Leprechaun Knockin' Take Two! Empty Leprechaun Knockin' Take Two!

She did not go back to her room, between meeting the duo, and going to The Door. She had not heard stories, but she had been behind it before, with Epiphany. She barely remembered much about that morning, or that night if one wanted to get technical, if someone told her she danced the lambda with the creature in the door, she wouldn’t know any better. Steps moved from the one door to The Door. Hand lifted and a rap rap was given. She did not know the secret knock so it was a regular knock. Feet once more weight shifted between the two.

She was nervous, and she did not know why, it wasn't as if the Door was going to eat her, was it? Surely it did not have such a large mouth, and that was her thought, while she waited.

Ooohh there was a knock on the Door. Any knockers were afforded a most lovely treat. the shrill sound of a harmonica playing in an off tune. The sound didn't come from one particular spot on the Door but from all over to make one collective sound. This was followed by a voice that sang:

"Keep on knockin' butcha can't come in!"

Then there was the scampering. It started down at the bottom of the Door and it made its way up, sounding awfully like a squirrel - that's what many have related it to anyway. This sound continued till the very top of the Door - which was seven to eight feet high - where a small door would open up. Through the small slit would be total darkness except for a pair a silver beaded eyes that peered out to see who it was that did the knocking. It might have said that the person could not enter, but that didn't mean that the Door wasn't going to see who it was!

When the Door looked and saw that it was Al...that was reason enough for it to stall in closing the small door and going quiet. Allissya had been through the Door before and it knew her if only by association with Epiphany .

"What did you bring me?" The first question to start it all off.

Awe the door did remember her, even if she had trouble with remembering what she needed to do. She almost laughed at the words, for she did not wish to go inside, not when the Door spoke, and might have answers for her. A smile split her lips. The door wished to barter, she could deal with that. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a small silver bracelet, she was going to put it on, but she hadn't. The clasp worked just fine even if she was always scared it was going to slip off. The bracelet would be held up dangling so the light would hit it just so. "I have this shiny bracelet. But I am wondering if perhaps you might help me in my quest for knowledge. I might have a few other items in my pockets as well." Might was not the key word, for her pockets had things in them, just nothing overly large or bulky. "I might also run off and get something if you have a need for something I can get." Meaning she would be The Doors legs, if it helped her out.

And what did Al pull out form her pockets but a shiny object. It didn't matter if it sparkled or shined - that would only make it better-better - but it was a shiny all the same and those beady eyes made their own sparkle. The Figure who was in the Door even leaned forward in that small opening, though nothing more could be seen but those eye.

"That's a start. The bracelet. The bracelet. Pass it up here to me. Push it through the hole." Something to note was that the small opening (or hole) was three inches wide and two inches tall, it may be safe to assume that the jewelry was larger than that. However, if she tired to put it in like the Door said, it would fit.

"If you want information from me it will cost more than what you bring." The noise of scurrying sounded again, moving through the Door and around the sides. The eyes had vanished for this period of time but when the scampering stopped they eyes were back. "You will have to sign your name...."

The Door was ready with the special paper and pen, ready to drop them down through the hole if she agreed. It hoped that she would but the anticipated joy was kept out of the box. "Then I will decided what else I will have you do." She did offer.

Now here the Door was saying that it wanted the bracelet but she was to get nothing for it? Really. She might not be from around here but that was not the game she was playing. "Nothing is for free Door. I want information, you want shiny objects and a name. A written name." She peered up at the eyes that were visible. "How do I know that you even know anything about what I seek? It could be a waste of my time, and I do have other things to do." Her voice was not the sort that was threatening or demeaning, it was stated plainly.

Nothing in life was free, not really, always was a catch. Even in her offer to help out the stranger with the accent, surely a catch was lurking there somewhere, even if one did not think on it. And the catch with the Door was she would do what the Door asked, but only if the Door could deliver. She would make a deal with the Devil, which she might very well be doing, signing her name to a paper. "What am I signing my name too?" At least this sister knew to ask some questions, unlike the other whom would of probably signed her name away without a single thought.

Perhaps if the lady hadn't sounded like she was willing to sign over her name the next bit would have played out differently. When the Door heard her say that she could be wasting her time the creature inside stiffened and if Allissya had really good hearing she might have even heard a small and harsh 'Huff' from within.

