She was listening as she took her flask from her daughter. She whispered. "Thank you baby." And she continued to listen as she took a very large swig of the contents of the flask. Her eyes widened slightly at the words Zeph had spoken. She looked up to her son. The right eyebrow came up and she looked at him. *ahem* No words were needed.

He stopped and looked at them all. Saying nothing for a moment. then he said just one word; "What?"

His head cocked to the side. He bit back his thoughts for the moment, but knew this may turn ugly fast.

He took the water and took a sip. He looked at Dre with an apologetic look. Some times his mouth did overload his brain and he got his arse in trouble. He did thank Krystal though after a moment.

"Mayhap I ded be out stayin my welcume."

He started to stand.

Venis smiled. "Oh no, Zeph you are fine, you are always welcome amungst us. But my dear darling son is not going to sneak out of here so easily. Please, continue." She wasn't sure if he had anything else to say, but she was giving him the chance if he did.

He looked at her and shook his head.

"That du be all. Du be stayin by his side til this last job. But as that du be a fresh one, ye du nae be offended iffen I du be nae rattlin my bone box aboot it."

He flashed a smile then. then took a sip of water as if nothing was wrong at all.

"I was not sneaking," he said softly. "I was making a tactical withdraw." He nodded knowing that made sense but what he said next, well it would get him in hot water. "I know Krystal there will be mooning over the King bit and you. Well you are moody right now, and is no telling how you will take information given to you. For all I know, you could be going all Phoenix rising from the ashes on me and then well....well I do not think this inn could handle that. Besides we are on the third floor. You know my weight on wood. D'oh!"

She chuckled. "I am not moody baby, I'm fine." And she was at the moment, as she took another swig from her flask. "You can tell your sister all about you becoming a king if you wish, As far as I am concerned, there is no need for a tactical retreat. You are not in trouble. Why would you be?" See, she was fine.

He did blast both of them with a mental link as he spoke. ~No he does not know I am a Demigod and keep it that way. He is super squeamish around all gods. Of course who could blame him. He has to relive the pain of that brand every time he gets upset. Want to see why? Mother upset him.~

Venis looked surprised. "Honey, you are a man, if you choose to get your hands dirty, it's fine by me. Of course, I will always have your back." She looked at him with a questioning look on her face. ~Honey, why would I want to upset your friend? I believe you.~

She sighed and then smiled. "Dre, I am not moody." What was it going to take to convince these two that she was fine? "I never worry about the combatants in a dance you know that. And your father has never ever hung his head in shame over you. He knows you've always done what you had to do. Now, stop worrying. Please?" Yep, she said it.

He just looked at his mother, sending her a link at the same time. ~Mother, are you going to sit there and tell me you are not the least bit curious as to why two Gods branded him? Or wanted him dead? That is so unlike you. Maybe you fear the Gods themselves~

She sighed. ~Dre, you know I fear no one or nothing. I just don't see the point in making your friend upset. Besides, I don't even know how to upset him, I barely know him.~ His smirk was not lost on her. ~Do not smirk at me like that. I am sure you know how to calm him down, I just don't see why you want me to upset him to begin with.~ She took another drink from her flask.

Krys took in all that was being said mentally and not. "Yes I would love to hear about how you became king. However, if you expect me to bow, or call you Your Highness, you can forget it.

~Dre as far as saying anything else, you know I will not say anything you don't want me to. As far as Mom goes, She can remain calm when she nedds too..I think. Speaking of her dance card, I have a propisition for you Dre, I would like to discuss later.~

She looked to her children and her guest. "Dre, why don't you and Zeph run along. Go get caught up. Krys, you can go too if you wish, just don't be a pest. If Dre wants you to go find something else to do then let them be. I'm going to try and catch a nap."

Dre and Zeph headed for the door, leaving it open. Now it was a wait and see if Krys left too.

Krys relunactly walked to the door. "OK Mama, but if you need anything I'll be in the bar." She got to the doorway and looked back at her Mom and blew her a kiss. "I love you two." With that she left her moms room and heade4d for the bar

She smiled and blew her daughter a kiss. "See you later dear." And she smiled again. She loved her children more than anything. But they were being the ones who were overbearing right now. With another swig from her flask she went to her closet. She pulled out a pair of sweat pants and a t-shirt. She changed clothes, then put on a pair of socks and some tennis shoes. She grabbed her personal stereo and a CD and headed to the battle gym ... flask in hand.

She left a note on her closed door that simply read 'Be back later' and was signed.
