___Oh the adrenaline, such a sweet drug it was to her senses. A smile so haughty and cruel crossed her dark lips as she peered out from behind the turned over trash dumpster. "One... two... four..." she counted in her mind as she noticed the dark shapes behind white vehicles with flashing blue and red lights. A flash of light and whistle of air flashed by her eyes, forcing her to duck back behind her protective cover. "Ok, make that five. To bad he missed..." she mused to herself again, as she lifted her pistol in her right hand. Bringing her rubber soiled boots underneath her, she began the lunge out on the balls of her feet, the finely tones muscles of her legs tightened beneath the form fitting leather pants with corset style lacing along either leg that she typically sported, her arms shot out to to the side stretching her lilthe form out as she sprang from behind the dumpster, pistol aimed with the keen perfection her kin's reputation was known for. A gentle squeeze of the trigger sent three bullets to their marks, widdling down the amount of bullets whistling passed her as her left hand caught hold of the bottom rung of the fire escape she was aiming for, twisting her voluptuous form to flip up to the first iron balcony. Such an annoyance the rattle of gun fire was to her, the clumsiness of the weapon's design matched the typical skill of the one using it. Still even from her new perch that fifth shooter could prove at least a measure of amusement to her.

___Her new position on the fire escape was some fifteen feet in the air giving her a much more preferable point of view of the street below. From here she could see where the pretentious human was taking cover. The bulky Kevlar vest, and semi-automatic rifle in his hands marked him as a specialist of the local law enforcement. From behind the white vehicle, the red and blue flashing lights gave him the cover he needed to make it more difficult for her superior eye sight the trouble she had spotting him at first. "Could it be, the rivvils are learning?!" she spoke softly to herself as her mocking and cynical giggle escaped her lips in her own self amusement. Looking to her left she was satisfied by the precise work her Drow followers had completed this night. No evidence of Drow involvement was left behind, only that there was a break in at the local pharmacy would be reported on the human's highly inaccurate news broadcast. That was perfectly expected of the predictable human's fashion, especially since the pharmacy was just a front for the research laboratory in the basement of the building. She had ensured her other Drow that had accompanied her had left to rendezvous point already, and she herself would have been right behind them had it not been for the surprise party that welcomed them as they were trying to leave quietly. She did not like the idea of entertaining the thought of a traitor among her own kin, but then again that was as common place as breakfast in the morning in the life of a noble of her ancient race. It would not be the first time someone had leaked information and she knew it would not be the last.

___Reaching under her black hoodie she holstered her gun behind her back before quickly pulling free the inconspicuous attire she had on. Laying it out on the grated platform in front of her, delicate fingers poking out from the biker style gloves she wore carefully wrote the intricate runes into the fabric. Centuries of practice made into perfection allowed the spell's casting to be second nature to her while on the run. Slowly the hoodie swelled as if a balloon was filled with air inside of it, the illusionary double of herself came to life within moments before finally squatting next to her. Smiling mischievously in satisfaction of her work, she noted with amusement the half shaved head of her newest favored hair style on her mirror like image. Silent was her command to the illusion, sending it running back down the fire escape and a crossed the street to the alley she had just been hiding in. Her smile grew into a soft cackle as the crack of gun fire told her the bait was taken as she ascended the fire escape with all the silent grace she was known for to the roof above her.

