Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
He looked over at the box he had been filling. "Well, I have all the electrical horses, now I need the Dino's and the horses with wheels. Could you give me a hand with getting one of those items? How many of the little mats did we end up with?" He counted up the electrical horses. Seven electrical horses. Hopefully they would come out with the right amount.

"A little over twenty." If she had pockets she would have stuffed her hands in them right about now. Since there were no pockets she settled with fiddling with the ball at the end of her hat. "I figured that they each didn't need their own, they're infants, but this should be more than enough for the playroom." Slight bit of lag to her words as she remembered Manny having said a toy for every child. It didn't occur to her that this applied to the infants too.
"With that done I'm free to help out with the other items."

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
He chuckled. "A little over twenty sounds perfect sweety." He saw the mechanical Dino's. "Can you go count those for me? We are almost done here." He was going to sneak over and pay for her toy with his own money. And while some of these things were going to be delivered to the Inn, her toy was coming with them.

Mechanical dinosaurs, now she had really seen something. How could she have missed those on her jaunt around the toy store? Probably because other things had taken her attention.
Epiphany chuckled and gave a nod before heading to where he indicated, having no idea that he was really only trying to get rid of her. "Sure thing" Now to start counting, she even had a piece of paper and pen - probably from the clerk - to help her keep tally.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Manny snuck over and paid for the pirate toy and then asked the kid to go set it in the carriage. Manny had his money separate from Santa's money. He figured it would come in handy to have some of his own money on him. Especially given he was getting a little hungry.
While the kid took the box out and set it on the seat he counted up the horses on wheels, then went to get the dolls. It was then that he asked Epiphany a question. "Epiphany, which dolls?" He held up a Barbie in one hand and Cabbage Patch Kid in the other. He needed twenty-five dolls and fifteen action figures for Santa. The action figures he knew about, the dolls he knew nothing about. He figured she might know which one looked more fun.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
She was done with the counting task and now Manny was asking her about dolls. Yes dolls. Would you believe that she had never had a doll before or played those games little girls often did with them? Yet she's played dress up (some would say she still does), go figure.
"Um..." looking between one doll and the other. The Barbie's were nice, but they were hard and she thought of the possibilities of the kids putting the in bed with them or the younger kids getting to them. "The Cabbage patch." Not to mention that the Cabbage patch dolls wouldn't give the girls a faulty self-image to aspire too. "That's the last of the toys then?"

