Re: a day of work after a fun night

She took the box back from Dre and set it down on the ground again. She tried to open it but realized she wouldn't be able to without a tool. She scooted off having more of a headache at this point than still being drunk. She found a flat tool that should help her get the job done. She went back and pried open the box. After several minutes she was able to get the lid off. Setting the tool and top aside she looked inside to see what the big deal was. Inside the box was what she though looked like two short sticks but were short staffs. On each end of the staffs were beads one for each color of the elements. She pulled them out and looked at Dre a little dejected as she had not a clue what she was to do with these.

"Why would someone not want me to open this? The only thing in it were these sticks with colored beads on them."

She held them out to show him.

Maddie walked back over and watched as Kyra opened the box. She looked puzzled. "Dre do you have a clue what this means?"

[Beastie]

He was expecting almost anything when the box was opened. Well almost. He looked at the contents and was stunned. His mouth dropping, unhinging and dropping further. It could not be. Not those.

He just stared at the pieces until he heard Maddie's voice. He shook his head, his unhinged jaw swinging back and forth all weird like. He relocated his jaw and closed it. Then looked from one to the other.

"Y..y..yes. I know what this is. I made this long ago for someone you know Maddie. Sheena enchanted it."

He took the pieces and inspected them. They were int he same condition as when he made them. Making sure Kyra saw how, he attached the sticks together, making a a quarterstaff.

"This belonged to a good friend of mine named Arcadia Nyght. When I was a Smith at the Society she requested a staff that could be split for fighting in each hand or as one major weapon. She was great with a staff.

"These 'beads' as you called them, are my mother's work. Each gem holds energies from the elements. You know: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Lightning." He pointed to each gem as he said the name. "The power could be channeled to make something happened. I know it was more powerful when connected and half as strong when separated. But you pretty much have a staff like this and twin maces the other way."

He stopped and handed it back to Kyra. A million questions in his head at the moment.

[Madeline Cauthon]

"Arcadia Nyght?I haven't heard that name in ages. But Dre why would anyone give this to Kyra?" Maddie was more confused now than she was before.

[Guest]

Kyra watched Dre curiously her eyes widening as she watches his jaw unhinge and swing around all of the place until he resets it. She wondered why this staff was so importan but she paid close attention to how Dre put it together and explained the importance of the beads. She looked at him and almost whispered and re-asked what Maddie asked him.

"Why would someone that doesn't know me leave me this?"

[Beastie]

"Because she does know you. A mother always knows her child. Always. Remember that."

He nodded, knowing now it was confirmed. "This just helps assure some thoughts my mother had. Kyra, you are the daughter of the half faerie Arcadia Nyght. Simple as that."

[Madeline Cauthon]

Maddie looked at Kyra then back at Dre. "Her mother!!! Wait you said half faerie. Then whose her father, and what is he."

[Guest]

She processes all of the information she just heard from Dre and her the room around her started spinning violently. At first she thought it was because she had been drinking but the next thing she knew she was falling to the ground. She fainted right where she stood. This was a complete overload on her mind.

[Madeline Cauthon]

"KYRA!!!!!" Madeline bent down and picked her up, and looked at Dre. "Where can I kay her down at?"

-Sheena finally made her way to the forge after making a few stops along the way. As she walked in she saw Maddie picking Kyra up. Rushing next to Dre she looked to each of them worried that something terrible had happened. She spoke with worry in her voice.-

What happened to Kyra? Is she going to be alright?

[Beastie]

He pointed towards the chairs where he had laid Kyra the first time she fainted. Worry on his scaly face. "I do not know Maddie."

Then he heard his mother's voice. In response all he did was hold out the staff towards her. Letting that answer everything for her. He went to get a pitcher of water, but instead came back with a bucket and dumped it on her and Maddie.

Maddie was walking over to the chair that Dre pointed at, and was in the process of setting her down when Dre dumped the water on them. It was cold, and near about made her drop Kyra. "DRE!!!!! "

She started to say something smartt, but then noticed Sheena, and held her tongue. "Hey Miss Sheena."

[Guest]

-Sheena just stood there not sure what to say about the item that her son held up and showed her. Her mouth fell open when she saw him dump water on the girls and Maddie almost drop Kyra. She moved over quickly to the girls to make sure they were open. She would deal with Dre later.-

Maddie are you ok, you didn't hurt yourself lifting her did you?

-She turned and looked to Dre hoping she could read his mood and the news he got on his face.-

She came out of the faint after she felt the cold water hit her body. She nearly jumped not sure where she was at for a brief moment. She had a strange look on face when she looked up and Maddie and Miss Sheena were both there next to her. She whispered to them both hoping Dre wouldn't hear.