___The cover of darkness and silence was all that she needed as she ran along the edge of the building's roof, leap with a the grace and expertise of a gymnast to the next. Two city blocks cushion between her and the human's law enforcement should be enough for her to drop back down to street level, and make her way through the underground tunnel systems that would lead her to the rendezvous point. Reaching to her leather harness around her shoulders, she was pleased by the weight of the pistol holstered at the small of her back, and the finely crafted whip coiled between her shoulders. The harness criss crossed over her chest in the front and down beneath the corset laced pants she wore, as the harness itself barely gave her any measure of this so called modesty humans seemed to embrace. The common taboo of nudity and sex among the majority of humans was a point of amusement among her kin for as long as she could remember. Perhaps that's why her surface cousins were so well accepted by the humans with their elegant and sensual style they loved to embellish about themselves. Idiots... all of them. Still the harness was what she preferred when traveling light and fast during the rare occasions she went to the surface. Finally, almost two blocks had been reached as she sprang from one roof to the next adjacent roof. Softly she sighed in a moment of relief, a moment she immediately regretted in letting her senses dull just enough to not have noticed she was followed until she heard the heavy thud and whistle of the grenade being launched. Time was a luxury she did not have, not even a second to think, so instinct coiled her toned muscles into a twisting dance through the open air of the alley beneath her. Heat, light, debris and a sudden numming sensation surrounded her as the grenade's explosion enveloped the building's edge right where she stood. Falling and dazed her mind wandered a moment in a second's contemplation. Time seemed to slow to her senses as she looked through her thoughts of the several centuries of her life to the events she had anticipated for this evening. She didn't know if she should be more irritated at her lapse in her awareness or at the sadistic amusement of what happen with her sudden death? Still it really didn't matter... she had lapsed in her perfection and that's all that really mattered now to her as the darkness of the alley and unconsciousness embraced her.

___"What was that sound? Birds?! Why am I hearing those little pip-squeaks now?" came her thoughts as she stirred. Laying precarious on her right side, she felt the cool touch of grass beneath her. "Vith!" she cried out to her surprise, the pain in her left side exploding in a hot and unexpected sensation, the feeling well past the point of the preferable pleasure that pain typically brought her, nothing was desirable about this sawing sensation along her left kidney. Clenching her teeth together she turned to come to her knees. Looking down to the grass she had been laying upon, everything slowly came into focus. Immediately around her were low laying foliage and trees surrounded the spot of grass soiled by the crimson red of blood. Reaching a crossed her finely toned abdomen with her right hand she pressed as firmly as she could to the wound, feeling three jagged points of metal protruding from her left side. Slowly she tried to stand, first her right foot... which only caused her to stumble and fall to one side, her shoulder hitting the trunk of a nearby tree rather ungracefully. The pain from the impact was dizzying, but that didn't matter as much to her as seeing to this wound was. The blood lose alone had become her priority to correct now.

___What puzzled her grimaced expression upon her face was how she ended up here... in this forested area. The pharmacy she had just run from was far from the glamorous Elven District her paler cousins enjoyed, and even still this was nothing like that pseudo paradise they deluded themselves with. Looking through the trees she noticed the side of a mostly wooden structure, and from the sudden rustle and movement of horses she could tell it was a stables. Past that she caught sight of a sign of some sort. Tel... Tel'Rana... something. It was elven though, which only made her growl more. Lolth was being cruel to her this day and playing tricks on her. Lovely, just lovely. Focusing passed the pain that was beginning to throb at her side, she slowly and silently made her way to the stable's edge. She'd have to move, and quickly if she wanted to avoid spooking the animals, and her steady loss of blood wasn't going to make it easy.

___Her mind worked the beginnings of another spell, simple to her level of training among her kin, as she softly blew a gentle breath of air over her left hand's dagger sharp nails. Placing the hand against the side of the stable wall she lifted herself onto the wall as if crawling on hands and feet up a softly graded slope, climbing its height with relative ease considering the circumstances. Once she had come to the edge of the stable's roof she could hear the rustling of the animals calm being disturbed. She had to hurry. Not wasting time to catch her breath that was being denied her from the bloody wound to her side, she made her way to the larger building. From the looks of it, it was an inn of some sort by her reasoning, which was perfect. Carefully she crouched below the first window she came to, looking inside. From the looks of the first two she came a crossed they were occupied, but no one was inside from what she could see. She had no desire to draw that much attention to herself, for what she had to do would likely draw enough of it by itself. Finally... a vacant room. The layout seemed simple enough, a bed, a dresser, and at least one chair from what she could see, yet no adjacent room that would indicate a washroom. Grimacing from the wound, she focused on the gentle coursing of her spell in her veins as she touched the brick near the window, again her fingertips of her left hand gripped the wall enough to lift her to be even with the window. One sharp kick of her boot cracked the edge of the window seal, the a slow push of her boot against the glass broke it open without the attention grabbing shatter that she was trying to avoid. Finally stepping into the room she fell to the floor as her balance was lost from suddenly being dizzy. Things were beginning to blur again as the blood loss was getting worse. For now though she was inside and presumably safe once she had set the room's chair to hinder the door from being opened. Where ever she was, it was going to be a long day...

