The voices, she couldn't figure out who was speaking, but she heard them, loud and clear, okay it wasn't really loud and clear she was fighting to keep conscious.   The voices floating in and out of her subconscious, if one was to be honest, she probably would never recognize the voices if she ever heard them again.  “Seriously, you bit a f-ing wolf?”  “What were you f-ing thinking?”    “It's not like she's going to make it.  Such weak creatures these wolfs are.” “We need to dispose of the body before anyone finds out what you did.”  Those were the last words she heard, the feeling of rough hands grasping her body as she was lifted off wherever the heck she was, being the last thing she remembered before her world went black.

Slowly she started to wake, how long as she been sleeping, she had no clue.   No memory of where she was or what was going on or even how she got wherever she was.  This place sure did not feel like her bed, her bed was nice and cloud soft, this was not, this was hard packed dirt, with a patch of grass perhaps, old leaves that had fallen from a tree that must be nearby were pushed up around her. Slowly her eyes opened but they didn't stay open long as her thoughts of where she was from the scents was correct, but they closed once more, she was so hungry...so thirsty....and so weak.  She hated feeling weak it was not something she was used too.  Not something at all that she thought she would get used to ever.    But this thirst....it was like any thirst she had ever felt before.

The voices, the voices started to creep into  her head, not make it, bit a wolf, what all did they mean?   It was to much to try to focus on the voices right now, she needed to get up, figure out where she was, and find some food, something to drink, and a nice comfortable bed.  Placing her hands on the ground below her, she pushed with all of her might which currently wasn't much, but she got half raised on her arms before they collapsed again and she was flat on her stomach.   Her voice came out weak and wispy.  “Well that worked,” she groaned out the words.  Closing her eyes, oh they were so heavy, and she knew it was lack of food that was causing her to be so weak, she took in a deep breath, her cheek against the cold hard ground.  Mentally telling herself she could do this, she could get up, she would be okay with it.

You know that saying, when there is a will there is a way, well that was definitely coming into play here.   Opening her eyes again, even when all she wanted to do was fall back asleep, she pushed through it, getting a bit of a bearing of where she was, meaning she had no freakin' clue on Gods green earth where she was, but she had this right!   Her hands moving under her again, once more palms against the ground, she could do this!   Pushing up, she got herself so far, her legs moving to bend at the knees, and she was in a crawling position...not that she was moving forward, nope but she was able to use her strength and get into a seated position, before the breathing was taking over.   Okay so this was better, but at this rate she was going to starve to death, if she didn't get up and moving around that one.  Such thoughts were not going to help her though and she mentally shook her head, to actually shake her head would have taken to much of the precious energy that she had very little reserve of.

Couldn't tell you how long she sat like that, if anyone had come across her they would surely think the girl hadn't ever had a bath.  Her normally shining red hair was rather a murky brown from the dirt, her face had smudge marks all over it, her clothing was torn, the t-shirt she was wearing which at one time was white now was a brown color with hints of green grass marks across the back as if her body had been dragged, and her shirt was no longer tucked into the jeans she had been wearing, the ends were shredded, cuts and rips through out the legs, and grass and dirt stains everywhere.

Okay she could do this...she tried to stand up and realized that was NEVER going to happen, so she moved herself on her hands and knees again, because she couldn't stay sitting here any more, she had to do SOMETHING.  She couldn't see herself just sitting around and waiting like some damsel in distress in some cheesy romance book and suddenly some prince charming comes by and saves the girl.  No thank you she wasn't that girl.   She might be a damsel, and she might be in distress, but she had this, right!?  Well at least in her head she had it, and she in prime crawling position, she wasn't to proud to be moving along in this position, besides who was going to see her?  Let them judge her and wait until she had her full strength back....just sayin'.  But right now she was focusing on the task at hand, and she made it a distance, still no clue where she was before her body gave out and she was once more laying flat on her stomach, her arms underneath her, as her body had collapsed right on top of them, her legs went out from under her, her face turned to the side, as if instinct had kicked in, and her eyes had shut once more.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Arcadia Caughey Sat May 13, 2017 1:45 pm

Arcadia had been called a great many things over the course of her ever long life, but Prince Charming was not one of them.  She was certainly someone who knew woods - all woods, anywhere - as surely as she knew the back of her own hands.  Tonight, as was the case any given night she wandered the earth, her intention to tend and serve that which grew from the ground beneath her feet.

The damsel likely wouldn’t realize it, but the way in which the wind suddenly picked up around her, only to sweep off again like a tide receding, that was the sign that help was not far away.  The scents of distress, of exhaustion and injury, were very distinct and not ones Arcadia expected her wind to bring back to her nostrils.  It changed her course, that scent providing her with a map that lead her directly to where the woman had fallen.

Kneeling down by her side, Arcadia shrugged off the worn drawstring pack she wore on her back and set it down on the ground beside her.  Her violet eyes slowly looked the woman over, taking note of any signs of injury or struggle.  So the woman’s dirtied state certainly didn’t escape her attention, nor did the distress of her clothes.

Arcadia didn’t move her, didn’t touch her either, not just yet.  Instead, while she was making her assessment, she used her preternatural abilities to her advantage by directing a pulse of power at the woman’s mind.  Her thrall would slip into the woman’s consciousness, with no directive other than to itch at the woman’s inner sanctum in a way that would rouse her if the injury was not too severe.  Arcadia's intention was no different than putting smelling salts under the nose, just through a different method.

“It’s time to wake up, lass.”  She murmured it softly, a bewitching musicality present in her already melodic brogue.  “Follow the sound of my voice.”

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Liberty Jean Sun May 21, 2017 7:09 pm

Never in her life had she felt such utter helplessness, it was not a feeling that would sit well with the redhead, not well at all.    Perhaps Arcadia needed to add some new nicknames, perhaps it had been too long since the last one was added.

Every time she got a burst of energy, which was funny to say, more like every time she could muster up any sort of energy she was using it to try to move, but it always backfired and she would find herself back flat on the ground, the fight was alive in her but she was weak so very weak.   She was unaware of the things around her, the wind, that was picking up and dropping off, the way that the ground smelled, wasn't even entering her thoughts.    Her mind was rather barren of any sort of clues as she was fighting for her very life, she had lived longer than those that dumped her had assumed, but how much longer did she really have.  Her body was in pain as the vampire side that was emerging after the change was warring with the wolf side she had been born with.    In truth, this shouldn't have happened, she should have succumbed as they had thought she would, they being the ones that had changed her and dumped her body, in a foreign place.