"Could be wasting your time? Your time? You're the one who knocked on me and you're suggesting that I could be wasting your time? Hmph!" The nerve of some people. Always going for something and beating around the bush - or standing on the planks like she was doing. Never mind the fact that the Door may have said or done things to distract her from saying why she was there in the first place. "The way I see it, you're wasting my time."

Then the Door went quiet, the prospect of getting a name was forefront and it could get the name. "What do you mean 'what am I signing my name to'?" That was mocking. A higher pitched and squeaky voice was used when that part was said. "You would would sign it to my paper, that's what you would sign it to. Can't have you signing in the air or carving it into my wood, we do not know each other in that way." The Door even sounded a little bit offended at thinking someone would carve into it.

"But you don't want to see the paper. Just another waste of your precious time." Those silver beady eyes vanished from that small opening "So come-on, come-on, come-on. What doooo you want?"

She had not looked away from the beady eyes. Unless the beady eyes moved away, that was something that would be completely different! Instead when the Door spoke, she listened, the quirk of a smile touching her lips. “Very well, I may be wasting your time, and you may end up wasting mine.” She would give the Door that. But if the Door did not know what she needed, then her running errands for the Door could be a waste of both their time.

She did her best not to grin, “No we do not know each other that way, and I dare say we never will, will we Door, such a pity?” Was she flirting with the Door? But then she continued on, “By signing the paper, am I agreeing to something? Or am I just signing my name because you like names?” As in she wanted to know if the Doors special pen or paper was magically bound, she might be new to the goings on around here, but her momma did tell her a thing or two, or was that her sister, well dang it one of them did!

If the Door could help she would gladly sign her name to the paper, or even go find some place to get her name all printed prettily upon cardstock, if the Door could name that price. Which she would tell the Door exactly what she wished. “I am curious if you have information about breaking a Leprechauns Curse.” She would not give up a name, just that she wished to know about breaking them.

Leprechaun Knockin' Take Two! Empty Re: Leprechaun Knockin' Take Two!

Post by The Door Mon Jun 28, 2010 11:59 pm

Wasn't this just a coupling of impossible 'only-in-Rhy'din' things. This flesh and blood person was suggesting getting down and out with a seemingly inanimate object. A Door at that. Heard about knocking on wood but this was a different type of story. "You can always beat your knockers against my wood...." Suggestions, suggestions. She started it and the Door was playing in it. If she was all for it then we'd see where it would go. Might go away with something better than a splinter puncture.

But then she was on the name thing and that was a topic that the Door liked most of all. Closer and closer was it to getting the name. "Signing the paper gives me a name to know. I'm a Door I'm not one of you creatures. Paper's made of wood. I'm made of wood. You write your name on my paper I'll have your name and I'll know who you are." Made sense to the Door. But then, it was just a Door, a collection of wood. Right?

"I know about the little people and their tricks and guile but....." It was left to hang there more than a moment or two. The next thing that happened was a strip of paper, dark tan parchment, rolled out from the small hole at the top of the door. A pencil came down on a separate string. There was nothing unique about this parchment - no writing was on it, not marks or indentions - it was only parchment and it looked aged.

"But if you want to know, then you have to sign your name."

Leprechaun Knockin' Take Two! Empty Re: Leprechaun Knockin' Take Two!

Post by ♥Allissya♥ Wed Jun 30, 2010 12:33 am

Hey it was Rhy'Din and as she wasn't from around here. She did not know if Doors around this place talked or if it was just this Door. So far its been only one. A grin slipped out of her. "I can always beat my knockers against your wood huh?" That sounded rather...interesting. Now what the creature said made her curious. "Are you a male Door? Because usually the only ones that want me to write my name on their wood are male." Something about sharpies and drunken exploits would slip across and flicker over her mind. Sometimes the organization slipped. Her hand slipped up to take the paper and the pencil. "I want more." That was said with a grin, playful sort, but she really did want to know more about the leprechauns. Fingers moved to hold the pen just right. She signed her name, Al Zoi, with a flourish. She did not use her full first name nor her full last name, she used the name she would answer to though. The thought to use a name that was not her's at all did flicker, but she did not want to attempt to trick the Door, because she did not want to mess up chances on getting information for the accented man.

