((Warning: Cuss word alert. In Drow mind you, but I'm not going to translate it. Suffice it to say that it's THE cuss word. A lot of the employees have learned to cuss in languages other than English because it offended less people that way.))


The temprature rising in the basement woke Derek, he liked it to be cool. He sat up from where he slept on the floor and looked over the bed. He saw the tips of the flames comming from the floor at Kahn's feet. As he started to get up he saw the very large beast standing tall, he seemed to be sending wind towards the flames. He had no idea how everyone was sleeping through this. Then he realized as he became more concious and aware that the flames had to be the Goddess. "Vith!"

He jumped up and only then did he notice that the beast was her son Dreconis. He knew him from his portrait hanging in the main hall of the castle. He ran over to where Bo was sleeping and woke him. Bo looked up and saw what was happening and he too jumped to his feet.

The two of them began to move chairs and trunks clearing the pathway to the door as widely as possable. Bo went over and checked Tasha, she was warm, but not hot. Derek carefully slid the chair that Angel was sleeping in over closer to the wall. It seemed that vampires could sleep through anything.

Derek was going to try and scoot Kahn's chair backwards from the flames, but the heat was too much and he remembered that Kahn was naturaly too cold to be effected by the flames. Bo looked towards Dre and spoke a little louder than he intended. "Lord Darkmane, the path to the door is cleared."

[Beastie]

He took up his mother, and a grinned crossed his snout. He sent her a mental message, maybe a little stronger then it should have been. ~Will you quit trying NOT to burn me. I am part Fire Drake, or did you forget in your OLD AGE mother.~

With that smirk on his face, he took her up, using the threads of Wind to give her a cushion to ride on, actually feeding from the flames. The heat waves shimmering around him.

He looked at the one that spoke to him and nodded, then was gone. His legs moving as fast as they could, talons striking sparks on the stone. His Feet hitting the steps hard enough to crack them. He could not bellow, not yet. Well not unless they did want to send the whole place ablaze. He ran on, a mental shout given to any and all to get out of his way, but put in pure Dreconis fashion. In other words loud, crude, and rudely.

He ran on and got his mother outside, daring any to stop him now with just a look. HIs whole body shimmering from the waves coming off him and a POP was heard. A wicked light coming to his eyes and a sinster smile. He got her out then waited for her to tell him what to do next.

The vampires might be able to sleep through anything, but she couldn't. She awoke with a start. From her place upon the bed she could see Venis on the floor in flames and when she looked up from Venis she saw Dre. She cought her breath with shock and then looked to Venis again to see if she was containing the flames.

The smoke from the flames was filling the air bubble, but the air combined with Venis' emotions kept the fire going. She tried to sit up, it was painfull, but she managed. She turned and slid her feet ... er well, paws from the bed. "Dre, how did you ... nevermind, it's not important how you found us. I am just thankfull that you are here." She struggled to her feet sliding gently off the bed.

She held onto the bed as she walked to her medical bag. She opened the bag and pulled out a black jar. She handed the Jar to Derek who opened it for her. She took the jar and slathered her hands and arms with the salve all the way up to her elbows. Then she pulled the dagger Venis used for blood letting from the bag as well.



But before she could get back to venis and draw her own blood to help her keep her strength Dre had scooped her up and was running up the stairs. "Bo, Derek, help me back up onto the bed please, and I need to clean this mess up." She knew better than to get between those two. So she would wait where she was until they returned. "Venis is going to need another cloak when they return."

She held to him as he carried her out the door. ~No son, I have not forgotten, but the flames ... they've been burning differently.~ She closed her eyes and burried her face in his shoulder.

Once they were outside she screamed out from the pain. Her scream caused birds to take flight from the tree's. When he stopped she lifted her head. She saw that they were a safe distance from the Inn. "You can put me down son."

Once she was back upon the ground she closed her eyes and released the air bubble. The flames burst out around them and became an inferno. The ground was getting a little singed from the heat, but she wasn't worried about the grass. It would grow back and if it didn't she would fix it later.

Her arms extended out to the sides of her, her eyes remained closed. Her body began to lift from the ground and soon she was errect and floating above the ground about two feet. The hair from the right side of her body flowed out around her while the flames danced through it. She looked as if she had been crucified.

