To Catch a Cat <Open!>

Gwendolyn thought Leo had a point, and her head was nodding as she listened. She was following along with him, looking around the area as they went. If she would of been on her own, she would of been tying ribbons upon branches or something so that she could find her own way back. But she did not think that she would need such things for he seemed to be knowing where they were going. "That makes a lot of sense, for I am sure the kitten is hiding somewhere soft." Or that's what she thought she would do if she was a kitten.

She followed along, and her hazel gaze would continue to dart about, though she wasn't ignoring her traveling companion. And when he spoke again she would nod, for he made another good point. "That is true, I am glad that the kitten isn't a shade of green, that would make things more difficult." Had she ever seen a green kitty, no, but that didn't mean she didn't believe that they existed! And when he paused and asked she would move over to search.

One might not realize how quiet the girl could be, for she suddenly went silent, and her movements were slow and oddly enough did not make much noise, if something was indeed there it should not be startled. And once she made her way over to it, she would tilt her head, studying what she found. But then she would lower her hand, and the next second she was standing straight up with....a white t-shirt. "It is white!" She thought about taking the shirt with them so that they did not make the same mistake again, but then she realized that the owner of said shirt might come back for it, so she replaced it.

Making her way back towards Leo, she lifted her gaze up to him. "You were right about the white standing out!" Of course, they would have to find the kitten soon enough, for they couldn't be gallivanting all over the place, right! Just it wasn't that time yet for the kitten to come out of hiding and for the at the time duo to find it.

[Lil Juliet]

[size=12][/size]Dia bounded off ahead of Juliet. She sniffed the ground abit then barked twice, and took off on a run. It wasn't long before she found who she was looking for and straight to him she went. For all her special training, Dia had her moments of dumb labness and this was one of those moments and she couldn't figure out how to put on the brakes before running into Leo. And run into him she did.

Juliet caught up with them "Dia you goof lets not damage Leo before dinner, Sorry Leo she must have missed you too." Juliets laugh filled the air. "so a white kitten, shouldn't be too hard to find hopefully. Dia remember find the kitty."

Dia was jumping around Leo tail wagging all excited, until she heard her name from Juliet. And suddenly the working dog training clicked in and she gave a little bark and strarted sniffing at the ground.. She dashed for a bush a little bit aways and barked.

"She must have found something." Juliet ran up to her and peeked around the pup. she started laughing "oh Dia that was a good job, but not the cat we are looking for. What Juliet saw was a big orange tom cat arched and ready for a fight with her big black lab. Laughing she touched Dia, "come on darlin' leave him be. Find a little white kitty baby"

Dia gave her one of those sad lab looks and left the cat alone. She seemed to totally understand what Juliet said to her and went over to Leo for a moment and nuzzled his hand then went back to sniffing the ground.

[Leo]

There was someone who was glad to see him and that was the large cat Dia. Oh, he remembered her antics from the snowball fight and, just as then, when she ran into him Leo was down on the ground. What was he to do but to humor the animal? At least, like Juliet said, he wasn't going to get damaged. He hoped he wouldn't anyway for he could wrestle with them but, as Dia was getting up and jumping around, this was something that would have to be saved for another occasion.

When Dia darted away, Leo got to his feet and dusted himself off with a bit of a laugh. It was all in good fun. It seemed like something was off in the distance that he pointed because people had gone off to examine it. He stood back and walked around the area a bit, poking his head here and there and listening out for any rustles that would give away an animal. Problem with that was that they were in a forest and so various animals were sure to be about. Like the squirrel that he uncovered which went running after he parted a bush.

Then there was a tom cat running across the way and he turned just in time to be greeted by Dia once again. Offering her his hand for the nuzzle before she started off again.

"Come now you two, no need for faces. Let's go check further in. Maybe the cat was thirsty and went to the falls."

Gwendolyn was slightly confused when Juliet came back with a dog, and she would glance to the dog before looking to Juliet, her voice holding a bit of worry in it. She had heard things about dogs and cats, and she didn't want anything bad to happen to the kitten. "Juliet...does your dog like kittens?" Her head tilting a bit, as she asked, as if in thought.