Warden Jamison LeFey, had since his arrival here. Taken declared it his duty to insure that the Inn and surrounding cities where kept safer for the people who resided in it. This was different though then any other posting the Wizard had taken. Where as in his home, he was protecting what the other Preternatural call 'Vanilla humans'. Here, the lines where less black and white. Where back home, he might need to protect a young innocent human from the ravaging attack of a vampire. The tides here where far more equalized, what with their existence being common knowledge many people know how to fight back.

The Warden had been on his way back to the inn from a a rather uneventful patrol of the city, and per his routine he opted for a single walk around the grounds around the Inn, in order to ascertain any potential direct threats to the Inn. It was during this patrol tonight that movement, near the stables tugged at the corner of his vision. Though, in the cover of night, it was rather difficult to get a direct view of what he had seen. While logic told him that it had only been a horse, Jamison thought best to investigate the matter nonetheless.

Jamison watched for a moment. taking in a slow breath and closing his eyes. a bit of power whispered through his body, and Jamison opened his eyes again, the world was different when a wizard opened what he called his Third eye. In reality, it allowed a wizard to literally see aura's and wisps of Magical energy used, Jamison's real purpose in this action was to better use the moon's light, as the moon is inherently a trigger for many magical means, its light radiates a greater glow to those skilled with the Third Eye.

Where Jamison a faster man, he may have caught the young elven woman stealing away into what was now her sanctuary. as it was though, being that the old man walked with a heavy limp on his right leg. very much favoring the cane that he carried with him. all he was able to see where the fading threads of the spell she had cast to gain entrance into the room.

Watching the window for a moment, eyes left the sight and moved to count the number of windows , in order to determine the room's number. With that determined Jamison closed his eyes again, willing the Third Eye shut. and making his way towards the entrance of the Inn. When he was there the Warden offered the bell at the front desk a ring. he meant to ask whether or not the room in question was occupied.

It was a rare thing to see Airtia Cauthon around the Inn. Although she had family that resided within they were not in need of constant supervision and even if they were she was not one to give it.

The reason she was there at this particular time was because her cat, Tyger, had interesting tidbits of information about Gwendolyn's cat. And the girl Allissya "She could nae control it ye say. Per'aps this deems a closer look." Her voice trailed off as she suddenly felt one of her daughters Wards break. Since the day she had tinkered with De'Ryanna's threads around the Ledger she had been more in-tune to the rest of the security lines that were in place around the Inn. She didn't mind as it gave her such opportunities as this.

Where exactly the break was, was easily discovered but not an amateurs trick especially since the broken ward was mending. Pulling on her awareness of the Source she followed the threads - without touching them - to find where it was. First floor. And once she found the location of the break her own marker was placed so she could easily find it.  "Right now, there tis something else tae do."

Uncrossing her right leg from over her left knee the heel of the boot hit the ground with barely a sound, even as she stood from the chair she had been sitting in. The twin daggers resting on either hip were the only visible weapons (in her posession and they moved as though a natural part of her body). Calculated strides took her towards the entryway of the bar area, heading out into the hallway, and that is when she saw the man approaching the desk. He could be delta with easily enough.

The orange and black cat hopped down to follow. Staying behind Airtia he flicked his tail at the man. "Iffen ye are in need o' assistance then ye will 'ave tae tarry fer a few moments longer." Airtia said to him as she continued her way in and dragged two fingers across the top of the desk.