She leaned her head back and opened her mouth to scream once again. She almost looked like a dragon as the flames shot from her mouth towards the sky. It seemed like an eternity, it lasted several minutes. But the longer she screamed fire the smaller the inferno that surrounded them bacame. She spread her fingers and turned her palms skyward and the flames shot fourth from them as well.

Soon, the fire only consumed her, and it had calmed. She was able to lower herself to only about a foot off the ground and was able to look forward again and even put her arms back down. She looked to her son then, not even worried that her naked body was still engulfed in flames.

"Thank you baby. I needed to get that out. Now, tell me. Tell me what causes you such great pain? Yell at me if you need to. Whatever it is, what ever you need to do. I am ready to hear it. And the next time you call me old, we will dance." A half smile spread across the right side of her face. She might have been 332 years old as of the previous Thursday, but she still looked 21.

Meanwhile, back in the basement. ((LOL Couldn't resist)) Bo and Derek helped Tasha back into bed. Then Derek retrieved some of the moistened cloths for her. He helped her wash off her hands and arms.

Bo took the dagger and the jar and put them back into the bag where they belonged. Then he took some of the cloths and washed up the soot on the floor. There was no damage to the floor, but the soot needed to be washed off.

"I'm going to check the main floor. Dre had some kind of severed head with him before he rushed V out of here. It was dripping blood and I see a trail of it up the steps. I'm going to follow the trail back out the door and clean it all up and check with the others while I'm there to see if they need anything."

Bo took a handfull of the cloths and headed along the blood trail to clean up the mess. Derek continued to tend to Tasha. When he was done, he went over and got out another cloak for Venis. "Manny should be back soon with your shake."

[Beastie]

As she was screaming, he tilted his head back and opened his maw, letting out a roar. As he did there was a whoosh of gas that was ignited by the flames. So that a gout of fire was now arcing towards the sky. His roar was even louder then his mother screams.

Once done he looked at her and smirked. "Not a chance mother dear. For you have a better story to tell, and an explantion of why you kept me from what seemed to be the biggest Dance of them all. My pain is my pain. I lost everything, but it made me who I am. Leave it be."

The last actually seeming to be an order not a request. "You have enough on your old mind, but I do not think you have suffered memory loss. So tell me."

She chuckled. "Show off." It felt so good to laugh again. "Number one, child of mine, I do not care how big you get, you will never be too big for your mother to put a switch to your scaley arse. So call me old again and I will show you just how old I am." She turned to the left so only the right side of her body could be seen. "Besides, I don't even look old. I look as good as I did when I was 21." She turned to face him again with a rather large half smile upon her face.

"Secondly, I did not keep you from the dance, you were searched for and unable to be found. Besides, I know that the only thing I mannaged to do when we escaped was piss Vlad off. He won't let it lie at that. You know that as well as I. I have eyes from one end of Rhy'Din to the other watching to make sure that he doesn't show up with a new Army to seek revenge. But if he does, I will need all who have ever fought by my side to join me again. That includes the God of Ice and Death, the most powerful werewolf I have ever met, and the scaley hide of my son the God of Wind and War."

She gave him a very 'matter-of-fact' look. "And as far as your pain goes, it has always been and forever will be my pain just as much as your own. You know that it makes me ill for my loved ones to be in pain. You being of my blood it is ten fold. I heard rummors and whispers from the servants in Vlad's castle. I never quite heard enough to know everything ..." She almost couldn't speak the words that followed. "... I know ... I know she took my grandchildren from you. And I am so very sorry sweetheart."

Again her blood tears began to flow. "I want nothing more than to go to hell and torture her soul in ways I have only ever tortured one before. But you have to let it out, you have to release the anger and the fury. I know that you will suffer the loss for eternity, but Dre, you cannot hold it all in. And I will not leave it be, so don't tell your mother what to do."

She fell silent for a moment, trying to collect herself again before the inferno returned. "As for the story of our great escape, you will hear it, I just don't think it needs to be right now. After all, it is the middle of the morning and I am floating here in the nude for the world to see could they stand to look through the flames. So how about we get you to tell me what has happened in my absence so I can get pissed and then get myself back under control and we can go back in and I can get covered back up. I honestly do not want anyone to see these scars."