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Manny smiled. "Cabbage Patch kids it is then." They had some that came already with a change of clothes, he chose those and put twenty-five in the box. Then he moved down the row and gabbed up fifteen different action hero's. There were comic book super hero's, professional wrestlers, and soldiers. Quite the variety.
Once he had those he thought about his list once more. "Yes, I believe that is it for the toys." He pushed the box over to the counter and started giving the clerk the numbers and allowing him to scan at least one of each item for their inventory and to allow him to ring it up correctly. The kid finished ringing them up and then hit a button on his register. It took part of the total away. He had made their purchases tax exempt. Manny smiled. "Thank you."
Once Manny had the total, which was on the thousands when it was converted to American Dollars, he pulled out a little bag and began counting out platinum pieces for the transaction. The kid put the money in the drawer and gave Manny his change. Then Manny gave the kid two more platinum. "Could you please have these large boxes delivered to the Tel'Ranaemyn Inn? They need to be taken to the Meeting Hall." The kid nodded and smiled. He had promised to get them delivered in a few hours when he got off his shift.
Manny thanked the kid again and he offered Epiphany his arm so as to lead her from the store. Once they were outside he helped her into the carriage and picked up the black plastic bag off the seat before they sat down. "This is for you, it is not your Christmas present, it is just because I think it will bring you joy." Hey, he had to spoil someone once in a while.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Now, Epiphany hadn't expected to receive anything during this outing except for pleasant conversation and a good time with a guy who didn't want much of anything in return. Manny helped her back into the carriage and she was ready to start the next leg of their venture when he was then handing her something in a bag.
What was this? Curious, and slightly hesitant, she took the bag and looked in side. A smile as she saw what it was and pulled down the bag. If this were a script, typically her next line of dialouge would read: " You shouldn't have," "You didn't have to get me anything," or even "I can't except this." Which in turn would have had Manny saying that he didn't have to, but he wanted to. Avoiding all of that she simply said, "Thank you. You must have been watching me."
How else would he have known? She leaned against him, messing with the boat and taking it from the box as the carriage traveled. "It was very thoughtful of you." That as good manners when someone gave you a gift. It made her smile and think of warmer days that were ahead.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Manny smiled a big bright smile. She was happy about her gift. That made him happy. "Driver, we need the electronics store next please." He made sure she was well covered under the blankets in the falling snow. "Of course I was watching you. You were so filled with joy and it was wonderful to see." He kissed her cheek and watched her play with her new toy.
Off in the distance there was a white carriage approaching, it was like the one they were in. Almost exactly. Manny found this odd for a moment. Then he remembered something and smiled. He hoped they knew their way to the Inn or at least thought to stop them and ask if they were not sure. It would not do well for that carriage to not arrive.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
The driver saw the black carriage and thought it looked a lot like the white one he was presently delivering. Perhaps they were for the same person. He pulled up along side and brought the horses to a halt. "Beggin your pardon good sir's, ma'am." He tipped his top hat to the lady. "Perhaps you can direct me to the Tel'Ranaemyn Inn? I have a delivery to make." He smiled at them. The man beside him looked around him and tipped his hat as well.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Yes, Epiphany was engrossed in the ship. Of course she couldn't play with it fully since there was no flat surface to set it down upon, but she could fiddle with it nonetheless and that's what she was doing. That is until they were addressed by people in a passing carriage.
She looked up from what she was doing and looked at Manny first before looking at the other carriage, that just happened to look a lot like theirs. Her first assumption was that they were from Venis' Keep, her men, or at least using one of her vehicles. She decided to pipe in with the directions.
"Yes Sir, it's not too far from here." She stood up so she could get a better view, setting her boat down on the seat. Motioning out the directions with her hands. "If you go down this road here a little ways, turn right at the fork and head east you'll hit the main road. Then follow it North, out of the Marketplace and into New Haven. It's almost a straight shot."
Then she sat back down, placing the boat back in her lap. "That's about it right Manny?" Pretty sure.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Manny smiled. "Yes, that's right." He looked to the men with a smile of his own. "You heard the lady? She gave you the right way. Any of the Goddess' men or Lady Casandra, Seleen DeChamp, Tasha Masterson, or the Goddess herself can take delivery. Have a nice day gentlemen." Manny cleared his throat and they were again on their way to the electronics store.
It was about a twenty minute ride to the store. Once they were there he again got up and helped Epiphany down. He walked over and opened the door for her. He couldn't wait to see the look on her face in this store. As well as the things for the kids in the orphanage, he also had to get some things for some of the residents of the Inn.
On the Inn list he needed nine portable DVD players, one personal CD player, and a selection of CD's. Add to that he needed thirty personal radio's in feminine colors, and thirty in masculine colors, another two-hundred and forty CD's, the learning laptops, They only came in blue and pink. Manny needed fifteen in blue and twenty-five in pink. There was also need of fifteen masculine colored laptops with all the goodies, including Internet access for a year, and twenty feminine ones to match. They were to have everything, web cam, headphones, software, mic, everything. And to go with those, he needed fifteen masculine colored MP3 players and twenty feminine ones.
That was his list for this store, then they could move on. So it was again time to go shopping. He checked for a clerk or other such employee to help them. But he was also watching Epiphany for her reaction.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Now this place was a bit above her league. While she could relate to the toys in the toystore - many toys looked like things she actually knew or could figure out without much trouble at all - but the things here were different. The last time she had seen many electrical devices was when she was on the TARDIS with The Doctor. There were all types of buttons and blinking lights there. Of course, that was all inside a Phone Booth.
Very inspiring.
Here, she looked at everything and did the oh-so-popular button pushing to see what happened. Everything was so . . . stationary. They didn't move. They blinked and made sounds, but the only movement came from things on the screen. They were like little TVs that you could interact with, and she only knew TV's from the Inn and a few touch and go experiences.
Epiphany messed around with one of the computers and found the Internet and was surprised with the list of things that popped up when she typed in "books" in the search bar. Blinking a few time she fiddled with the controls until she was able to close it out and backed away from it to go help get things together. "That's a bit odd. I wonder what the draw is..."
Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Manny watched Epiphany and couldn't help but smile. She was playing with things and pressing buttons and it was all so cute. An employee of the store walked up while she was playing and arched an eyebrow at Manny. Manny glanced up at the man for a second then returned his gaze to her. "Technovirgin." The man would know what he meant and would understand. They let her play for a bit.
When she saw something that seemed to shock her and she backed away, Manny was instantly worried. He asked the man rather quickly. "You do have the parental controls set on the Internet, don't you?" Yes, his first thought was that she found something very adult on there. The man nodded and they continued to watch her as she came over to where they stood.
With a smile he made an attempt to answer her question. "It is nicknamed the information super highway. You can do so much and find so many things." He turned to the man and smiled then. "We need some things I only want brand new, still in the box." The man nodded and looked to be ready for the list. Manny hoped he was, it was a long list.
He cleared his throat and began. "We need nine portable DVD players, one personal CD player, and a selection of CD's. Manny smiled as the man wrote it all down. He looked the list over and then called over another employee. He excused himself and the other man and headed for the back. Manny knew what they were doing and knew they would be a bit. So he looked back to Epiphany and smiled a rather large smile. "So, wanna play? Anything peek your interest?"