___Two small shards of twisted metal lay just behind her in the growing puddle of blood from her work to clear her wound of the shrapnel that had found it's home in her left side. Laying on her right side was proving difficult as the third shard was being particularly stubborn about being removed. Thankful that she had payed attention to her tutelage in the art of Arcana, the spell she had weaved before beginning to remove the metal shard provided her with just enough endurance for the task. Still her typically pampered life style had given her the benefit of a priestess's touch to help her in similar situations in the past, instead of having to rely on her own clerical methods. Chastising herself for her own weakness she hissed her irritation through grit teeth, closing her sapphire blue eyes tightly as she pulled the final shard free. Dropping it next to the other two on the wood flooring, only the slight ring of metal on the varnished boards told her of it's successful removal.

___The wave of relief was short lived as the shrapnel had provided her with some semblance of stemming the precious flow of life from running freely from her. Now that they were removed this was not the case, and even with her spell weaved within her lilthe form, it still had it's limitations. Keeping her eyes closed, she reached within her mind and soul, searching for the chaotic touch of her Goddess as she whispered the delicate words of her native tongue that would provide her with the means to make her body whole again. Being a High Priestess of her people, such a miniscule task would prove easily done, even without leaving a scar to mark the occasion with. Deep down within her soul and mind she reached only for the sudden realization to strike her, as suddenly as the shrapnel from the grenade had. She felt nothing. “It's gone... Lolth help me, I cannot feel your chaotic presence...” she murmured in her prayer, the chaotic comfort of her connection to her Goddess was gone... as cold as the touch of eternal death. She focused harder, reaching into the depths of her capabilities as a High Priestess of her kin groping for anything familiar. Finally, a touch of that Power... though far weaker then it should have been, it was still just enough to stop the bleeding.

___Exhaustion and sore were not the words she would have picked to describe how she felt, but at the moment it was all that she could have thought of. The wound at her side barely closed enough to stop the flow of crimson blood from her, she would have to find a way to bind it soon as it would continue healing in the more unsavory natural way. She grimaced as she knew this would mar her otherwise perfect beauty, with the touch of a scar.

___So much had happened in such a short amount of time. Being a creature of a people that thrived on chaos was the only comfort she felt for the moment. The sudden appearance of the law enforcement to an otherwise flawless strike, the unsettling arrival in “Wonderland” as she had begun to refer to this place she was to her own amusement, the precarious caring for the wound in a sanctuary that would likely cause her more trouble then she desired at the moment, and now... being cut off from her Goddess. An unexpected turn of events that lead into a chain reaction. She knew she wasn't completely safe, but she hadn't the strength to do much else except lie on the wood floor, in the literal bloody mess she was in.

Jamison was an extraordinarily patient man, he spent all of his time reading, how could one not be patient. but that reading helped him. The root word of Wizard is wise. Wizards know stuff... alot of stuff, and this one, he had the help of a greater spirit of intellect so that he did not forget anything he learned. which on served to increase his patience.

"Please, take your time, I merely wished to request the occupancy status of room 216, on the side of the stables" Jamison had never met this woman before. usually it had been Miss De'Ryanna that had greeted him at the front desk. Though watching this older woman, there may have been a resemblance, if only it was in how the woman carried herself.

Oh, and she had a kitty. Jamison had a rather great respect for cats. they where calculating, and smart, possessing rather profound problem solving skills. He liked them for that, eyes left the woman for a moment to fall to the cat, whom he would offer a smile and a nod of his head before eyes went back up to the woman, waiting for her answer to his inquiry. Hands resting on the top of his cane, which he kept in front of him in complete and total view.

Post by Airtia S. Cauthon Sun Aug 08, 2010 11:14 pm

Tyger jumped on top of the desk and his dark eyes looked steadily at the wizard, letting out a steady-long "mrow" even as he did. He sat and wrapped his tail around around his legs. Watching. This feline didn't care much for males so it was only natural that he was looking at Jamison with a look of contempt.