Soon her energy was going to fail her. She didn't have much reserves to begin with. She needed blood, fresh blood, not bloodwine. And she had been using so much energy since their escape, and to even make the escape. The last thing she wanted at this point was for her flames to extinguish and she fall to the ground. The pain from the scars would be excrushiating. "Let's have it dear, I know that you can at least let me have the anger you have towards me. Out with it already. You have to release something so that we both can start to feel a little better."

Manny had returned to the basement with a fresh glass of meat shake for Tasha. He added her pain killers and handed it to her. "So, I see I missed a very heated conversation between my God-son and his mother?" Now it was appropriate to laugh. He was amungst friends.

Bo came down the steps a few moments later. "I got all the blood cleaned up." He looked to the two still sleeping vampires. "How is it that they are still asleep?" He shook his head in disbelief.

Tasha took her shake with a smile. "Thank you Manny." She looked over to Bo. "I would say to check their pulses but ..." She smiled again and began to drink her shake while the four of them waited for Venis and Dre to come back down or for Kahn or Angel to wake up, or even for Gawain to appear, something.

[Beastie]

He told her everything, from the abandonment he went through to all he ex daughter-in-law annd her sisters did. The Killing of her grandchildren, the tormenting of him. The attempts on him and how he had to slay them. He told her of his capture and enslavement, of his having to fight for his life against odds that were more then unfair for the amusement of others. How he earned the name Beastie. How he was sold off to be a house servant and how he replaced the horses when his owners left there house.

He let it all out, but remained cold. He told her how the only person he had seen in his travels was Airtia, but that had not been in a long while. When he was done he stood there.

"There you have it old woman," a half smile on his scaley face. "That is all you son has been through alone. It has made him stronger and more determined and a surivior."

His voice dropped and it became low and deadly. "Let Vlad come, for now there is one angry Beastie here. And iffen he does not come here, well then it seems time for the Winds of War to blow towards him."

[Epiphany]

Epiphany was unoccupied for the moment and she found herself looking towards the kitchen. A lot of strange things were going forth and it was causing her spirit to be unsettled. She didn't like it. Not one bit. In all the furry of of events she had forgotten to take a break in her room. There was time now, but it would have to wait.

In through the kitchen she waved to De'Ryanna and Ar, if they were still there, and headed towards the basement door, and stopped. What was this going on outside? Venis was there? A lot of emotion was going on out there, as well as down in the basement. Weighting her options she decided to walk down the basement steps instead.

When she neared the bottom she saw that the others were sleep, leaving only Manny and Tasha. "I..hope I'm not disturbing." She spoke quietly so as not to wake the sleepers, but loud enough to be heard. "But is.. everything.. all right? Something seems to be," she paused then, looking for the right word. "Off."

[Guest]

Tasha looked up and smiled. "Don't worry about waking up those two Lady Epiphany, they can sleep through anything. As they have just proven to us all." She motioned to Derek to get a chair for Lady Epiphany. "Bo, Manny, could you two help me sit up better?"

She smiled as she was helped up more. She was more awake than she had been in a while. She didn't want to sleep. She was too excited after seeing Dre.

"If things seem to be ... off I believe you said, it is because Venis has gotten a little overwelmed. It seems that there is someone within the Inn who is a little distraut, it was making her not feel good. But then when her son Dreconis arived, she couldn't keep all the pain and emotion contained. She combusted, woke up everyone except Angel and Kahn. Dre took her outside so she could release. They are probably talking right now, trying to fix some of the pain he seems to be in. It's nothing to worry about."

She took another drink. "Well, except that she hasn't had fresh blood in days and she wasn't full strength when we escaped. Keeping the pillow of air around her has been using up a lot of her energy reserves, and then there's the pain ... both the girl and Dre's. It's kinda spreading her a little thin. So she might be out there a while. She has to release, regain control, then get back some of her strength and energy. She should be fine though, she is a tough one."

She pollished off her shake. "Please, sit, wait with us. We are sure that we will get to hear lots of juicy details when they come back down. You'll have to forgive her nudity though. Her clothes never survive her flames."

[Epiphany]

"No chair, please. I should stand." As for Kahn, she didn't know how big of a sleeper he was, but she knew that Angel could be a hard sleeper, especially after a long journey or trying time.

