Tea for two....maybe

(Continued from Beyond the Inn)


He found a table for them, holding the chair out for his mother. As they waited for someone to take their order, he crouched beside the table.

"I think I can do that mom. Have some great people there already. Missing some assistants and such but will do on without them. Will not be the first time you know." He smiled and looked around.

"Where did you find him? How did he pass?"

[Madeline Cauthon]

Madeline walked up to the table with a smile "Good day, my name is Madeline. What can I get you today?"

[Beastie]

His scaly head rose up to look at her.

" 'Ello" He flashed a smile. "Can we have some hot tea and something to snack on?"

He looked at his mother, "What is your pleasure Sheena?"
He chuckled knowing he was going to get fussed at for that.

[Sheena]

-She took the seat her son had pulled out for her and was ready to start talking when a young woman came up to the table to take their order. Her pointy ears perked up at the name and she wondered but knew it couldn't be the same little girl she knew before. She smiled when she heard Dre call her by name and was a tad surprised and hurt by it but did not let it show to anyone. She thought for a moment before speaking.-

Some tea does sound nice and perhaps some fresh fruits and vegetables. Thank you.

-She was not sure what was in season around here but would take her chances. She would wait until the young woman was out of ear shot before she began to speak again softly rather whispering.-

I went to a friend and found out that they could get me access to speak with your father and that is how I found out where he was stashed away. Now I do not know the details of how he died but all that matters is he is back on Darkmane lands and will be buried there as he should be. I already have the idea of how I want it done but just have to get the right people to help me do it.

-She waited for that to sink in before she continued speaking.-

[Madeline Cauthon]

"No problem Dre. Two tea's and some fruit..... Wait you said Sheena didn't you."She looked at Sheena for a second and smiled. Nice to see you again Miss Sheena. I'll be back with your fruit and tea in a few minutes, so you and scaley butt can talk." Maddie winked at Dre then left for the kitchen.

[Beastie]

He chuckled as Maddie recognized her.

"Mother, I know it hurt you for me to say your name but there was a reason. That was Little Maddie from the Society. Seems she has grown up." He smiled and winked at his mother.

"Who do you need mother? And mother I have a request, as well at some point. Something I wish to do since so many of Father's friends are here. But you first, tell me all."

He smiled at her and was all ears...so to speak.

[Sheena]

-She smiled to both Madeline and Dre. She had not seen many people from the Society and was surprised to see one now but glad to see the child she knew grew up to be a beautiful young woman. She looked back to Dre and began speaking.-

You are right it did sting a bit but I understand completely. I am not sure who we will need help from dear but....well this is what I am thinking of. I was thinking of having him encased in crystal (yes people like they did in Eragon) so that his body can be preserved. Is that selfish of me for not wanting to let him go?

-True enough she felt selfish for wanting to preserve him in that manner but she was not ready to let him go even though his body was all that was left. She looked down briefly with a slight frown before looking back up at Dre. She took a deep breathe and decided to change the subject a bit perhaps he would be able to help her with something else while she was here.-

I need a favor of you son. I would like for you to keep an eye out for a small package. It is for Arcadia.

-She stopped to see if he would agree or ask questions. Knowing him he would begin to ask questions.-

[Beastie]

He nodded, "No mother it is not. I do not wish to let him go either and I know a few who hate the idea as well. Which leads me to my favor....later of course."

Arcadia. Now there was a name he had not heard in ages. "What package mother? Saying a small package covers a lot of things you know?"

[Madeline Cauthon]

Madeline had the tea ready, and had a plate with fresh apple slices, kiwi wedges, oranges, mangos and peaches. She took it out to Dre and Sheena's table. She first served them their tea, and then placed Sheena's plate in front of her, along with a spon and a fork. "Can I get you two anyting else?"

[Sheena]

-Sheena smiled to Madeline as she came back and spoke to her.-

It is good to see you again young one...well I guess I can not call you that anymore it seems you grew up on us. How have you been?

-She took a sip of her tea and looked at the food that was set before her and then looked back to Madeline.-

[Beastie]

He drank some of tea and smiled. Glad that his mother was able to catch up with someone else. She was right though, Maddie had grown up. he remembered how she use to tug on his tail and such. Maybe he should try and wear pants around her.

When Sheena was not looking, he reached over and jabbed a slice of fruit with a talon. He popped it in his mouth before he got caught, using a sip of tea to hide it. Man he so had to remember how to drink tea in this form as he spilt most of it on him.