No real injuries were shown on the outside of the female, no signs of struggle, just the signs of how they had treated her, unfortunately, the smells of having been dragged outside dropped and left to die would meet Arcadia's nose.

Liberty Jean still was not moving and when Arcadia pinged inside the woman's consciousness she might have picked up many things, the fact the woman's own body was fighting to stay alive, the change that had happened to her would be very vivid.

A soft groan escaped from her still closed mouth, hearing it was time to wake up.   She was starting to get comfortable in this sleep, but that voice, it was tugging her to follow it, even if she didn't want to she wanted too.    Slowly, her eye that was not facing the ground popped open, and she mumbled...out words that Arcadia would be able to make out.  “Are you a forest angel?”   probably because of the way that Arcadia was it was an assumption, though she could barely lift her head or make any movements, she was hoping it wasn't a trap because right now she was as defenseless as a newborn pup.

Arcadia wrinkled her nose in response to the strong array of scents that came from the female on the ground.  They may not have been pleasant, but each of them provided hints at what kind of circumstances had befallen the woman.  And one scent in particular, which stood apart from the rest, carried with it the most important information of all:  this woman was not human.  Good to know.

Her lips curled into one of her knowing little smiles when the woman’s words reached her ears.  “Aye, I am.”  While she wasn’t one who readily offered forth such information, in this circumstance she thought the confirmation might put the female at ease.  Though perhaps it would seed more questions in the woman’s mind than answers.  “One trained in medicine, t’ boot.  You’re about to feel a bit of wind tuggin’ at your body, lass, but there’s no reason to fret.  It’ll do nothin’ more than gently roll you over.”

Sure enough, the woman would feel the the soft brush and light pressure of Arcadia’s wind curling around her torso and legs.  The invisible tendrils moved her as organically as they usually moved the branches of trees, though their pace was far gentler on this task.  As her wind did its work, Arcadia watched carefully, in case any signs of pain and distress could be observed.  Even so, it was a matter of procedure to ask these same questions outright.  “Are ye in any pain or discomfort, lass?  Do you know how ye came to be here?”

Arcadia paused, her brow furrowing as she thought she spied something on the woman’s throat, nearly concealed by shadow.  She leaned down, the touch of her fingers as light as her air as she brushed the woman’s hair away from her neck.  The remains of what once had been marks, when paired with the bit of dried blood around the spot, were unmistakable.  “You’ve lost blood, aye?  I carry a tincture that can help your body along as it repairs the loss, but after that it would be wise to move you.  I own a clinic a few miles from here.”

Arcadia was already digging in her pack at her side, pulling out a dropper bottle about four inches tall.  It was the largest bottle she carried with her when it came to her remedies, for likely obvious reasons when one considered her own dining habits.  How she would transport the woman from here to there, she did not say just yet.  That would be the next bridge to cross.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Liberty Jean Thu May 25, 2017 10:44 pm

For the record, the girl frequented the shower often, enjoyed long bubble baths too, this was not her normal operating ways.   Sometimes things happened and they became out of your own control.    Such as what was going on with Liberty Jean this very moment, she had no control, and that thought was banging around inside of her head and freaking her out, yet she was trying not to let it consume her.   She didn't need that right now.

Her gaze was lifted, well lets be honest, her eye that was not down on the ground looked up to Arcadia when she said she was the forest angel, and she seemed to calm down, which would be good for her body.   Why she would instantly trust someone right now was probably due to the weak state she was in it made it easier than if she had been in tip top health.   When Arcadia spoke of the wind, Liberty jean thought of the words, and she spoke out an “Okay.” Right now she wasn't so sure if she would be able to feel much of anything but that feeling of starving and weakness.

When the wind did turn her over, the lady was right she didn't feel much as she was moved onto her back, instead of her stomach in the dirt.  No real signs of pain would be observed, the distress of being so weak and being in a pain-filled starvation might show up, but no broken bones, no cracked ribs, a bit of a memory loss of course.    And she took in that breath.   “No pain....very hungry.....”   But when she asked how you came to be there....she was...a blank page.  “I...I don't know.   The last thing I remember I was going for a walk....where is here?”    Because she wasn't even sure where she was, and this wasn't normal.    Her gaze looked down at her hand and spotted the ring on her pinky finger, it was a slim silver ring with a small opal in the delicate setting.   It was as if she relaxed a bit seeing that ring there, it was a heirloom that had been passed down in her family.

She was to weak to move away from the touch but that would at least give a way to something that had happened.   “That could explain why I feel so weak.”  She frowned a moment.  “A tincture?”  That was not a word that was in her every day living,  neither was the word ye and aye, but she was able to pick those words up and convert them into words she knew, but this was a new one.  “I really am in no position to argue with you, besides you are the forest angel not me.”   Yes, she said it again.

Liberty was watching what Arcadia was doing even though her eyes were drooping but they weren't completely closing not yet.    Her stomach felt like it was eating itself from the inside, this was not a good feeling at all, and she had to trust the forest angel to make it so she had some strength,  if only she would have known the adventure she would be taking she might not have gotten out of bed, who is she kidding she liked adventure.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Arcadia Caughey Wed May 31, 2017 11:30 pm

Arcadia had that way about her, especially these days now that she was strongly tied to her truth.  The result was a sort of grounded, steady energy that was easy to trust. “You’re in the Eastern Forest, lass.  Deep enough that it’s fortunate I crossed your path.” Her way of tactfully letting the woman know that she hadn’t exactly collapsed in a place often traveled.  “And not exactly a proper place to get a meal.”  There was a touch of whimsy in Arcadia’s otherwise calm brogue, as she’d picked up on the fact that this woman had a bit of wild in her blood.  And, well, sometimes those folk who were wild did hunt in the wild.

She’d responded to those words first, to allow her time to carefully observe the woman’s movements while she digested the woman’s words.  That she identified her greatest problem as hunger after what she’d just been through, it was enough to draw Arcadia’s lips into a small frown.  “Aye.  A concentrated blend of herbs, made by soakin’ the medicinal parts of plants in an alcohol solution.  It will taste a bit bitter, but bearable.  Bottom’s up, lass.”  Arcadia gently pressed a dropper filled with a brown liquid to her lips.  It would look much like the shade of iced tea, but would not taste as such.