"It is nicknamed the information super highway. You can do so much and find so many things."
Epiphany didn't hear much after he said that, those words lingering in her ears. Manny said that she could find many things with the computer. What type of things? Anything? Did it work like a locator? Could it answer the questions she had? Perhaps it was worth looking into. The next thing she knew Manny was talking to her again, but it took a moment or two for it to register and for the words to make sense.
"Huh? What?" She lightly shook her head and looked around. "Oh yeah.. I'll be fine." Spoken as she gave him a reassuring smile. Though after she spoke she thought that she may have misunderstood what he had said. "Can it really find anything?"

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Manny chuckled. "Come on, let me show you." He walked with her over to a computer. "Now, you move this, it's called the mouse, over like this and click with this button. Once the connection is made and your file opens, you can go up here and click here. This is called a search bar. You type in what ever it is that you are looking for. But the more specific the better." Manny typed in purple roses. And when he clicked search it came up with a long list of places that sold them and several pictures of them as well. "Then you just pick the one that sounds like it is what you are looking for." Manny clicked on New Haven florists. "It opens their page. And from there you can do all sorts of things, well, whatever their site is designed for."
He looked over at Epiphany and grinned. Then he kissed her cheek. Then he clicked on a picture of purple roses and filled in the order form. He had it set to deliver them to the Inn the next day and to a Lady Epiphany and charge it to Manuel Costas. He hit another button and smiled again. "Now, tomorrow, you will get some purple roses. Here, you try. Just hit this spot to start over." He showed her where to click and then let her take over.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Watching very closely to what Manny was doing, it was clear that he was no stranger to this button-pushing machine. Every click he did caused different things to appear on the screen and things to happen, so much that Epiphany kept waiting to hear the machine talk. She thought she heard music at one point but wasn't too sure. This thing had to be able to talk right? Maybe there were tiny people on the inside....no, that was crazy.
Manny went to a florist. Purple roses. She had never seen them before and, if she wasn't mistaken, he had some sent to her. It was all so very interesting. Type here, click there, and you were able to get things done. Amazing. Having caught sight of the pages she saw his name. His real name. "Manuel. I like that."
The offer to try it for herself was tempting and she stood there looking at the search bar for a moment or two. There was something she wanted to look up, but wasn't sure if she should and suddenly felt conflicted, the sudden frown on her face might be a sign. After that she shook her head and decided to type in 'fairytale' instead and got a few interesting matches.
"This has possibilities..."
Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Manny's smile widened. "I wonder if Venis could boost the WiFi signal from the house." More said in passing to no one in particular than as a direct question. Her look of sadness worried him for a second, but she recovered and his smile returned. He made note to add another computer to the list. With the works. "Epiphany, what is your favorite color?" That was important information to have.
He took a moment to glance over to where the two men had disappeared and smiled seeing them loading things onto a flat rolling cart. Another man was bringing up another cart. Manny chuckled as they were loading boxes and checking off the list. Manny was about to add to the list. And again this addition would be payed for separately and they would be taking it with them. Wouldn't want it to get mixed in with the boxes to get wrapped.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
"Blue." The word came out of her without much though, like a trained response. Ask her what her favorite color is, she says blue. Ask her for her name, she hesitates. Go figure.
WiFi? Wait? Manny wasn't going to do what he did at the last place was he? She left the laptop to go to him, placing a hand upon his arm. "You're not asking because you want to give me one of those things are you Manuel?" Yes, she used his real name. She liked it. She would use the other if he preferred.
"Seriously I.. I don't know what I'd do with one. You should buy it for the Inn if it's something you really like. I don't think I'd know what to do with one of my own. I.. I wouldn't get that much use from one with it sitting there. " Epiphany said it all with a smile and lightly squeezed his arm. "Okay?"
Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Manny chuckled. "I like hearing you say my name like that. But let's keep that between us, not get everyone using it. Fair?" He signaled to the man who was supervising. When the man came over he added two more computers with the works. One in blue and one in white. Everything was to be included, and they would be payed for separately, and they would be taking them with them.
He smiled at her again. "I will teach you anything you want to learn about it, and if you need help, you can ask Tasha as well. And as you can see, I am getting one for the Inn as well, thanks to your suggestion." He grinned and watched as the items were retrieved. "No arguing young lady." He smiled and winked at her. "You have to get one, so I can teach you how to use the one for the Inn, someone has to be the first to learn."