"Am I a male door. A door is a door" and that was that, or so it seemed for nothing would be said about the Door's sexual orientation. The silvery beady eyes sparkled with joy and delight as it saw Al take the paper and pencil and write her name down. But nothing would be done yet for the Door didn't have it back. the paper and pencil were attached the strings so as soon as the signing was done both objects were whisked quickly back up into the hole at the top of the Door. That is when sound would be heard. First the lil door closed and form in the Door the shrill of a harmonica was heard. One single note that was held out for the count of ten. And then, the song: "Ooooooohhhh! I got a name! I got a name and it's mine! A lovely name, oh what a name! And it's mine, mine, mine!" And then.. the Door was silent.

She thought about that. "Eh, not that it matters, I am not the sort of girl that well discriminates." That would be her reply to the Door. And when the paper was pulled back and the song, she listened. She wondered if the Door was related to the Oompah Loompa's but she was not about to ask. She stood on tip toe to attempt to peer at the Door when it went silent. "Now you got your name....you said you needed that to continue..so please do....continue." She was using manners, the best one could without looking and speaking, and knowing that someone was listening. She kept those bright leaf green gaze up on the door where the eyes had appeared. The fact that the Door had her name, it was okay, she wasn't fully attached to the name.

And still....there was nothing. The quiet and nothingness from the Door stretched on from one minute to the next. And the next, until the normal person would have thought that they had been forgotten about, or even thinking that maybe the Door had tricked them. There was nothing about the Door to say that it would hold true to anything that it said. It could have easily been lying to Al just so it could get the name and nothing else. But then, after those three or four minutes of quiet, there was the sound of a coin dropping, hitting the base and spinning before it settled. "The answer to your silly question is simple and it's complex. Find the leprechaun who made the curse."

Now, the waiting, she was used to waiting. Did she like waiting, no. Who liked to wait, especially in a world where time was money. Time was money and her time and money were both short. It was a job she took unto herself. She was not giving up though, she would rock from foot to foot, she was plotting camping out if she had too. The Door could of went silent, and she could of attempted to cut the door down, or carve her name into the wood, even they were not on that level. So when the Door spoke she had to ask. "And how does one find such a leprechaun, when one doesn't know which one cursed the person." And a thought, "And even if I could find the leprechaun I can't tell the name of the person I am trying to help." She let out a soft sigh, as she waited for the Door to answer. Yes, this is what had happened the girl went to get guidance from The Door. When did this happen? The people back home would be laughing their heads off.

"If you want to get information you have to give information Al Zoi." The Door used the name that it was given to address her by. "If you find this Leprechaun how do you expect it to remove a curse if you won't tell from whom the curse is being removed?" That made sense to the Door. Couldn't go around randomly un-breaking curses. What would the world be like if no one was cursed? Then there was another pause before scampering sounds were heard from various places along the Door at the same time. Maybe it was an echo for surely there was only one creature and that creature couldn't be in more than one place at the same time. Right? "Do you even know what this Leprechaun looks like?"

Yes yes, she could understand that. "But if I tell the leprechaun that I want to undo its curse, don't you think it will not like that? It wont help me and perhaps make it worse on the person?" She frowned. "There isnt just some magic way or scientific way to break a curse?" She thought about that. "I don't know a thing about the Leprechaun except that it put the curse on the person." She couldn't say her friend, the brief meeting of standing in the man's doorway did not make them friends. The delivery of his own items back to him, did not make them friends. The thoughts in her head weren't even friendly. They might have black bars across them but not friendly. She looked thoughtful. "Is there not a secret to breaking such a curse?" Even as she asked she set the bracelet from earlier up to the hole if it was open still, otherwise she would wrap it around the doors knob. She didn't even give the knob a twist or a rub, she was being good, besides the Door said they did not know each other that way.

That's right, they didn't.. and the Door didn't have a knob. Nope siree-bob. No knob, no hinges, just a big wooden door with three wide iron strips going across it. The thing looked like it was better suited for a castle than sitting in the hallway. But as Al lifted that bracelet up to where the little door had been it opened up again and she'd feel a tug on it to let the jewelry go. "Don't be silly. Of course it won't simply undo the curse cause you ask it to. You have to make him. I swear. here in Rhy'din and doesn't know anything." That last part was muttered. "You have to catch it. They don't like being caught. and once you have it it'll strike a deal for release."

