[Madeline Cauthon]

Maddie saw the boat and some of Viviane's servants. It seemed like home. The servants placed Jono's body in the boat and helped Madeline step in. Soon they were on there way. She could here the bells of Glastonbury as they rang. It always did make her laugh that Christians needed a bell to let them know what time of day it was.

Before long they were passing Glastonbury, and going deeper into the mists. She could feel the energy of Avalon flowing through her the air the closer they got.

Once they were well past Glastonbury, and the energy of Avalon consumed her, Madeline Cauthon lifted her arms up, then brought them down. The mist started to part, and avalon was coming into view.

[Viviane]

Viviane had been waiting for Madeline it had been awhile since she had seen the young priestess, and she had felt burden by broken heart. The Lady of the Lake herself helped Madeline off the boat while the men lifted Jono's body from the boat.

"Place his body on the alter I have prepared in the stone circle" Vivane had said to the servants.

She took Madeline in her arms and hugged her.

"Welcome home my child. Come wit me and eat we have much to discuss."

Madeline walked with Viviane to her own personal chamber where to her surprise the Merlin was sitting at the table. She immedately knelt before hm and kissed his hand. "It's good to see you Merlin. I had no idea you would be here."

[Merlin]

"Where else would I be child. You are in deep sorrow, and your friend did give his life so that you may continue to serve the Goddess. Even if he didn't know it at the time."

The Merlin gave Viviane a serious glance, and returned his eyes to that of Madelines.

"There is something we need to discuss with you Madeline, but perhaps a bite to eat first. Please sit down child."

Madeline arose and took her seat. She took a loaf of bread that another priestess Raven had brought out. She nodded at Raven for she remembered that Raven had taken a vow of silence as a part of her training.

Madeline then looked at Viviane and the Merlin. She wondered what they possibly could have to discuss with her. She remembered her talks with Morgane, and from what she remembered, when those two said they had something to discuss, it usually meant life altering news.

After a few bites, she turned to Viviane. "So what do you two need to discuss with me. I hope it's no more bad news. I don't know how much more bad news I could take."

[Merlin]

Merlin spoke before viviane had the chance to.

"It's about your parents Madeline, your real parents."

[Madeline Cauthon]

Madeline looked confused. What about her real parents. They were poor people who lived in a fishing village, that were killed by a couple of dwarves. What possible insight could the Merlin and the High Priestess offer.

"What about them?" Madeline asked not really thinking there could be anything new.

[Viviane]

Viviane always had a habit of coming straight to the point.

"It's simple Madeline. the couple who you thought were your parents were actually your fosters. The man who fostered you, Gawain Cauthon is your real father."

[Madeline Cauthon]

Madeline was taking a sip of water when Viviane said what she did. To which Madeline spit it straight back into her cup. She looked at them both with a look of shock.

"By the Goddess, how is that possible, and if Gawain is my real father, then who is my real mother?"

[Merlin]

"Calm down child I will explain everything."

The Merlin took a bite of bread and a sip of water, then calmly explained.


"Twenty-three years ago, during the Beltane Festival, your father met a beautiful preistess named Niniane. Although your father didn't know her name. As you know Madeline part of the Beltane festival is the Fertility Rights, of Beltane. There your father and Niniane took part in the great marriage. That is how you became to be."

[Madeline Cauthon]

Madeline couldn't believe her ears Gawain was her real father. She had never met Niniane before, nor at the moment did she wish to at the moment. She also knew that as a part of the Fertility Rights that neither participant knew each other or saw each other again. So Madeline assumed Gawain didn't know.

Her head was swimming. All she came to Avalon to do was to give her love a proper sned off, and to visit an old friend. Not all this. She tookanother gulp of water.

"I can't believe you two, I come here in my time of need, for support, and all I get is earth shattering news. Why now o all times do you tell me this?"

[Viviane]

"Because my dear, you needed to know. Outisde of being a daughter of the old religion, you also may have some of your father's natural abilities as well, and it would help you serve the Goddess better if you could learn to use some of those abilities."

That being said Viviane stood up. "Now lets go up to the stone circle and send your champion into the next life that he might come to serve the Goddess."

[Madeline Cauthon]

Madeline stood up with out saying a word. First thing was first, saying goodbye to Jono. She made her way up the never-ending stairs that led to the stone circle.



There she walked up to his body and prayed to the goddess as she lit the alter that his body laid on. "Dear Goddess, This man here gave his life to me in order that I might serve you better. Please help him into the nextlife so that he might serve you."

[Viviane]

She listened to Madeline's beautiful prayer, and offered a silent one of her own up to the Goddess.

As she watched Madeline, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for not telling her sooner, but it was not her place to till Madeline was ready to hear it. Hopefully Madeline would take the information she had learned and use it to become a better priestess. It was at that time the Merlin had joined them.

[Merlin]

Merlin had let the ladies say there good byes then walked up as the fire of the alter continued to burn.

"Madeline, I know you are hurt and confused right now, but now is not the time for self pity. Take the knowledge you have learned today and apply it. You are already a talented priestess, and can be even more powerful if you choose to grow in knowledge in power. You need additional training, train you can not receive on Avalon."

The Merlin opened a portal back to the inn.

"Go and seek your father tell him what you learned today."

[Madeline Cauthon]

Madeline watched as Jono was nothing more than ashes as she listened to the Merlin's words. She knew he was right. Madeline gave them both a hug.

"Thank you so much Merlin, and to you to Viviane. I know your both right. I will do my best to make you both proud. It was good seeing the both of you again."

With that Madeline stepped back through the portal. Once again she was in the inn. Now all she had to figure out was how to explain this to Gawain.

But for now what she wanted was sleep. So she went to her room and went to sleep.