Whether or not Airtia knew or cared about what Tyger was doing was unsure as she was giving the man her own calculating look with her cool silver eyes. Weighing and measuring as she took in his appearance but there was something about him that told her he wasn't simply an old man. People had feelings about them, some called them aura's, and his was anything but feeble. Not to mention that he knew something had happened upstairs. While Airtia may be older than De'Ryanna it was hard to accurately pin-point her age as her long and extensive use of the Source had long since given her ageless features. Not to be confused with that of immortals - for she wasn't.

"Ye must be mistaken." Her voice was smooth and confident with the slightest of a small touching her lips, she didn't even bother to go for the Ledger. While her fingers upon the desk would silence the alert that someone was at the desk to touch the book would set off another. There was no reason to bring her daughter into this as she had a feeling she was better off wherever it is that she was. "There tis nae room with that number. Ye mean one 'undred and sixteen."

Her fingertips lifted from off of the desk and she began to walk away in even steps. "We shall see who tis there taegether as I was 'eaded there myself." Airtia said it as though the matter were already a done deal and he had decided that he was coming and expected him to do so. Arrogance? That wasn't something hard to believe but she was a female who did things on her own accord much of the time. Even Tyger turned his head when he heard she was leaving and hopped down to follow.

Of course, he didn't have to come and her pace was steady enough that he wouldn't have to hurry. Tyger would pass her and up the stairs he went.

Gawain's nose was always working overtime, and since he had come to see his son anyway, he was delighted to note that Airtia was there. He slipped up behind her, smiling and nodding to Jamison as he did so, and slipped his arm around her waist.

"Hello, gorgeous. What's going on? Wait....I smell blood, and a great deal of it....who's wounded?" His eyes went to Jamison, to Tyger, then back to Airtia. "The scent....someone has lost a great deal of blood, and they aren't human. Drow, unless I miss my guess. Which, as it turns out, I rarely do. I came to speak with Xavier, but our conversation will keep. What's going on?"

He stood back, seizing Saidin as he did so, and gave both of them a questioning glance. "Whoever has lost this much blood needs assistance. Lead the way, wife. Jamison, it is good to see you....did you by any chance see anyone come in? They'd be hard to miss.....when I say a great deal of blood, I'm speaking of enough to cause someone to be nearly insensate, if not comatose." He had been in countless situations where the scent of blood was involved, and given his heightened olfactory sense, he could not be wrong in this instance. Whoever was up there needed help, and quickly.

((Any Drow that is spoken in further posts will be translated for ease of the reader.))

___How saddening to see such a mess and know it was all her own blood, her cynical thought came to her mind. Propped up on her knees, cut the bed sheet into crude bandages was slow work but at least it was easier to bind her side this way. Having ruined the careful work that was taken to properly prepare the bed for someone to sleep in, the fine material of the off white bed sheet parted to her sharpened nail's work easily. The meticulous work but thankfully not demanding of what little energy she had left in her, but even still she felt the spell that granted her the endurance of a healthier person waning with each movement. Her arms felt heavier to lift and fingers more sluggish, but at least this wasn't her typical ritual work in her city's temple. As the humans liked to say “This isn't rocket science.” to bind a wound.

___Crawling to the far side of the bed from the barricaded door was easier to accomplish since she was on her knees already, though it proved to also be a slight test of her waning endurance, and the bandages she had fastened around her abdomen. “Bwael. ((Good))” she murmured to herself in satisfaction once she saw the bandages did not fall apart or blossom in crimson red of her having ripped open the wound again.