While the woman was taking her medicine, Arcadia would take the opportunity to check the woman’s pulse.  It was a formality, really, when her preternatural hearing would be able to pick up the woman’s heartbeat - or lack thereof - with ease. Using this common gesture for a healer, however, Arcadia was able to administer the test that she really felt necessary based on the woman's state of affairs.  Slicing the meat of her palm with the sharpness of her nail, by the time Arcadia pressed two fingertips to the woman’s throat blood was welling up from the resulting scratch on her palm.

Weakness was one thing after one was made a vampire’s meal, but such hunger?  In a moment such as this logic had to win out over emotion, and Arcadia knew she had to check for the change. She was prepared for any number of responses...and to make the shift necessary to give the woman what she needed, if it came to that. She was a forest angel, after all.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Liberty Jean Sun Jun 04, 2017 1:57 pm

Probably was a good thing that Arcadia had a way about her, even if Liberty Jean was to weak to do anything about it in her current state, which hopefully the instant trusting of the forest angel wouldn't bite her in the behind later on.   Listening to the words coming from the lady, and the tone, along with that almost soothing she blinked.   “I think I am a far way from home.”   Eastern Forest, did that mean there was a Western, Southern and Northern forest?  But even thinking on that was hurting her brain, and right now she didn't have enough of that to make sense to let it get pulled as it was.  A almost mumbled bit of words came out of her lips. “No wonder they dumped me here.”  Where that thought came from she had no clue, and if you asked her to repeat it she probably could not, because she was a bit out of her mind.

It was indeed what she felt was the worst, that hunger seemed to be the only thing she was thinking of, and she didn't understand why.   But when she said the bottoms up, after explaining what it was, Liberty Jean did open her mouth and she tasted the bitter liquid as Arcadia did administer the medicine.  Her eyes had that this is not a happy taste but she was trying not to screw up her mouth and be a horrible patient while she had no real energy to not be anything else.

When Arcadia went to check for her pulse, Liberty Jean didn't think anything of it, but Arcadia would hear a very dull thud that was not normal for any sort of being.   The pace was rather slow and if she was not what blend of creatures she was now, it would be the sort that would make one think they were losing their patient, except in this case it was something she would be getting used too.   The thudding of her heartbeat was no rhythmic it just happened to hit here and there, as her body was learning how to work as this hybrid person she now was.

She did not fight the bitterness as it ran down her throat and she swallowed it even if the taste wasn't that great it was a liquid and it helped her parched throat.    But it was when Arcadia did slice her palm and there was blood that Liberty Jeans stomach growled, which was not making any sense to the girl, but when her finger tips were on her throat, Liberty was trying to turn towards the blood, even as her pink tongue was darting out and trying to lick at the forest angel's hand...which had huge confusion in Liberty's eyes...not fully understanding the situation.  Like this was not cool but she couldn't get that thought of how great some blood would be out of her mind even as she was repulsed by it, all at the same time, and it would be reflected in her eyes.    If she had any of the strength left in her body, she would have grabbed the forest angels hand and brought it to her mouth, but even with the scent of it right there she was to weak to do anything.....but what she had done and be really confused as her mind and body were warring about what she wanted.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Arcadia Caughey Thu Jun 08, 2017 12:30 am

Arcadia was known to give a nice cheeky bite to the behind now and again, but in entirely different circumstances.  Perhaps if she’d come across this female at the club? At any rate, the woman in her current state would be treated to Arcadia’s proper bedside manner. “Not to worry, we’ll have ye home before long.”  The distance of that home didn’t seem to phase Arcadia, she was a woman who wandered far more than she stayed still and traveling great distances was just another regular day for her. “Do ye happen to know who ‘they’ are, lass?” Never knew when information about attackers might come in handy during treatment.

If this female was afflicted with bloodthirst, the brew that Arcadia had just administered would do little to sate that hunger for likely obvious reasons.  Depending on how far along the change had worked through the body, it was possible the brew would do little for her energy level or physical state at all. The woman’s body wouldn’t have an adverse response, mind, it would just be like having a sip of tea and that was that.

Arcadia was quickly suspecting that would be the case. Ears tuned into the female’s heartbeat, its laboring sluggishness was not the sort of rhythm even a body that had just been fed from would make.  Normally under such circumstances the heart rallied after the drinking, or it ceased to beat.  This woman’s heart was in a state all of its own, which deepened Arcadia’s thoughtful frown.

All was confirmed when the woman responded to the flow of fresh blood near. Arcadia wouldn’t let the woman taste of it, drawing her hand back out of reach as the cut she’d made was already in the process of healing. She saw the confusion in the woman’s eyes, and she did her best to keep remorse from touching her own. One of the hardest parts about being a healer was delivering news that a patient most likely did not wish to hear, and now was one of those times. “Before we go any further than this, lass, you need to know what’s happenin’ to your body.  The ones who attacked you, they did more than bleed you, they also seeded a change.  That change is attemptin’ to work through your body as we speak, but it requires a feeding of fresh blood in order to get the required strength to finish the change.  If you elect not to give your body the blood it requires, your body will cease to change, but it will also cease to be.”

As she delivered this news, Arcadia and her voice remained as even-tempered as ever. To was a skill of hers, to transmit such steadiness even in the face of unrest. A somewhat ironic skill, as Arcadia was known to tangle herself up into a turmoil to great effect. “I’m willin' to provide the blood you need, lass, but I want to be certain you understand the choice unfortunate events require you to make: you must choose between embracin' an existence as a vampire of the line of your attackers, or embracin' a peaceful death.”  She would not assume what choice this woman would make, nor would she take the choice away from her.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Liberty Jean Wed Jul 19, 2017 10:11 pm

That would not surprise many, from what we can gather!   But sadly, this was not the club, this was the forest and she was not sure what was happening to her.   Thankfully, at least in her head, Arcadia was the forest angel and she was going to help her.   It was the only thing Liberty Jean had to cling to at the moment.   “Home?”  As if that word was a foreign concept to her.   But sadly when she asked who they are...there was a dazed and confused look that would flit over her features, not that it was much of a change from how she was looking passed out and weak.   “No.”  She frowned a bit, but it was to much energy, and her face went back to rather well emotionless....

Sadly she wasn't really responding to what Arcadia had given  her.   Her stomach was growling and there wasn't anything she could do about the signs.    The blood thirst was real even if she had no clue what it was.  Pretty much she just needed some blood and she would be well completely converted....or without it she would probably die.   Not a big deal, right!

