Sweetest Genius Gifts
When she had gone out doing running for Winston, she had found something that she had bought as well, for someone else. Did she have a sweetie? No. But she had a crush, and she was from Earth so it did not seem weird to her that she was buying a gift and a card, they had cards here for it. Maybe it was because of the influx of Earth Holidays here? People liked to celebrate things. It wasnt the opening and close kind of card, it was a small white card that read happy sweetest day across the top, with just enough room for you to write whom the gift was to and from.
She had ran into Gwen before she was leaving the Inn, and Gwen had passed her a package, with a please deliver this to Archer. Now Al wasnt going to be going out of her way for that was what she planned on taking the package she had, so it worked out. The package she had gotten from Gwen was wrapped in a green plaid paper, and was the size of a shirt box, holding it felt just like that as well. The other package was a bit different in shape from the previous one, but neither was rather heavy, and wrapped in a blue and green stripe.
Steps were taken the way she had gone every day, not that she was coping up to that, she had been delivering a picnic basket daily to the residence. She did not know if he had been eating the food or if Lumie had or if someone else had, just that she went like clockwork to pick up the basket and replace it with a new one. It was still morning so the picnic basket would not be delivered until later, but she wanted to get the gifts she had dropped off, she was unsure of what work would entail and so it was a before work deposit.
The blades of grass still had a bit of dew upon them. Once she reached the lab of the genius she paused, second thoughts, but she was not the sort that would listen to that little voice that says are you sure this is a good idea. What was the worse that could happen when you delivered a gift or two? At the door she would slowly set the packages down by the door, not where they would get stepped on but where they would be visible when the door opened. She did not ring the doorbell nor knock on the door, but she wasnt in ninja mode on the porch either, so someone inside might hear something and might not. Either way once she had the gifts set down she would slip off the porch and continue to work. Hands moving up to rub her arms a bit as she walked.
The gifts had a small bit of magic worked upon them, so that if someone picked them up and tried to take them away from the porch and not inside the house they would feel like a ton of bricks and go crushing downwards. Anyone could lift the gifts and move them into the house, or lift them straight up it was when they were moved the wrong way that it became impossible.
In the box from Gwen, it was indeed a shirt, a button down long sleeved perfectly tailored for a guy, shirt. She had the measurements from the shirt of his that she still had, and still slept in, on occasion. This shirt did not have tears in the back of it, and it was not white, it might look it at first, but it had a hint or two of blue in it. The second package, the one that had the small card taped to it with his name and her name on the top of it was a bit different. She was not sure he would like it but it had came to her so she went with it. She had gone into the next town they had a Science Store. And when she had seen him he was doing experiments, which to her meant test tubes. The box when he opened it would have two other boxes inside of it. The first box had a test tube rack that held three different size small test tubes with different widths, behind those three rows, was three more rows of larger test tubes. They were wrapped carefully to not break. The second box had a clamps for lifting said test tubes without having to worry about burning your fingers if you were using hot items or heating things inside of the test tubes themselves. The man at the Science store told her it was top of the line in test tubes and that each piece was made carefully to select and accurate measurements. She figured that test tubes needed to be replaced at some point of time, didnt they sometimes cloud up and what not? She really didnt know.

Re: Sweetest Genius Gifts
Most people didn't think about it, but while logic can be a great asset, it can also be a huge hindrance. Especially when it was the kind of logic that couldn't be shut off, that was ingrained and habitual, and that was the kind of logic Archer had. Not a lot of people were close enough to know about how logic really screwed up his sense of
well, living. He was a man who was literally stabbed in the back by his best friend and apprentice, and every single day of Elijah's duplicity that came before it was something he could never forget. So in that case, his logic and his memory joined together in the meticulous genius to create something less than savory - paranoia.
That's what kicked in the first day a picnic basket of food showed up on his doorstep. That night that he'd been headed out to Tir'Na'Nog was cut short when he saw the basket on the stoop, and he went back inside and shut the door. He hadn't even opened it that day, or touched it, so someone else must have had a feast if it was empty the next morning. Same with the second day, because it wasn't until the third day when a client rang on his doorbell that he'd opened his front door, stopping short in his greeting to stare at the basket which was in a slightly different place than before, but it still looked like a basket to him. Paranoia kicking in, Archer opened the door on the fourth day just to look and see if the basket was still there. On the fifth day, which was Lumie's weekly day to work at the lab, the two boys spent the entire day testing the contents of the basket.
Yeah, for poison. Between he, Arcadia and the Doctor the Order had been squashed last year, with no hints that they'd be rising again. But that didn't mean that this couldn't be the first hint. Archer was like a militant boy scout - better safe than sorry. Needless to say, they couldn't find anything amiss. But when the baskets kept coming in absolute anonymity, the now daily tests weren't able to squelch the genius' unease. Fear lived in the emotional plane, and Archer was just crap when it came to his emotions. Even if it was finally October, and the man had spent the majority of it his usual (mostly) functionally drunk self.
The day the packages came was the day that Archer was given the opportunity to potentially add up the 2 + 2. Because these packages came with a card. Alliyssa. Who'd been right, even when test tubes were put through the sterilizer regularly it didn't mean that they weren't susceptible to residue, general wear and tear and of course breakages. A scientist could always use more test tubes. But for once, Archer's mind wasn't lost in his lab. He was holding the card that came with the packages, thinking back. And once he thought back, he thought forward. It was time to get serious and test the new found hunch with this picnic basket thing out, and for that he'd need his suit jacket.
Once Archer was properly dandied up, he took a stroll through New Haven until he reached the Tel'Ranaemyn Inn. When he got there, he didn't go inside. He went around the back instead, to a certain blue box. It was time to see his brother. Or at most knew him, the Doctor.

Just as Archer was walking up to the Doctors famous Blue Box, he would hear running, fast running and then with a bit of failed Grace, the Doctor squeezed past Archer and into the blue box. closing the door behind him. only to open it right back up and offering Archer a bright beaming smile and he was absolutely casual as if he hadn't just ran like a crazy person into the TARDIS.
"Archer! Brilliant! How are you?" The doctor was wearing his signature suit, blue with silver pinstripes. a pair of red Chuck's on his feet he leaned against the door frame of the TARDIS looking really very dashing. but only for a moment before the Doctor stepped from his door and gave Archer a big squeezing hug. picking the man up in it. after a second The Doctor put him down and motioned him into the TARDIS. " Come in. " a glance around before he stepped back into the TARDIS, motioning him on into the TARDIS behind him.