___Slumping down with her back against the wall, she stared at the disheveled bed. Barely a third of the size of the bed that she was far more used to sleep in, she couldn't help but chuckle to herself at the pathetic “comforts” this room allowed. The dull ache of her side was bearable for that moment of pain, so she let the chuckle grow into a haughty laughter as the thought drifted to the realize that others had likely had sex in a bed of this size before. How boring! Barely room to enjoy a single position let alone a third lover if desired. This place was so foreign to her senses yet what she expected of the usual surface culture. The thoughts drifted from one to the next, all stemming from the bed and all provoking her quiet laughter from enjoying the sudden amusement she had found in something so simple. “Lolth, I could use a glass of ulaver and some sleep.” she thought to herself, her mind drifting to the poisonous wine her kin favored that she hadn't had in centuries. Such a comfort the bubbly green liquor provided, even at the subtle burning sensation along her throat she remembered feeling from it. “Vrine'winith ol Mallia, dosst tluin natha wael... ((Stop it Mallia, your being a fool...))” she chastised herself, snapping her attention back to reality from the cynical moment of amusement. Just in time to it seemed... from outside the door she sensed movement, the subtle thud of approaching footsteps, her instinctual sense of another close by, that had been cultivated in the pitch darkness of the depths of the UnderDark, and she was not about to ignore that feeling. Checking her harness quickly of the few weapons she had left, she pursed her lips in irritation. Half a clip of bullets, her beloved whip, and only her Arcana spells to rely on. Oh yes, today was turning out to be just peachy.

Jamison offered a smile to the woman. "Indeed, I'm terribly sorry."Jamison shook his head and tapped his temple."Sometimes the smallest things escape me." IT was something did often, self depricating statements about himself. Just small little mentions. When she moved to step out form behind the counter and he noticed the husband step out as well, binding himself so closely to his wife. Such an action lead the wizard to say the following.

"Oh, I'm terribly sorry, I did not mean to interrupt an intimate moment. Let us hope this is resolved quickly" a small smile before Jamison paused and took a step ahead. one step up the stairs. " I saw some rather complex spell weaving. Whosoever has taken to stealing entrance into our little home. wounded or not can still be rather dangerous. Allow me to serve point. I'm rather skilled in defensive spell weaving." Jamison turned from them and continued up the stairs. He sounded like a police officer; keeping his tone level but not rude. despite the fact he was wearing a limp he still managed amazing time up the stairs. at the top of the stairs, The Warden offered a look back at the pair. allowing them to catch up with him.

"Are either of you skilled in first aid?" Despite the fact there may have been a danger. Jamison there was still someone hurt, it may have been the burglar or a hostage. one couldn't be sure. they would also hear Jamison speaking quieter, so as not to alert whoever it was. Not that it did much good, elves usually had pretty sharp hearing. While he waited for their answer he started down the hall. counting the doors as he passed them, within his mind he was matching them up with windows outside. he stopped and leaned close to the door, his ear turned to the room. Listening to the person inside. She, it was definitely a she in there. at least one she. Drow was not a language Jamison was directly knew. But it was rather similar to a language he did know. and she could have been two people, one bound and the other a capture. the hand not holding onto his cane rose and pointed at the door before holding up two fingers.

Lolthian in Wonderland ((Open)) Empty Re: Lolthian in Wonderland ((Open))

Post by Airtia S. Cauthon Tue Aug 10, 2010 4:12 am

She didn't know this man, the one who appeared to be feeble and carried a cane, but she had nothing bad to say about him. He didn't whine or make excuses and he didn't make any aggressive attempts to play braggart. And yet. . .

The rest of her train of thought was set off course when she felt, before hearing, Gawain enter into the area. It may have been hard to notice but her step slowed to allow for the impact she knew was coming. Tyger, naturally, simply ignored the man and decided he was better off with the Wizard, he even gave what couldn't be anything less than a disgruntled growl and flicked his tail. Clearly the cat had better things to do than keep in step with the Wolf.

Even if Gawain's arms around her waist were pressing in on the blades at her side Airtia would wince or squirm from the pressure - it was nothing new , he only would not have as soft a touch as he may have wanted. This, of course, meant she had to completely stop in her progress up the steps. Her hand came down to pat at his arm and a sarcastic smile was given to the one who had passed them. Seems the old man had humor.

"Naething tae interrupt that cannae be picked up at anot'er time." And the smile she had given Jamison was still in place and directed to Gawain. "It tis as he said, someone 'as tripped one o' yer daughters Wards and 'as entered a room." Making no mention as to where Ryanna may or may not be.

