in a safe place and figured what the heck live a little and have some fun...what is the worst that could happen. A shy grin crossed her lips as she looked at the man sitting next to her and the attire he had on and thought perhaps she was under dressed. A soft voice came from her as she spoke to him.

"And what crime am I committing?"

She was curious but a bit nervous at the same time because she didn't want to be carted off to whatever this place has for a jail.

Manny smiled at Gwendolan. "You look beautiful." He opened his hand and held it out to her palm open. There was a lovely felt egg in his palm. "A gift for you, though I fear it will pale in comparison to your beauty." He couldn't take his eyes off of her.


Gwendolan would take the egg and open it to find a four leaf clover encased in glass. It was made into a gold pendant and hung from a gold chain. He took the chain and pendant from the box and placed it around her neck. Then he offered her his arm and they headed down to the party.

Meanwhile, down at the party ...

Kyra arrived after the men got in there. Isah recognized her from Valentine's Day. He watched her from where he stood with some of the other men. He took a drink from his green beer while he saw her go over and sit down. He pulled his attention back to the men for a moment. But he'd be damned if she wasn't a distraction, especially in that dress.

He excused himself and walked over to grab up one of those gift bags from the table.He started filling it with the party favors from the tables for her. He was placing them gently into the bag as he went along.


There was a bucket of beads and a bucket of chocolate included in the things in her bad. There was a princess cowgirl hat that he thought would look good on her.


He also grabbed up a strand of beads with a light up shamrock, a green and white feather boa, and a light up lei. He walked over to where she was and looked over at the man who had joined her. He was standing behind her silently as he slipped the lei over her head. Then he placed the hat gently upon her head so as not to mess up her hair. Then he put the boa over her shoulders.

This whole time he watched the man who was talking to her. When he put the boa in place he didn't release her shoulders. Instead he leaned over to the left and kissed her cheek. But his eyes never wavered from the one sitting across from her. He wanted to cover her up and send her to the kids parry. But he had more respect for her than that. Instead he set the bag down at her feet and walked away leaving her to her new friend.

Manny and Gwendolan walked into the Irish Pub.

Gwen smiled at Manny.

"It is beautiful, thank you."

She let him put it on her. She didn't know if it was the talk she had with Emilia or just that it was time. What ever it was she did something compleatly out of character. She kissed Manny on the cheek and then took his arm as he led her down to the bar.

Cassie got the twins ready. She had a costume for Natalie and a t shirt for DJ.





Why was DJ not wearing a costume because all the ones for boys looked horrible.

There was even a costume for Kjay, yes the kids thought it would be cute to dress him up. While they were putting the items on him he took it in stride.



Cassie was not wearing a costume but she was wearing green. It was a very pretty green dress. It was gatheres at the top and crossed over the breast down to the waist.



She took the children to the kids party and in the lounge and then went to the bar.

[Emilia]

Emilia was in high spirits. Spring was coming and there was a party planned for St Patricks day. She had the perfect dress picked out. It was a green satin halter style only the part that went up around her neck was like a spagettie strap with little rinestones in it. around the brests it was interesting criss cross designe and there was nothing there at the waist on the sides. She chose some pretty celtic jewlery to ware with it.



Iluvenis was dressed in a green fairy costume only her wings were real.



She took her to the kids party in the lounge and watchedd as she ran over to Nat and DJ and then went to the bar.

She saw the employees standing off to one side and went over to them.

"Hello boys."

Tasha got up and got dressed. Joseph had told her abut the party. So she put a emerald studded collar on Leviathan, and slipped into a green dress. The heels she had that matched it were covered in gold studs. She had matching earrings too,and a glittery clover necklace. Once she was dressed she ran a brush through her red hair and they headed down to the bar. It was time to drink like she was Irish. With that red hair, she just might be.

The 3 Irish roses were dressed and ready. They headed down to the bar and peeked in, glad to see a few people already there.

And the last to enter was the pale rose, her outfit was most definitly not her usual tame style, it was a night to have fun, even if her angel was away on business.