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
There was nothing she could do but laugh, it made things better. There was always a reason to laugh, just sometimes you had to dig deep to find it. Although, despite being in a weird shop and feeling uneducated in a technologically advanced room, Epiphany was enjoying herself.
It probably had a lot to do with the fact that Manny was good company and these days good company was hard to come by.
"Let's shake on it then ya?" Smiling as she held her hand out towards him. They had to shake hands to seal the deal on his name. It was only fair. "And I suppose you're right. Someone has to teach the other people at the Inn how to use it when you or Venis, or Tasha, and Seleen are not around." Adding them into the mix because he mentioned Venis and WiFi, whatever that was, together.
"And I can show the Nuns."
Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
Manny smiled as he extended his hand to hers. With a firm, but not too firm, grasp he shook her hand. Two shakes, a little over dramatized. Hearing what she said about teaching the others how to use the computers he chuckled. "That's the spirit." He grinned, released her hand, and went to pay for everything.
It came to even more than they toy store did. But Manny didn't care. The stuff for the orphanage was delivered, the stuff for Epiphany and the Inn was loaded into the carriage. "Shall we my dear?" Manny grinned. He walked her to the door and out to the carriage. He did his usual of helping her into the carriage and making sure she was warm as they got underway.
They had some other stops to make. Not every place they went was as grand as the toy store or the electronics store. There were art stores and collectibles stores. Sometimes they met with people who didn't even have stores. They were filling the carriage with gifts for the guests of the Inn. But as they went along Manny was letting her explore everything and enjoy herself. And there was nothing that she wanted, that she didn't get. He even remembered to stop and pick her up a caplet for her red dress that she had gotten from the men for Christmas.

Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
It didn't matter where they went, Epiphany could have fun in a room full of hay barrels and make sure that who she was with had fun as well. That's just the type of person she was.
So they entered into a few more stores and, due to Manny's insistence, at the end of the shopping venture she ended up with a few new bolts of cloth, and she had one special request to go to the hardware store - hey, she needed some wood and Manny was nice enough to give it to her.
After they knocked around with a few and done some experimental measuring, it was time to go back to the Inn. They would be waiting for them and the gifts.
Re: Manny, Time to go shopping!
There was one last stop to make on the way back to the Inn. Manny had been having so much fun that he had almost forgot. He had the driver take them to a place called Jack in the Box before they left this modern area of Rhy'Din. He ordered two Jumbo Jacks with Cheese, two large Seasoned Curly Fries, and two large peppermint milkshakes. And two Christmas Jack Ball's.
They had gotten the food to go. And as they were headed back to the Inn, Manny gave her her Jack Ball. He knew she would find something to do with it. Then he gave her her food and her shake. Yes, it was a little cold for a milkshake, but it was peppermint, and you can't eat at Jack in the Box and not have a milkshake.
Once the arrived at the Inn, Manny helped her down and escorted her into the Inn to get warm. "I'll have the men get those boxes in." He had seen the delivery drivers outside and it made him smile because everything was delivered so quickly. He didn't even have to go into the Meeting Hall to get one of the men. He saw Shamus and told him about the things they had brought back with them. Then he walked Epiphany to her room and kissed her on the cheek. Told her he hoped she had fun and that they should do it again sometime, and from there he went to his room.