[Madeline Cauthon]

Madeline smled warmly at Sheena."Thank you for the compliment Miss Sheena. It's good to see you again too. Seems like old times. You lok great. I hope life as been treating you well." Watcing Dre smurf a peice of fruit, she giggled and nodded at Dre."Also god to see some things never change."

[Guest]

Kyra came bouncing in and seen Dre with a lady and Madeline talking to them. She waved to everyone with a grin and went over to the bar to get herself something eat and drink. She was little but boy was she hungry. Working in the forge has brought out her appetite. It wasn't work that she dreaded doing but in fact loved being able to work for money not just because she was told to. She floated up onto the stool not wanting to make a fool of herself by trying to climb and sat there while she waited for Madeline to get done and started thinking of what she wanted to eat and drink. She put her chin in her hands, like most people do when they are bored or for the fun of it.

[Sheena]

-Sheena continued to smile and nodded to Madeline and even seen her son snag some food out of the corner of her eye. She was glad to know some things never do change.-

You are quite welcome dear and I am glad to see you doing so well. I am doing well thank you. I am sure we will have time to catch up some more later.

-Her attention briefly got taken when she saw the young one come in. Little butterflies danced in her belly wandering but shook her head and looked back at Dre.-

If you are hungry dear then eat some of this. You act as if you are deprived of food.

-She smirked thinking to herself she missed this. She let her eyes wonder back to what she thought was a faery but back to Dre and Madeline.-

[Beastie]

He chuckled and spoke to his mother. "Thank you."

He saw Kyra come in and could not help it. He stood over and picked Kyra up off the stool, hugging her and then bringing her over to his table.

"Mother this here is Kyra. She is working for me now at the forge and is becoming a fast friend of mine."

[Guest]

Kyra let out a high pitch squeal when she was lifted off the stool and then hugged by Dre. She nearly fainted again but didn't. She was breathing heavy almost hyperventilating when he introduced her to his mother. She waved with a slight smile to the woman. Out of breathe she spoke.

"Nice to meet you Dre's mother."

She looked at the woman curiously and looked at Dre. Not sure how someone like her could have a son like him. Her wings fluttered as she wondered how this could happen.

[Sheena]

-Her eyes went wide as saucers when he had told her who this young one was. It could not be is all she muttered to herself. She just sat there stunned and could not say a word for several minutes. She finally spoke in a low concerned voice.-

Dre where did you find Kyra?

[Madeline Cauthon]

Madeline laughed hard, till she had to sit on the floor.Kyra....what.... can....I...get....you?"

[Beastie]

He looked at his mother. "Why here of course. Well actually at the forge. She came for a job and is one of my clerks. As is Maddie here. Why something wrong? She is not a child mother, that I assure you of."

He sticks his forked tongue out at Maddie as he sets Kyra down in a chair.

[Guest]

She took a deep breathe as he sat her down and did her best to smooth out her hair and her clothes as she regained her composure. She looked at Dre's mother and then to him and whispered to him.

"Is she ok...I think she seen a ghost or something. Are you in trouble boss?"

She looked to Madeline and spoke softly with a grin.

"Some of what they are having looks good to me."

[Beastie]

He chuckled. "Maybe and you can call me Dre Kyra. We are friends and all that. " He looked at Maddie, "Can I have one? And you get one too and join us Maddie. The more the merrier." He said crouching back down.

[Guest]

-She looked to Dre and tried to get her eyes back to normal so that she would not upset anyone. She was just thinking to herself that it could not be this simple that her son could find what she was looking for so easily. She took a deep breathe and began to speak to Kyra.-

Kyra, tell me about yourself? Where you come from and all that fun stuff.

-She truly was curious where she came from.-

[Madeline Cauthon]

Maddie got up, off the flr, and went and fix two more plants, and another cup of tea. She served both Dre and Kyra. Then pulled up in a chair, and sat in it backwards.Yeah Dre, are you in trouble."

[Beastie]

He watched her leave and then come back. He saw how she sat and cocked his head to one side. He then chuckled and asked, "When I am not in trouble Maddie? You now some things never change."

-She sighed at the ladies asking Dre if he is in trouble and shook her head.-

He is not in trouble ladies. Something just caught me by complete surprise is all.

-She smiled and patted Dre's arm assuring him that he was not in trouble but they would talk later in private and maybe he would understand what she was surprised about. She waited to hear about Kyra.-