Fia went over to Joseph and gave him a bump with her hip, "so ya gonna get a lady a drink?" she smiled at the other men. While Aryanna smiled at the men also

Not a shy man at all was he and so the other man - tall, dressed as he was an bearing gifts - didn't seem to phase him one bit at all. This young lass here seemed to be the only one about (though he could have been missing the others) and perhaps this man was doing a service. All the ladies that would be walking into this shin-dig of a party may be graced with such favors.

While this lass was given her gifts and a kiss on the cheek - hey these folks here were friendly, he liked that - he saw that more people were arriving. Females to be exact, bless his heart. All of them were dressed in slips of outfits too. The rumors about this place had to be right. Perhaps he could find more than one lass to bounce. Their increasing numbers sought to round out the numbers as it were, no harm in gracing the pub with the sight of more females.

The lass he first spoke to -Kyra - wasn't being taken from him and she spoke to him - score on both ends. Taking his hat in his first two fingers, he gave it a twirl and plunked it down atop his mop of brown hair. "Aye, ya had been commitin' the crime o' not wearin' 'nough green." A tip of his head to the gent who decked the lady in green. "But that gent thar gave ya redemption. Else I would 'ave 'ad to pinch ya." A threatening idle comment in play, but it was demonstrated by his lean towards her and the pinching of the air with his fingers.

[Ha'Ruil]

He was laying in the bed and his stomach started to grumbled.

"Well I guess it is time I got something to eat."

So with that he got up and started to walk down stairs. He heard music going on downstairs.

"I wonder what is going on down there."

He took the last step down to the bar and looked around it. He saw a lot of people wearing green.

"Well I guess I am dressed for what ever occasion it is."

So he started to walk over to the bar.

Inion slipped behind the bar for a moment to double check with the staff that everything was alright, then moved out to the floor to say hello to some of the others that were there. She stopped "Good eve lady Casandra, You look lovely tonight." She gave a nod to Emilia she hadn't really met the lady "good evening, I dont believe we have met yet, I am Inion."


(oh yea so ya all know cause i am ditzy the waitresses and tender can be played npc by anyoone if ya'll wish ;-) )

Venis and Kahn were going to join the festivities and see how long it took for them to tie one on. Venis was in a rare mood, she was planning on showing some flesh. Kahn chose to wear jeans and a t-shirt. But Venis' outfit was a little revealing. So much so that she was showing some ink, and the green Celtic heart pendant she was wearing too. More specifically, the tattoo she got the night before Thanksgiving. So the pair got dressed and headed down to the bar.

[Shuda Darkite]

He was walking around their room waiting for Seleen to get done. "Sweety you look fine and the party is probably already starting" He stated with his arms crossed. He had on a pair of loose fit black denim pants, a pair of black boots and a black t-shirt.

Seleen laughed from within the bathroom. "Sorry honey, I had to be careful with the zipper." She stepped out of the bathroom in a vintage Italian lace dress. It was shorter than she was used to, but she loved the fit. "So. What do you think?" She had kept the dress hidden from Shuda until she had it on. She wanted it to be a surprise. She stepped into her heels and handed him her necklace to put on her.

Once that was done, they could leave for the party. They headed down the stairs and went over to the bar. She loved the way it looked like an authentic Irish pub. She even took a minute to read the sign about why they were celebrating. She saw all the goodies and smiled. "Look love, party favors." She picked up a lei and put it on Shuda. "Guess you are getting leid already." She laughed then, they were going to have fun tonight.

He just laughed at her. "Yes I guess so huh?" He kissed her on the nose. "So lets have some fun." He escorted her to the bar. Looking at what there is to eat and drink.

This had always been one of her favorite holidays. Instead of wearing her usual green priestess dress, she decided to mix things up a bit. She took a shower and pulled her long hair in under a hairnet and put on a blonde wig. She then pulled out a Irish wench costume she had found on earth. Satisfied with her appearence. She made her way to the party. She saw the room was getting quite full, and she made her way in.