It would not take long for her to see the dog jumping upon Leo, and a soft laugh would escape from her. She had been told you could tell a lot about a person's character by how animals reacted to them, and how the person did respond in kind. Not that she was someone that had been around a ton of people and would know for sure, but this gave her the idea that Leo was indeed a good person!

She continued to look about the area, though she was rather quiet, for the time being until Leo spoke. A bob of her head of agreement as she looked to Juliet and the dog. "Sounds like a good idea." She did not wish to lose hope but she also knew that finding the white kitty would not be the easiest task either. She would begin along the path, her eyes looking around, just in case, for anything that might be the white kitten. Though she thought that Leo was right and they would have a better chance further along.

[Lil Juliet]

She started looking around more, listening for any sound that might be a kitten. Looking at Gwen she smiled, "Oh Dia likes kittens, she wont hurt them. All she will do is point out where one is." a quick glance was giving to Dia to see if she had found something yet. Juliet noticed how close Dia stuck to Leo and had to giggle.

"oh Leo I think Dia is guarding you, I guess she wants to make sure you stay in one piece till dinner."

A little up the path now, she stopped and listened for a moment, was that a kitten meowing. Moving towards a bush she could swear she saw a streak of white run behind it, so to there she dashed to look.

Gwendolyn would smile as she watched Juliet's dog Dia, protect Leo, from what she didn't know but one never did know what was out in the glades! She would smile over to Juliet, opening her mouth to speak when a noise would distract her. She would forget what she was about to say, for she was easily distracted as such, which they would of already seen proof of earlier. "I will be right back!"

She really did think she was just going to walk a half a moment, find that it wasn't the kitten she was searching for and move back to Leo, Juliet and Dia. But it seemed that was not the case, for the sound, it kept luring her further and further away from the small group. Every time she thought she had found the maker of the sound, she found she was wrong for it was a simple rock, or a ant pile, and the one time a sandwich! Which she did not think was odd at all.

Continuing to move along, she would begin to hum softly, more to herself then anything else. The tune was more of a lullaby, for she had learnt a few when she had helped with the farmer's children. Perhaps she was trying to lure the kitten to come closer instead of ducking and hiding on her! It took a bit longer, and some more searching and the humming to stop, when she reached a tree. The tree had a small hollowed out part in the trunk that wasn't to far off the ground. A soft mewing was coming from the opening, and Gwen would move slowly to kneel upon the ground, and lowering herself till her head was even with the hole. Perhaps this wasn't the smartest thing, without knowing for sure what was inside the tree, but she was so sure it was the kitty. She would lower her voice to be softer then its normal speaking tones. "It's okay little kitty, I am going to take care of you." Of course, she did assume that the kitten could understand her, inching herself closer to the hole, she would lift one hand upwards, slowly moving it towards the opening. "Okay kitty, I am going to pick you up out of the tree now, okay?" She waited a moment after asking before reaching her hand in, feeling the tiny paws press against her hand. Thankfully the kitten wasn't big at all, so the small claws wouldn't even break the surface of her skin. Carefully she would move her hand around the kitten until she could lift her out, moving slowly, taking the kitten straight from tree to her chest. Rising up from the position she was in, she would look down once she was fully standing, her smile beaming. "You are such a little thing." It was indeed the white kitten from the other night, though it looked smaller to Gwendolyn then it had that night.

Still with the beaming smile upon her face, she would look around to where she was at. A small shake of her head, why hadn't she used the bread crumbs when she left the group? She looked down to the kitten, "It's okay I can find them. " She hadn't been paying to much attention on her wild chase, yet she could see where the grass was pressed down from her darting around, and she moved slowly back towards the small group. She was holding the kitty like a baby, with her right arm and hand while her left hand was rubbing the little ball of white fur upon its small head.

Once she reached them, she would look between the two, "I found her in a tree!" She was so proud and so happy to have finally found the kitten! "We should head back so you are not late for dinner." And off they went...back to the inn!