"Did I faint again in front of the boss?"

[Beastie]

He stood there dumbfounded, his scaly face unreadable. He nodded to his mother and waited to hear if Kyra was alright. He saw her moving so that was good sign. He crouched down, his mind whirling.

he ran his hand over the staff, lost in utter amazement.

[Madeline Cauthon]

Maddie whispered to Kyra. "It's Ok Kyra, you're fine. You did get some starling news."
"Yes Miss Sheena, I'm fine." She helped Kyra sit back up on the stool so she could see the staff.

"She's OK Dre."Madeline watched as Dre looking at the staff. "Dre I don't understand, I didn't think Arcadia was a faerie"

[Guest]

-Sheena turned to Maddie and answered her question about Arcadia.-

While I do not know all of the details surrounding it, Arcadia was given that side of her later by an old friend that is a faerie. She would be the one to give you all of the details surrounding the gift.

-She looked to Dre and asked a question before continuing.-

Would you like me to answer the other question of what her father is or do you want to tell her?

-She waited to see what he wanted to do.-

[Beastie]

"Your father was a Drow, Kyra. A Dark Elf they are sometimes called. Though he must not have been to bad if Arcadia was with him."As far as if he was a shape changer as well or not. Time will tell. If he was then there might be more to you then meets the eye.

"Mother, since this gift is for Kyra. Why not tell her how to use it."

[Guest]

Kyra looked over at Dre with a bit of a worried expression when he started telling her about her father. She didn't understand at all. She wanted to know who those people were that she was living with and that died if they were not her parents. She started to feel sick to her stomach but that was probably from the drinking they did. She looked at Sheena and then back to Dre.

"No offense but I don't think I want to know right now. This is all too much to handle in one day. Dre can I go home, I will come back tonight and clean like you said?"

Tears starting forming in her eyes but she fought them back as she waited for his answer.

Krys had been stocking shelves in the room directly behind the counter, and listening in on the conversation the whole time. She had remembered Accadia from all those years ago, and it made her smile to know Arcadia had such a sweet kind daughter. But When she heard the part about Kyra's father being part Drpow, she near about dropped the box of materials she was carrying. She had remembered that Dre had been in Drowl form at the All Hallow's gala, and right befor the whole thing with her mother. She wondered if it was possible that Dre was in fact Kyra's father.

[Beastie]

He nodded. "Go ahead Kyra. Do not worry about cleaning. Maddie will do your share." He stopped for a moment and then smiled. "Seems Krystal will be helping to."


With that he went tot he room behind the counter and peeked in. "Dear sister, if you are going to drop eaves then you must not try and drop things." He smiled sweetly, then sent her a mental link. ~And what you know of me as a Drow you keep to yourself. You got it? There are still a few dark elves out there you know.~ "Sister you will be more then willing to take over some of Kyra's cleaning....won't you?"

[Guest]

She shook her head to Dre and spoke respectfully but firmly.

"I will come back and help clean. It was my punishment as well and it's not fair for someone else to have to pull my weight. I am capable of doing the time for the crime."

She realized she made a slight funny but turned and walked around the counter and walked out the front door. Once out the front door she took off running not sure exactly where she thought she was running to but she just started running. At that moment she wanted to be alone and try and wrap her mind around what she had just learned.

Krystal walked into the main room. "Please Kyra go get some rest. I don't mind. As a matter of fact I haven't spent enough quality time with my brother lately, so go on. You too Maddie, if it's ok with the boss man."
She sent back her own mental link back ~"Don't worry Dre I'll keep quiet. I love you, and think alot of Kyra.~

She turned to Sheena and smiled. "Nice to see you again."

[Guest]

-Sheena looked to her son and sighed she was pretty sure she knew what he was thinking even if she couldn't read it on his face. She walked to him and placed a hand on his forearm when Kyra left the forge.-

I will show her what she needs to know when she is ready.

-She turned as Krystal spoke to her and smiled.-

It is very nice to see you as well Krystal. I have seen several people that I was not expecting to see lately.

[Beastie]

He nodded to his mother, as he watched Kyra take off. He sighed, because he knew those kinds of actions. More then likely the lass was running in a direction unbeknowst to her. She would keep running until she got into trouble or passed out. He looked at the others and nodded.

"Mind the forge please. I am gonna go check on her."

He was gone before anything could be said. When he stepped outside, he let his eyes shift into the thermal spectrum. With that he set off after her, seeing her heat trails as clear as foot prints in the day light.
