Shopping for dresses

[Emilia]

Emilia picked her daughter up from school.

"Come on Princess, we are going shopping."

She helped her up onto the horse and mounted behind her.

Ilúvënis steady herself on the horse and rubbed it's mane. She so loved shopping, ecspecially with her Mommy. Life was definetly good.

"What are we shopping for this time Mommy?"

[Emilia]

"Well little one we have been invited to a ball, and we need special dresses to atend a ball."

She urges the horse into a walk and headed to Fabrications by Design.

[Lydia Nyght]

She liked the thought of a special dress but what did that have to do with a ball. Wasn't that a toy?

"OK Mommy, but why do we a dress to play ball?"

[Emilia]

She laughed at the question.

"Oh little one this type of ball is a formal dance, the women wear big fancy dresses and jewels, the men ware tuxedos, toes are fancy suits."

[Lydia Nyght]

Ilúvënis grinned great big at Emilia.

"You mean we get to go to a fancy dance. I've never been to one of those."

Then she started to frown.

"But Mommy if it's all grown ups there what will I do. Maybe they don't want me there."

Ilúvënis had gotten used to rejection early on at the orphange.

[Emilia]

Emilia smiled at her.

"Yes, you get to go to a fancy dance, and of course they want you there little one. Lady Casandra is throwing the ball and her children will be there too."

[Lydia Nyght]

Ilúvënis clapped her hands.

"I'm glad there are going to be other kids there. Can I have one like your's Mommy?"

[Emilia]

"How about one that is the same color."

Her gown would be much to growen up for a six year old child. They had arived at the shop so she dismounted and reached up to help Ilúvënis down. She took her hand and went inside.

[Lydia Nyght]

She smiled at her Mom with her big eyes. The store was beautiful.

"That works for me Mommy. Let's get started!!!"

[Emilia]

She smiled and began looking for fabrics.

"How about blue?"

[Lydia Nyght]

"I love blue. How about kind of a dark blue to match your eyes."

[Emilia]

"That is just what I was thinking, that would be navy blue."

She smiled as she went to the blue fabrics.

"I was thinking of satin for you."

[Lydia Nyght]

She agreed. "Yes Ma'am Mommy. What about you?"

[Emilia]

"Satin or silk"

She was feeling the fabrics.

[Lydia Nyght]

"Satin Mommy. I like the way it feels."

[Emilia]

"I do to little one."

She smiled and waited.

Ilúvënis walked over to a rack of pretty navy blue satin dresses in her size. She pulled one off the rack.

"Oh Mommy, what about this one?"

[Emilia]

"Then that is the one you will have. I think mine will need to be made."

She smiled and went back to looking through fabrics.

Ilúvënis hugged her Emilia.

"Thank you Mommy, I love it!! Do you have an idea on what you want your's to look like?"

[Emilia]

"Yes I do and it will be beautiful just like yours."

[Lydia Nyght]

Ilúvënis giggled. She had been thinking about what Emilia had said about what a ball was, and she knew what Valentines day was. She couldn't help but ask.

"Mommy, do you have a date for the ball?"

[Emilia]

"Yes, I do. Do you remember the man that was with me at Christmas, JonLouis? He is going to be there with us."

She smiled at her.

"He gave me very special jewlery I will be wearing."

[Lydia Nyght]

Ilúvënis smiled like she was some six year old love expert..

"Good Mommy. I think you two look nice together."

[Emilia]

She smiled as she listened to her daughter.

"Yes I guess we do, an ancient french vampire and an ebon haired goddess."