One liked to be different right!  And even with Arcadia listening to her heart beat or what there was of it, didn't change anything.  The non rhythmic sound continued here and there as if it had a beat of a drum only it could hear.

The confusion was in her eyes why was she trying to lick the woman's hand where the blood was.   Because why was she craving blood?  Sure in her other form she ate livestock, but blood on its own, and wanting it..that was new.   Not sure how this went...but her eyes were on Arcadia's...and she took in a breath, her chest rising and falling from the movement, awkwardly.  Eye lids closed as she listened before they popped open revealing dull shaded eyes.. “Vampires....dumped me.   Called one stupid for biting a wolf.”   The words that had played there were in her brain and randomly things were coming to her.  Unsure if it was true or not because her mind wasn't as sharp as it could be.

She would listen though about the fact her body was going through a change, and she had a choice...die peacefully or she had to embrace the life of a vampire of the line of her attackers.   But really she had to much of a fight, mentally at least right now, to be animated and not in the ground, and sadly her expressions were so weak but she took it all in.   Swallowing on a dry but no longer parched throat she would respond.   “Please provide the blood.   I understand I will be embracing existence as a vampire of the line of my attackers.”  She swallowed.....the words as they came out were scratchy almost...”Not ready to die peacefully yet.”  It was a choice...and she had not just jumped because how she felt right now, death might be a sweet surrender...but she wasn't one to surrender.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Arcadia Caughey Sat Jul 29, 2017 12:09 am

Normally the mention of home created a spark of vitality, fueled by the joyful thought of returning to a place of such comfort. When no such emotion stirred in the woman, Arcadia chose not to press the matter, not right now. A nod followed, when the woman shared that she didn’t know her attackers. “No matter at the moment, lass, they’re long gone.” Beyond the faint stir of a small animal’s heartbeat and scent nearby, as far as Arcadia could tell there were no others here.

A matter that may cause mystery later, however, once the woman had fed and her transition was complete.  There were many lines of vampires, each with their own strengths and limitations, and it was usually the one who brought a new vampire into the fold that taught them about their blood. A faint, private smile curled the corners of Arcadia’s lips as she remembered providing such instruction to Donald. It was not so very long ago - he was only a few delicious years into the blood and every minute with him was a gorgeous luxury. It made eternity that much sweeter.

That hint of a smile was exchanged for a look of deep contemplation when the woman said more about the events that transpired.  Were her words meant to suggest that she was a wolf?  It would certainly explain some small peculiarities, such as her scent, but how the blood interacted with such a phenomenon...Arcadia had never been witness to such before so she had no idea. Needless to say, it was enough to make her hesitate to be the offering that would instigate that change.

But ultimately, it was not her choice to make, and the woman was understandably firm in her desire to live. So, she would get a chance to see just how much of a ‘forest angel’ Arcadia really was, as she thought it best to offer forth blood that wasn’t muddled with a vampiric line of its own. It required releasing the precarious internal latch that held back the vitality of her divinity, which these days was a latch that needed little nudging to spring open.

All that was required was acceptance for the flood gates to open. The glamour that Arcadia used to maintain her appearance of choice shattered with a flash of radiant golden light that lit up the night like a beacon before fading to a more reasonable radiance around her immediate person.  Not only did it illuminate the sweet tendrils of wind that always surrounded her, lazily moving through her aura, but it was an exquisite match for the gold of her hair, and the deep sunlit hue of her complexion, and the shining sparkle of her now golden irises. Forest angel wasn’t quite right, but there was certainly something going on, wasn’t there.

The release of her potent natural energy always ignited the beat of her heart, the rise and fall of her lungs, and thus drove the beast in her blood into deep hibernation; this meant that she no longer had fangs to speak of and her harvesting knife was required. Always kept in the drawstring pack she carried with her, Arcadia’s longstanding knowledge as a healer prompted a wise decision when it came to where she used the knife to place the cut on her arm.  Once made, the bleeding wound was offered forward to weakened woman.

It was up to her now to follow her choice through.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Liberty Jean Thu Aug 31, 2017 10:38 pm

When she was told that her attackers were long gone, she let out a sigh of relief, at least that would be the best guess of what it was.   Her voice was still sounding as if she could use a clean bathtub of water poured down her throat.   Her attackers had dumped her a distance from here, and left her for dead, funny enough.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, she would not have such a luxury of learning from the blood line that had put this into motion.   It was going to be a learning process but it wasn't something she would back down from.

One did not go about speaking of what one was, especially not in any of the areas she frequented, so the fact that she just was babbling things out to Arcadia had to show she either trusted the female, or she really did think she was a trust worthy forest angel!   And in that aspect she had alerted Arcadia to what she was before the bite, which would give Arcadia quite a bit of information with out quite saying it.

A very firm choice, she did not want to leave yet, she wanted to live.   Perhaps not live in the same way that others did, but it would be her life, and one that she would enjoy instead of being down in the dirt or wherever the shell of her body would end up.

The golden light that lit up the night a moment, had her eyes shutting closed against the brightness, after however long she had been in this state it was much much to much!   But there was something so changed about the woman that had been there and helping her out.   She took in a breath when she opened her eyes and she had a soft gasp of surprise.   “Is this your natural forest angel look.”  Yep, even as she said it her voice was getting a bit raspy.

Laying helpless on the forest floor wasn't her normal place to be found, but her eyes were on Arcadia when she took out the harvesting knife, and she had a moments thought of was this the wise choice, because if the forest angel decided to go dark, she had no energy to even put up a fight.  But when the forest angel used the knife on herself to get the blood, as soon as the smell of the blood was on the air, her stomach made a large hungry sound, even as she let out a growl from deep in her throat.  When the wound was offered to her, she lifted her head enough, and she would place her lips upon the woman's arm and she would begin to drink from her.  A part of her mind was in a state of disbelief that blood of any sort would be something she was craving, part of her mind was trying to keep alert enough to read the ladies body language for when she was to stop taking any of the blood, but the majority of her was enjoying that sweet liquid that was swirling in her mouth and down her throat.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Should the woman’s attackers be foolish enough to return, chances were high that they would soon find themselves the newest trees of the forest. Such was Arcadia’s way - she had little empathy and less patience for miscreants who sought to profit or pleasure from the suffering of others. Only fitting, wasn’t it, that their punishment for their selfishness be to give back to those around them as part of nature’s great plan? So thought the forest angel, anyway. A line of thinking that had become more prevalent these days, now that she was more completely embracing her role in the great order of things...and somewhat embracing where she hailed from.