Epiphany tugged at the hem of her shirt and gave Manny a smile. Out of all of them, he was the one she 'knew'. She looked around to the people who were there before looking back at Tasha who had been talking. Of course, she had a lot of questions about Venis, some she might be better off saving till later, but a few she just had to ask.

"Can Venis um, tune out those feelings? Like feeling the hurt and pain of other people? Or is it just that, with the state she's in, she feels it more?" Then there was the question about blood. "I know it was said that she doesn't take blood from humans but.. if she needs blood badly... could she not take it from one of her friends?"

[Kahn Jordianthan]

*His eyes flickered open and he looked about groggily. Noticing the scorch marks he jumps up and looks around.

"What the? what happened? where we attacked? and why the hell didn't someone wake me up? How did I even sleep through fire at my feet? Did someone hex me?

*Glances to those about eyes darkening a little before he asks the most important even though he could sense her vividly outside, along with Dre which causes a brow to shoot up.. It had been ages since he had seen Dre. He remembered his times with him... and Krow. Glancing upstairs in their direction, he considers heading that way, but decides to let them have their talk for now. He sits back down and shakes the cobwebs from his head*

"Gods..I haven 't slept that soundly in years"

[Guest]

Tasha began to slowly shake her head. "No, that is her side effect of being the Goddess of Protection. She feels all the pain of those she loves and anyone around her within a certain range."

She looked at Epiphany for a moment. She was rather shocked by the question. "She can, we have all donated at one time or another. She prefers to drink bloodwine or the blood of animals because to take a life, even by accident, would mess her up pretty bad. But there have been times that she has had no choice. That is how she and Gawain became alpha bound. She and Kahn too I believe. She needed them to feed her in times of trouble and has needed to return the favor as well. Once the blood is shared like that, the bond is made. It can only be severed by death, but, her being a God strengthens the bond, so even if Gawain died and was resurected, the bond would remain in tact. And well, she and Kahn are omnipotent and immortal and probably destined to spend eternity together. They truly love each other that much."

Ah Tasha, always the romantic at heart. At least for now that is. "But mostly, if she needs fresh blood like she probably will today, we usualy donate a little to mix with the blood of a pig or cow. Although, from what I saw before Dre got her out of here, I'm not sure it will be strong enough. She might need something a little stronger. I cannot feed her enough, I am not strong enough yet. All the employees are human, it could kill them to give that much at once. Kahn is vampire, his blood won't work. Dre ... well, I'm not sure. Her blood flows through his veins, and even though he is not vampire, he was born of two vampires. He's fed her before, but she says something's wrong with her fire, she might not let him donate either."

She looked over and saw Kahn waking up. "Well, goodmorning sleepy head." She listened while he spoke. "Kahn, calm down. You were not hexed. Before I was fully awake I thought I heard Venis telling someone that she didn't want to wake you because you were sleeping so soundly. I can't immagine why, it's only been forever since you fell asleep holding your wife. And we were not attacked, Venis just got a little upset. Dre's in pain and it kinda overwhelmed her a little."

She watched him sit back down. "As far as you sleeping through fire at your feet, she was drawing in the wind Dre was weaving for her and the cold from being at your feet to close the flames in a bubble of air, there was no smoke damage or even too much heat, it got a little warmer in here but not hot."

She coughed slightly, holding her ribs as she did so. She had forgotten that she was even injured. "She wouldn't let Dre touch her until she did a protection spell to safeguard him from her flames. She says they're wrong at the moment. Too hot or something, she thinks it's because of the scars. Anyway, even though Dre is part fire drake, she was worried about burning him."

She rubbed at her ribs softly as she cringed from the pain. "So anyway, Gawain being about upstairs was what woke her up. And while she was waiting for him Dre showed up at the Inn. She called him down here thinking he would be happy to see her. Gawain still hasn't arived yet, I think he fell asleep again. Dre wasn't as happy to see her as she thought he would be so she got a little too upset. She got up off your lap and combusted. He took her outside, they had a yelling match we could hear clear dow here, now they seem to have quieted. I figure they must be talking and they should be down soon."

Tasha hadn't spoken that much in years. It was almost enough to wear her out again, but she wantes to stay awake and wait.