So the bracelet was let into the hole in the Door she would let go once it was tugged. A small grin slipped over her features. "And if I can find out about this particular Leprechaun and have to attempt to catch it. Once I find out what one it is or looks like, do you know how I can find a Leprechaun." It might of been muttered but hey she wasn't from Rhy'Din! She was relatively new, new to many things here, and she was trying! At least she was not huffing she wasn't from here. She was trying to take the bull by its horns and get what she needed. "Are they hard to catch?" Of course, she would wait o see what the Door wanted next or requested to answer such things.

"You have to know what you're looking for." That could be said about any creature a person was trying to find. if they didn't know where they were and what they looked like they wouldn't be able to find them. "And like to be caught as much as the next person does. It's code you know. Catch a leprechaun he has to grant you something in exchange for freedom." Though the Door didn't say how tricky those little folk could be when it came to the wishes they granted in the deals that were struck. Wasn't it's part to tell her that. "Where to find them... you could go through me.. if not..when's the last time you had a shoe cobbled?"

"Then I will have to visit the person, to get more information." That was her thought on that, if she went and found out more about the Leprechaun then she would have better luck. She frowned, "Are you saying the Leprechaun won't like me?" She peered at herself down then back to the Door. "Surely even Leprechauns need love too." Did she just say that yes yes she did. Now she was learning things, like watching the wording and all. It would be most important she knew that. "You would let me go through you?" That sounded very nice, yet scary at the same time. A pause, "A shoe cobbled? I don't think I have ever had a shoe cobbled. Is that something they do around here?" It sounded so weird. "Should I go and ask the person and come back?" She would wait to see what the Door said, to go from there.

There would be nothing said about cobbled shoes, that was the Door giving Al a hint about where to go looking for those little people and if she didn't understand it that was not for the Door to explain! "I think you need to go and do whatever it is you need to do before the leprechauns decide to come after you." They could probably tell when someone was nosing around after them. Either that or the Door was in league with them and was going to send word to them about little Miss Al Zoi and her questions. Could never be too sure. "I'll let you through me, but I'll expect something more than a bracelet."

Oh but those words she would be able to give to the one. And she would think about that, the Door said she needed to find things out, so if she technically went through the door right now, it wouldn't work. She might not get the right one and the wrong one might not be able to help her! Thats what she was taking with her. "Hopefully if they come after me its the right one." A small frown. Then she turned a smile to the Door. "When I wish to go through you to find said Leprechaun, what do I need to bring you for your service?"

"I won't tell you that. That's cheating." The figure in the Door was grinning rather broadly, even if it couldn't be seen. "You're a smart girl. You figure that out. Have me do all the work for you. Pft." And it was marked off with a huff. The Door was rather interested to know what this female would bring to appease it. Interested indeed.

She let out a giggle. "It's not cheating! It's making sure I give you exactly what you want. No chance of disappointment." A twinkle in her eyes. "Disappointment is a drag." She nodded. A soft laugh, "Then Door...I shall leave you to your night, and when I come back I shall bring a gift that hopefully appeases you so that you will let me through to find the one I search for."

Depending on how good the gift was would determine how close to the leprechaun she was going to get! Hopefully, when she came back, she would know what leprechaun she was looking for and that she wouldn't go to a place with twenty of them who were dressed the exact same way. But the Door wouldn't do that to her on purpose. Besides, it's not like she was going to tell the door more specific's. That would make it easier for the Door to direct her to what she wanted. "So long, farewell, be sure to knock on the side table on your way out." The side that was in the hall. The lonely looking side table that was by itself with only a lamp sitting atop it for company.

Oh she would think about that. She knew one thing the door liked, and surely she could find some other things the Door liked. If she got the Door the most awesome Door gift and the Door put her with twenty leprechauns that were identical, they might have some issues once she found her way out! If she found her way out. "Farewell Door." Spoken she would turn and she went to the side table, the one that the Door said to knock upon, the table would probably try to trip her, but she would knock upon the table on her way.~

Nothing special happened when Al knocked on the table, at least not with the table. But those silvery beady eyes of the Door sparkled when the knock was given and the tinkling laughter poured out to echo through the wood even as that little door closed. Al had just earned herself some kudos! The laughter died down and the Door was silent once more.