So she could not help the wry smirk that curled her lips when the woman asked after her appearance, but her melodic brogue remained as casual and unassuming as ever. “Aye..in a manner of speakin’.” And as was Arcadia’s way, those cryptic words were all she would say of that.

In her natural state of vitality, she made a far better meal, and when the woman quickly latched on to drink, her expression remained calm and inscrutable. It was certainly not the first time she’d been fed from, though it was without a doubt the first time she’d allowed a stranger access to her blood. The woman would find it quite potent, in a number of ways. Taste, for one, there was a sweetness to her blood that a discerning palette would be shocked to liken to ripe apples. Heartiness, too, Arcadia’s blood came from a sturdy people who were known for their strength and stamina. And potency, finally, there was a considerable amount of magical energy that buzzed through Arcadia’s being, a current all its own. A fine mixture to bring a person back from the brink.

She chose to look at this moment no differently than administering any sort of medical care, which meant that between them she was the one who had the authority to choose the dosage. It would not do the woman’s feeding habits well, after all, if she was allowed the luxury of drinking too long and too deep. While she wasn’t stingy, when the time came that she felt the woman had enough to for her body to facilitate the rest of the change, her wind put deceivingly gentle pressure down on the woman’s shoulders as she took her wrist away. Just in case the woman had a mind to fight for more, Arcadia was seeking to set that boundary in a clear, but non-violent way.

Oh, the woman's attackers were not so stupid, but then again, they did believe that the woman had perished which was why they had dumped  her.  Surely the transformation her body was undergoing would be the end of her, although, if they had any clue it would not have been they would have kept her on their side of things.   Although just for knowledge sake Liberty Jean would rather much like them to come back and become trees.

The smallest of nods when the forest angel did respond that it was her natural look in a manner of speaking.   Of course, she wouldn't be able to comprehend it much further than the words that were given, there was no real thought of hmm what does she mean by that.

If it made the woman feel any better, never in her life did Liberty Jean think she would be drinking a strangers blood, or really any blood.   Okay not counting when you slice your finger, and your natural reaction was to slip your digit into your mouth because that makes it all better!    But she was drinking the blood that the forest angel was so kind to provide to help with this transition that was happening.    It was shocking how good it tasted, almost as if it wasn't really even blood, at least she could tell herself that in her head right!

She could feel herself coming back, feeling a surge of something moving from her veins and it was not a bad feeling at all, almost as if she herself wished those that had left her to die had indeed come back...but she wasn't quite there yet.  When the Forest Angel decided she had enough she did feel the wind with the pressure though she had no clue it was the wind..and a soft little whimper but she didn't try anything to keep the forest angels blood flowing.

Her eyes which had been dull now were bright and almost violet as they looked over the forest angel, her hair which had looked murky and dirty no longer looked as bad and one could see the bright red color that it was hiding.   Her flesh was turning from a dusty on deaths door to one that had a vibrant life inside.    The girl looked to whom she called the forest angel and shot her a grin, there was still some weakness in her...but it was nothing compared to how she had been found, she could actually move now!   “Thank you.  I...am sure that I should have more to say...but I fear I don't have words.”   Truth there, Liberty Jean was just so shocked with how everything worked out, and she knew if she had been found by someone other than the forest angel that things could have gone so many different way!

The whimper was heard, but Arcadia didn’t indulge it with a response. Instead, she sat back on her knees, calmly cleaning the blade that she used to make the incision before she slipped it back in her pack. In that way, she’d always been a tough teacher - no matter the topic, she expected those who learned from her to also learn discipline. Certainly that was a muscle that needed to be firmly flexed if one was going to live among others as a vampire.

Brushing herself off and slipping her pack over her shoulder, Arcadia stood. There would be no lingering sight or smell of blood, as the cut that she’d made on her arm had already healed - a product of the life that had the woman calling her a forest angel. But this unexpected turn of events had Arcadia’s mind far from the duties which brought her to this forest in the first place. Instead, she looked the woman over with her golden gaze, a fact she did not bother to hide, marking the changes in the woman that signaled that the transition was on its way to competion.

The woman’s words brought a slight, knowing smirk to her lips. “If I might, I think the words you’re lookin’ for are, ‘what now’?” Her inspection finished, Arcadia’s eyes sought the woman’s as she made that suggestion. “What you feel twistin’ and turnin’ in your body is only the beginnin’, lass, and tonight is only the first night of what can be a long period of adjustment.  How ye handle yourself in the comin’ days, weeks, even years, will deeply shape who you’ll become for the rest of what might be a very long life.  Some vampires carry the blood; others, the blood carries them away.” It was a very polite way of referencing the potential for an individual to lose themselves to the thirst, to their newfound beastly instincts, or to the madness that could come with the loss of many things which had previously made them human.

Her gaze shifting, Arcadia’s senses shifted outward to the forest that surrounded them, before her attention turned upward to study the sky. “I can’t speak with certainty, as I don’t know the blood of the ones who brought this upon you, but for most exposure to the sun proves damagin’, often fatal. It’ll be sunrise in a few hours time, ye really should think about headin' inside somewhere safe.”

Liberty Jean had looked over at them a good moment and her eyes were watching the forest angel and what she was doing.  As she stood up, LJ kept a glance there as there was no scent of the blood anymore and before it was very noticeable.    She had a few funny feelings inside but she figured it was all part of what was going on, her body accepting the vampire portion of whatever sort of hybrid she was going to be.

When she seemed at a loss for words and the forest angel filled them in she gave a soft nod of her head.  “That sounds bout right.”   She really wasn't sure what now, she had been wanting to survive more than anything but now she was going to be able she hadn't thought that far in advance.  LJ was taking in all the words that the forest angel was speaking her head was nodding here and there as she knew she was going to have to figure out how to handle the change.   “Thank you for the words Forest Angel.  I am not sure how it will happen when the blood becomes stronger, but there are things I should be on the look out for and I appreciate the heads up.”