She floated there listening to her son's tale. Her blood tears flowed from her eyes and her flames grew with the anger she was feeling towards her former daughter-in-law.

Enslave ... someone dared to enslave her son. Her eyes narrowed and the flames grew even larger. How dare someone ever do such a thing. Animals were fleeing the area from the heat.

Servant? Did he just say that the God of Wind and War had been sold off as a servant? That was it. She closed her eyes and lowered her head. She was pissed. One could tell from her face, it was like she was suddenly possesed. Then he said that he had replaced the horses, he was used as a horse? She turned her head to the left and looked to see what was there. Too crowded along her line of sight. So she looked to the right, again too crowded. She would have to send the flames upwards again.

She looked to the sky. "My son ... A Demi-God ... A nobleman by birth ... God of Wind and War ... A slave ... A servant ... A horse?" She had known that something had happened to her grandbabies, she was prepared for that ... but everything else took her by surprise and very much pissed her off.

The winds picked up around her and she again was elevated higher off the ground. She looked to the sky with more anger than she had ever known. When she spoke it wasn't to Dre ... it was to the world. "Hear these words I swear to today ... Those responsable are going to pay ..." As she rose the fire surrounding her began to grow. The winds became stronger making the trees slightly start to bend.

She was nearly six feet in the air, and she was becoming the flames. The heat was getting so bad that the plants around her for about thee feet were drying out and dieing. She pointed one palm towards the sky and an arc of flames flew fourth from it that seemed to streatch for hundreds of miles, far from the line of site. She turned her head and watched it. Then again with the other hand. The arcs of fire seemed to go off in two different directions. She looked to both arcs then. Back and fourth from one to the other. It was enough to make one wonder if the two arcs met up on the other side of the plannet.

Then all of a sudden she looked straight ahead again and the wind stopped. She was returning to a more human form within the flames. And then with no warning at all ... she fell to the ground with a resounding thud. She made no attempts to speak, she simply laid there on her right side. Her flames had died down to where it just looked like she had been set on fire with lighter fluid. She was out cold, and burning like coals that were dieing out in a bar-be-que pit.

He watched his mother and as she spoke her words he nodded. Like he really needed to confirm them. After all she of all people knew when he was lying. He stood there, to transfixed to move. Actually ooohing and aaahing at the flames.

He winced as she hit hard and he could not resist a smile. He waited to make sure he was done before approaching her. Now being the ellg'caress he is he looked at his mother, and spoke softly as he picked her up. "Now who is vithing showing the vith off. I give you a ten for performance, but mother that vithing landing needs some serious vithing work."

He grinned, and after making sure the pocket of air was there, melded into the shadows. No one needed to see his mother like this. It was like this that he came behind Tasha. His red eyes glowing forth.

"About time you vithers awoken. You think this was a room full of the dead." he shifted back to his dracon form, carrying Venis over to Kahn and sharing a brief flash of what all happened with him. He saw Tasha again and smiled. he walked over and gave her a kiss on the cheek, then licked the other cheek with his forked tongue.

"good to see you moving hun. Still loking good enough to eat after all this time." He chuckled and looked to the other. "You I met upstairs. I am called Dre or Beastie," and with that offered a taloned hand.

[Epiphany]

Epiphany heard everything that Tasha was saying, about how Venis felt the things of those around her, and the explanation the fire marks around Kahn, and everything else. But she heard it as if listening through the end of a funnel. The words were slightly muffled.

She was glad that she had chosen not to sit down else she might have fallen out of her chair. As it were she was leaning back against the wall, eyes closed and arms hugging about herself. It wasn't what Tasha said that was getting to her, it was what was going outside with Venis, the immense rage and power she set forth was rattling and pulled at the side she kept hidden. Out there things were suffering simply due to a persons rage. Control. It was all about control for she couldn't afford to not have control.

Epiphany clenched her fist and let out a slow breath. When she did speak her voice had a more distant sound than before. "There is power in blood." And she drew her hands from about her waist and scrubbed her face with the palms of her hands before bringing them to rest about her neck.

When Dre came in with Venis, Epiphany had her hands about her neck, simply standing against the wall and breathing slowly, though the presense of Venis caused her eye to twitch ever so slightly. "Epiphany." that was in response to Dre's greeting. "What's wrong with Venis?"