She frowned.  “I have no clue on how I would react with the sun either.  Not thinking I would want to chance it just yet.”  That was a truth the fact she would hate for the forest angel to save her for her to go poof in the sun.  “Is there somewhere you would suggest I go...I have not a clue where I am currently.”  I mean the forest angel saved her so she would have to continue trusting her right.   That wasn't an untruth and that had stayed with her since before even meeting the forest angel when she was crawling in the forest before the passing out.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Arcadia Caughey Sun Oct 29, 2017 2:11 pm

Arcadia did an excellent job of stifling a wry snort when the woman addressed her as forest angel again. Instead she smiled, one of those cryptic, knowing smiles that left much unsaid. "Most call me Arcadia." Was it still most these days? Such was not math that she cared to do. Suffice to say that despite her ‘greater responsibilities,’ most of her days were still spent with Adrian in his homeland, or with Donald at their clinic, or in the wilderness as she was now.

Arcadia turned, gesturing in the direction she’d originally come from.  There was a path that was barely discernable because of the overgrowth, likely due to lack of use. She led the way, working to keep her brisk steps to a reasonable pace so the woman could follow her without trouble. “The best thing you can do to keep on top of your mind in this new life ye have ahead is to keep on top of your thirst. Drink daily, drink early, and I’d recommend drinkin’ from a vein over a bottle. It’ll do a finer job of fortifyin’ you and quietin’ your thirst.”

Despite the periodic tangle that invaded the narrow path, the woman would have a front row seat to the uncanny expertise with which Arcadia moved through the woods. Each movement seemed instinctual, whether it was a step of her foot, a shift of her torso, or a bend of her shoulder. All done with little sound made - quite impressive considering the twigs and dead leaves that were littered over the ground  just waiting to betray a traveler. She was clearly in silent communication with all that surrounded them, in addition to leading them back to civilization. With Arcadia leaving the way, the travel wouldn't take as long as the woman might expect. Untraveled as it was, this was a more direct route to where Arcadia was about to suggest they go.

“I own a medical clinic in the city proper, and my suggestion is that you spent the day there until sundown tomorrow.” Even though she glanced at the woman over her shoulder, she still flawlessly maneuvered below a low hanging branch just ahead of her. “We can settle you in a comfortable room, give ye a change of clothes and a freshen up if ye like, and then m’ colleague can have a sit down with you and help you determine what gifts and challenges come with the particular strain o’ blood that’s brought you into this life.” She thought the exercise would do Donald well, as one who’d been given the blood only a few years ago. “The city itself is hospitable enough, used to folks of all creeds and kinds, with plenty o’ places to set up temporary residence if that's what ye desire."

And if the woman wasn't keen on that plan, at least the edge of the woods wasn't long ahead.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Liberty Jean Fri Nov 10, 2017 6:29 pm

Well she had no name for the woman, and in truth, what was to imply to her she was not an forest angel?  She was in the forest where she had been dumped, she offered her help, not sure if there was an ulterior motive or not, and she was what had kept L.J. From slipping to a place she didn't want to be, completely dead.   But when she said her name she would think a moment.  “I am very glad I have met you Arcadia.”  Not recalling if she had offered her own name besides almost dead girl in the forest L.J. Looked to Arcadia.  “I'm Liberty Jean, but most of my friends just call me, L.J.”   At least the friends she used to know, not sure how the pack would feel if she came back as she was now.

When Arcadia turned and gestured she looked towards that way and did notice that there was quiet a bit of overgrowth, and yet she had that feeling after what she saw that the woman knew what she was speaking of.  Taking in all of the words she was given, letting them move into her now awake brain, she gave a nod of her head.  “So you are saying that there are people that will willing let someone drink from them?”   It was a whole new world for this little hybrid now.  “But I think that all sounds like good advice not that I am one to know for sure, I just have to trust that you know what you are speaking of, and I do.”  She nodded her head.

But she watched as the woman in front of her moved along and there wasn't really much sound from anything, and well the way she was going, L.J. Was doing her best to follow suit, though she was careful where she walked the best she could be, the lady's name might be Arcadia but Liberty Jean was convinced she was still a forest angel.  And she did not want to tick off the woman who basically saved her life, she had some brains in her head, thankfully.

As the words tumbled from Arcadia she thought of that one.  “I would appreciate that.”  She would appreciate the woman letting her stay somewhere that she would assume was safe, why save her life to kill her, that didn't make sense to her.   “I really don't wish to be a bother but that does sound rather nice right now.”  She nodded her head as she moved, still not sure what all was going on with her.   “I will  have to explore and figure that all out, seeing I don't think I can go back home, to many questions, and not thinking my pack would be happy to have whatever I am around.”  She frowned only a moment but decided not to dwell on such thoughts, because that would not be beneficial to her state of mind, and that was important in letting this change complete as it needed to do, she knew she would need to be strong of mind as well as everything else.

So she would follow this forest angel, Arcadia, because she had not too!

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Arcadia Caughey Sat Nov 18, 2017 4:33 pm

When Liberty Jean said she was glad to have met her, Arcadia smiled one of her cryptic, ghostly little smiles. As she’d said, the path of being a vampire was a long one, and in that way Arcadia didn’t think she should be thanked for her services just yet. “Where are ye from, exactly?” As this was Rhy’din, Arcadia was prepared to hear this one was from any number of exotic lands. She herself didn’t originate here, not by a long shot. “And where are your friends?”

Arcadia turned her eyes back to the path ahead, perhaps to hide a laugh that was in danger of slipping past her lips. “That’s a complicated question you’re askin’, lass. There are some who will offer their neck to a vampire the moment they meet, aye, for reasons that are personal to the nature of their desires. But the blood also changes a person, enhances their appearance, their natural charms, and gives them powers t’ boot. All o’ that combined makes them more desirable than they ever were in their mortal life. Which in turn makes many folks inclined to offer themselves up for the experience, especially when a vampire puts those charms and powers to work at makin’ the feedin’ feel enjoyable for the one who’s servin’ as the meal.”

Glancing over her shoulder at Liberty Jean, she added, “Y’ should ask Donald about all that, when we get to the clinic.” She wove Donald’s name into the conversation seamlessly, as if he’d always been a part of the discussion when that was hardly the case. “He’s only been a vampire for a couple o’ years, still learnin’ the ropes in some ways, so he could speak more accurately on the subject.” As opposed to Arcadia, who’d been a vampire for near two decades now. Of course, she’d never offered up to Liberty Jean that she was a vampire, preferring for the time being to be considered a mere forest angel. Besides, she thought it would do Donald well to have to teach another vampire how to settle in.