[Guest]

Tasha cought her breath when Dre entered through the shaddows. She watched him take her best friend to Kahn and her mouth fell agape. "Oh no." She was struggling to get free from the bed in all the pain she was in. Manny and Bo started to help her.

Dre kissed her cheek and then licked the other, but no one could see her blushing through the fur, thankfully. "Hi sweety, good to see you too. I have missed you. That's cute, room full of the dead." She reached up as high as she could slightly pulling on his arm to bring him down to her height and kissed his cheek.

Then she made her way over to her medical bag. She withdrew the dagger once again. Then she looked around the room for a certain trunk. Seeing what she was looking for she crawled over to it slowly. She opened the trunk and pulled out a small wooden box.

She made her way over to Venis and took a deep breath. "I'm not sure I should do this. She was right about her flames, they smell, odd."

[Beastie]

"She wanted to know what had happened to me, " the images flying forth in to Tasha's mind. He saw he craling and turned on her.

"Tasha, you get yer vithing cute furry arse back to that bed now. i will not have you vithing yourself up even more." He rounded to Epiphany and said, "She moves from that bed, you vithing well push her back down. I do not care if you have to vithing tie her down....though she might like it."


His voice softened and he knelt next to tasha. "Hun, I know you wish to help her. Right now she needs you to get better. Remember she feels your pain. " Again he kisses her cheek and he looks at Epiphany. "I am vithing well serious, she moves tie her down. She fights back...let me know" He gives tasha that look.

He moves over to his mother, then moves to his bag. He pulls out something for her and walks over to her. he kneels down and places it in her good hand and says "Nindol zhah vel'bol zhah zet d' Krow lu' dosst grandchildren. Dos zhal'la inbal ol. Draw l' z'ress dal ol 'zil Usstan inbal ulu dro'xun. Dos el pholor uns'aa nin ilhar, lu' Usstan xuil dosib haunt dos."

He then returns to Tasha to see if she is getting any better and speaks. "Ussta Abbil. Ussta Dalninil. Lu'oh Usstan ssinssrigg dos lu' bel'la dos whol protecting ussta ilhar. V'dre nin lu' ori'gato uns'aa sslig'ne dos tu' awake lu' natha v'dri. Ori'gato uns'aa Lil'alure a dosst suul."

He Plays a scaley hand on her head and actually scratches her behind the ears.

[Epiphany]

"I'm pretty sure that Manny and Bo can do a better job at holding Tasha down then I can." In the safe regard anyway. Epiphany didn't trust herself too much in restraining the werepanther, physically, at the moment. Even still, she left her spot on the wall and went closer to Tasha. That dagger had her curious. What was she going to do with the dagger?

And what was that Dre had to give to Venis? The whole situation might be getting to her, but she was still curious.

"He's right though Tasha, you can't help anyone if you're not doing well." Then she looked at Dre. "Though he needs to learn that you don't get people to do things for you by yelling at them and being rude."

[Beastie]

He looked at Epiphany and actually chuckled. He spoke softly, "My dear I am my father and mother's son. I am my step-father's son. I have been raised by them, I have been influence by sweet Tasha here and that ball of matted fur upstairs. I am the Battle Brother of Airtia Shadoan. I am the God of Battle and a Dancer of the Dance of Death. Kahn's Right hand Beastie so to speak. Me yelling is normal. Me being rude is normal. But like my mother I will not see my family suffer and I will not let them suffer if I can help it. I would rather rip every scale off my hide, change forms and skin that form alive and bleed myself to death if it would heal any of these people.

"As for yelling, you have yet to see me yell and you will know when I do. I have suffered enough and it is partly my fault that my family is in the shape it is in. I will NOT see them hurt anymore. My mother now holds the ashes of my father and her grandchildren. Is that being rude? I have offered to fight by Tasha's side. Is that rude?? I am a Dancer, learn that now. I am crass, abrupt, mean, and yes rude and crude. But would you do any less for your family and friends if you thought you had lost all of them and learned you were not there to help protect them and save them.

"Judge me not until you have walked in my taloned footsteps and we will get along find."

He smiled at her and for once if any looked they would see the beast crying.

[Epiphany]