The edge of the woods was in sight. It would take a short walk through some overgrown, browning brush that reached up to their knees to get to the road that ran parallel to the boarder of the forest. Once there, Arcadia gestured to the left as she lead them in that direction. “As ye can see, this road leads into the city – New Haven. We’ll come upon the clinic first, but were you to continue down this road you’d walk straight into the city proper.” Of course Arcadia had lobbied to have the clinic closer to the city limits, and to the woods. When given a choice, she always chose to be close to nature.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Liberty Jean Sun Nov 19, 2017 9:43 pm

Those words could end up biting Liberty Jean in the butt but well she didn't have a clue on that so that was not a bad thing.   There would be many things for L.J. To learn on this new path that she chose to take, not that there was to much of a choice, death or become a hybrid, we have a winner!   And she looked towards her.  “A small town in New England...but I have been visiting pack members in Rhy'Din, though I am afraid I can't go back and find them now.”  She frowned because of what she was.   She sucked in a breath before she looked to her and well it was something.   “My friends here are not going to think to kindly on me now.   They don't mix with vampires.”  She frowned at that one, but she didn't mean anything negative by it, it just was how it worked out, and she had no clue about Arcadias vampire side either.

And she was following Arcadia and being rather careful in the steps trying to follow the other ladies but one of them had a lot more practice at it than the other.  But well she wasn't sure what type of complicated but she listened as Arcadia was speaking and she let out a soft breath of a sigh.   “It sounds like I have a lot to learn about this whole vampire thing.”  She meant that one.

But as she continued to follow along with her she was listening and she gave a soft nod.  “I will be sure to ask Donald about it.”  Whomever this Donald was he sounded as if he would have some good knowledge for her to soak up.  “I can understand that and if he is willing I will be glad to have another vampire to pick his brain.”  She meant that and she wasn't sure what was going to happen to her but she hoped that the vampire side would settle more peacefully with her wolf side.  Probably a good thing Arcadia wanted to be considered a forest angel because L.J. Was pretty set on that.

As they moved she kept looking around the area and she was taking it all in.   But she nodded her head when she heard that the left lead to the city New Haven, not a city she had heard of before.  “New Haven?  I haven't heard of there before.”  She meant that one.   And she thought a moment...”So once I leave the clinic I can take the same road into the city of New Haven.”  She had figured that out but she still planned on going to the clinic to stay for the time that Arcadia had suggested, meet this Donald person, pepper him with questions, and go from there.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Arcadia Caughey Wed Nov 22, 2017 12:55 am

“Earth.” An acknowledgement that she knew the place that Liberty Jean had named. That particular part of the planet was lush with forests, land she had no doubt tended to before at some point or another. “This realm, they call it a nexus. You can find folks from any number of planets makin’ roost here. Which means you’ll likely run up against some wolves who stand against vampires like your pack, and some who embrace vampires as sure as kin. This is a tricky place that way. Hard t’ know where anyone stands.” One of the reasons that Arcadia tended to keep her personal business personal - everyone tended to have an opinion here that they had no problem sharing like an expert. That was often Arcadia’s experience, at least.

She glanced over at LJ, one of those cryptic little smiles upon her lips. “That depends on how much ye like learnin’.” There was a time when she used to lobby heavily for learning to anyone who would listen, but these days she’d taken a step back, and let folks make their choices as they walked their individual paths. The most important lessons could only be best learned when one was ready, after all.

“He’ll be willin’.” Gaze back on the road ahead, her smile grew as her thoughts turned to Donald. “He’s a fine doctor, and a fine man.” Arcadia didn’t tether herself to just anyone, yet she and Donald were connected in a number of ways, their practice and the blood being two of them. She had brought him into the darkness, but he was still one of the brightest lights of her life.

Turning off the road, Arcadia led Liberty Jean up the walkway to the front entrance of the clinic. It was a four story building that was built in a size and an aesthetic that was warm and welcoming like an inn. While there were lights shining through the windows that faced them on the first floor, the majority of the rest of the windows were dark. It was late enough that the late shift had ended, though there was always someone on duty in case of an emergency. Tonight, that was Donald.

On a normal night, she’d reach out to Donald through the blood and tug on their connection. Whenever she opened the floodgates on her truth, however, her golden energies pushed the beast in her blood aside and silenced it. So her voice would have to do. “Donald?” Called loudly in the direction of the stairs, as she expected he might be up in his office. If he was properly using his senses, he’d be able to smell the shift in her scent, and catch the beat of her heart or the sound of her breath. “I have a lass with me who could use your assistance!”

A wind blew about the first floor, originating from Arcadia, and as it swept the walls it lit each of the lanterns one by one. Arcadia gestured to the sitting room to her left, which was furnished more like a living room than a traditional waiting room. “Make yourself comfortable, lass. Seems it’s nice and quiet here tonight.”

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by DrDonaldBlake Thu Nov 30, 2017 11:55 pm

The Good Doctor Blake  was currently lounging in the  staff rec center.  It wasn't much, but Donald thought it was important to have a place to relax and unwind As it was, Donald , the Security guard, and the night nurse were all lounging in various states of comfort. Donald was draped dramatically over the couch,  reading a book on the office e-book.  The Security guard was watching  the cameras carefully, while the nurse was dozing on a cot.

Arcadia's call perked him up."Alright Claire, up up... " He stood up and tossed the  device he was holding at the woman. Who cursed him in french as she stood up, tossing the device back to Donald. Catching it Donald grinned. " Prep exam room 1. Then the O.R... There's  a patient incoming..." She  said something else but went off to do that task. Meanwhile Donald grabbed a large red book bag and rushed out to greet the women.

When he appeared, the pair would find that Donald eshewed scrubs as normal wear in favor of something that looked a bit nicer. And the button down and nice pants probably did look nice when he started his shift, twelve hours ago. Currently, he looked rumpled thought his eyes were keen and alert and his smile came easily when he noticed saw Arcadia. "Welcome back."

His eyes shifted to the woman with Arcadia he gave her a smile and a nod nod."Hello. I"m Doctor Blake. Are you hurt... or are you feeling sick?"His tone was firm, but kind and as he spoke he was setting the pack down, pulling from pockets  various objects with he stuffed into the pockets of his lab coat before standing  with a stethoscope. "I'm going to test your heart rate... Don't worry, it'll be alright" Donald smiled again as he stepped up to the woman  he put the stethoscope into his ears and took her hand.  leaning closer to get a good look at her eyes, watching  as he pressed the stethoscope to her wrist...When he heard nothing. Donald turned an amusingly confused look back at Arcadia."Hey Arcadia...Did you...?"  he let that hang there, tilting his head back to their new guest.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

Post by Liberty Jean Tue Dec 05, 2017 9:20 pm

Liberty Jean nodded to the Forest Angel at that when she said Earth, because it's where she was from, and Arcadia knew of it.  Her ears were listening into the words that were being spoken about the realm they were in being a nexus and that people from many planets were around there.   L.J. Nodded to her at that one.  “So it's a good place to play one's cards close to their vest.”  That was the life lesson she was taking from Arcadia on that one.

When she made that little cryptic smile and said that, L.J. Almost laughed, but she shook her head just a bit.  “Depends on the subject how much I like to learn.”  She was honest, if you wanted her to learn about what was going to help her in the long run sure, want her to learn anything that had to do with maths you had a good chance you would lose her, except story problems oh she loved them!

She followed along rather well with Arcadia trying to step where the other had as she had an odd feeling that it was the safest when following an forest angel.  When she said he would be willing she was rather hopeful because the whole vampire thing was so foreign to her and now it was part of her as sure as her wolf was.   So weird.   “So is he a forest angel like you?”  Yeah she asked that about Donald why wouldn't she?

Moving with Arcadia still as they went towards the front entrance of the clinic before entering and L.J. Let her eyes look around the place that she could see, and it wasn't such a bad thing.   She was quiet and almost moving from foot to foot as she stood in place as Arcadia called out to Donald.    And then she was looking towards the sitting room that she was gesturing towards, and she would nod to Arcadia much like a lost child for the moment now that they were back in civilization and she was unsure of herself.   She lifted her violet orbs over towards Arcadia.  “Thank you.”  The words weren't just words they held feeling that one could tell she meant it, but before she got to far into the room she heard the hello and turned to face Dr. Blake as he was introducing himself.

Dr Blake must be the Donald that Arcadia had told him about, so she didn't immediately tense up, she was still going on the fact that the forest angel saved her and she didn't think she did it to lead her to her doom.   That would be silly.   When he asked if she was hurt or confused she glanced to Arcadia before looking back to Dr Blake.  “Confused....I don't think I a hurt anymore....not feeling ill either...not at the moment.”  She wasn't sure how to answer and she was watching as he was pulling things from his pockets which had her lips kicking into a bit of a smile.  But then he was coming towards her with the stethoscope and she stayed calm at hat one, and well she didn't freak out at all so there was that, and if he kept it there to long he would hear an odd sound randomly from the wolf.    But when he said that about the whole did you...”Oh!  The Forest Angel didn't break harm me.”   Thinking that's where he was going because she had no clue about Arcadia over all!

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

“M’ likely not the best person to give you guidance on that, lass,” Arcadia cast a brief ghost of a smile in Liberty Jean’s direction. “Rare is the moment that goes by where I’m not keepin’ all m’ business close.” Oddly enough, it was just as possible that those words were a gross understatement as it was that they were an inflated exaggeration. She was an enigma that way, as changeable as the direction of the winds that she’d been wed to so long ago. Many a person found her harder to crack open than a stubborn clam, however, that much was true.

Donald was one of the few who’d never had that trouble. When he appeared, Arcadia did her best to temper the tickled grin that itched to break free. “Evenin’...Donald.” She was about to call him by her private name for him, but she pushed through that urge in the name of keeping this moment professional. She did indulge by sending a bit of wind in his direction, the invisible sliver of air giving him an affectionate caress on the back of the neck. He wore that rumpled look with natural charm, and her golden gaze stole a moment to drink in that familiar sight. She said and did nothing more, though, so that Donald could focus on his new patient.

She watched the exchange with amusement, breaking her silence after Donald’s question to belatedly answer the one that Liberty Jean had put to her a few minutes ago. “No, lass, Dr. Blake is no angel of the forest. Like you, he’s a vampire.” That information was delivered in the same smooth, reserved brogue that Arcadia had used all night.  She certainly did manage to radiate a calm bedside manner when she put her mind to it, this whole evening with Liberty Jean was an illustration of that. “Which is why he’s well-equipped to help you discover the ins and outs of your particular lineage, and to teach you what you need to know to get on with your new life.”

A tush of her tongue followed as she gave Donald a chiding look. “And I’d think you’d know me better than that.” Considering he’d had to twist her arm for years in order to convince her she wasn’t selfish in her desire to make him one of her blood. She wasn’t the sort to do turn folks willy nilly. “The ones that attacked were the ones to give her the blood. All I’ve administered to her is her first meal, which is why m’ like this.” A flick of the wrist served as a self-referential gesture, drawing attention to her radiant appearance. “So she’s certainly had a fortifyin’ feast.” Considering who she truly was and the purpose behind the wellspring of her power.

What The Heck Happened That Night! Empty Re: What The Heck Happened That Night!

With her heartrate uselessly taken Donald tossed the behind his neck, gripping either end of it as he shifted his weight to his left knee, It lead to a slightly off kilter stance. A left over mannerism from his days as a human when his right knee flared when  he put weight on it. " Well, all things considered, confused is a pretty understandable place to be... Though you're in good hands. Arcadia's the best..."

He trailed off though when Arcadia pointed out that donald was going to be the one to help the young woman. " ... I'm, good too though... I suppose. " He gave her a winning smile and went on.  "I hadn't thought about using that nick name before before, but that's not a bad one Arcadia, mind if I borrow it? Come on, Let's go somewhere  not in the waiting room" As he spoke he stepped around beside the woman, placing a hand around her shoulder and pulling her deeper into the clinic. "You know, being a vampire is pretty cool, You don't really need to sleep anymore, people naturally just kind of do what you say, and thanks to the wonder's of the internet, you won't ever forget what the sunrise is like. " He lead her to a lounge area, it wasn't the same as the staff lounge, but it did have some comfortable chairs, a vending machine and one of those single cup coffee makers. When she was in the room he motioned her to somewhere comfortable.

"Okay, so you were attacked, turned and you've already eaten... do you remember anything else about the attack? why were you in the forest, or did they take you there to do... what they did?"HE probably should let the local authorities know there was a roving group of vampries force changing people