A piano tap of her fingers to Gawain's arms so he would know to release her as they had to continue progress up the stairs. "As ye said, the person may need 'elp. Ye need tae let me go." Even as she was saying those words Airtia started to progress upwards with the belief that he wasn't going to insist on holding her downstairs.

Up with the Wizard, currently, was Tyger, and though he didn't care for him he liked him better than the other, and this was where the action was. Therefore, he was there, and he was being out of the way by standing parallel of him, his tail staying idle for the moment as his head was cocked to the side. Tyger could hear breathing and if he felt like talking he would have told the man that it was only one person.

The distance from the main floor to the first wasn't very long and Airtia was able to hear Jamison ask if either of them could heal even if she wasn't fully at the top of the steps yet. "I know first aid." looking over to Gawain she added, "Being that the one in the room 'as magic, I would nae use any tae 'eal 'er." When she said that it was in low tones for she caught Jamison wishing them to silence.

For now Airtia would stay at a few feet from the room door once she reached it, leaving Gawain the opportunity to take a stand besides Tyger or the other man if he wished. She was going to block the forward entrance.

Right foot pushed forward in a slight cross over her left and her hands were down at her side. Silver eyes were steady focused at the door.

Gawain took her unspoken cue and nodded, standing aside. With a nod to Jamison, he released the Source, and stood ready. As for Air's comment...."You better believe it, babe. We'll pick it up as soon as possible..." He grinned, looking to her with the admiration and love that came from knowing your mate inside and out, and knowing they know you the same way.

His head turned to Jamison, and he gave him a questioning look. "Any idea what has happened, friend? I'd hate to know that someone has found themselves injured....but I'm here to help in any capacity I can. As the saying goes, I am at your disposal." With another smile and nod, he looked back to Airtia, then to the door. "Is the door itself warded? Whoever is in there needs help, and quickly."

Jamison said nothing, but not because he was being rude, but because really he was weaving a spell in his mind, and without the vocal or visual component to provide insulation so that Raw Magic didn't fry his brain, it required total focus, and he just didn't hear anything past the affirmation of Airtia saying she was skilled in first aid. For that was when the Wizard closed his eyes and drew in a deep breath creating a rise in his magical energies that made the lights in the hall flicker, the one above them fizzling out entirely at the flow of the Wizard's magic. It was the Exhale that brought another wave energy, this one though was pushed forward through the door. his breath emptied the Warden placed a hand on the door. right below the lock.

"Inleiden" The word held power, and the lock that bound the door rattled and popped open. The room had no regular occupant to call it home, so the good Warden needed no further invitation to enter the room. the look open that hand turned the knob and pushed. the resistance caused by her chair brought about another push this one with his shoulder. coupled with another word of power. "Krackt" a flash of greenish energy pushing from his body sent the chair flying, rather unnaturally slowly through the air.

the reason for that was the first Spell Jamison had cast, it was a defensive spell of his own devising, it slowed the velocity of objects by a greater degree the faster they where going. he liked to use it when in hostage situations because guns and arrows where a bitch to stop otherwise. eyes Darted around the room first, before he entered it, a glance behind the door before his eyes befell the injured young lady on the ground."Ontslaan" that single word lowered the defensive bubble and that chair which had slowed regained its initial speed and continued along its path to clattering on the ground.

"It's one girl, Enter." he was spoken clearly and the warden was already on his path to kneel next to the hurt young lady, who had been speaking a language he nearly understood. a Language he was going to speak now. She may or may not understand him. and if she did, it might sound like an ancient dialect of her native tongue, and Jamison had learned it as the language of the Winter court of Fae. Jamison's accent was flawless he might have well been a native speaker of the language. it was the sort of thing he had a flair for... he could also speak the language of the summer court perfectly too.

Once again The Warden's eyes scanned the room as he knelt beside the young lady, his hand still clutching his sword cane tightly, after all he didn't need someone else busting in on them while they where trying to help this young lady.

___Panic was not something she felt usually, even though perhaps in this moment that would be an appropriate reaction for most. She was not most though, she was a Drow Matron to her entire region. Even still the blurring vision of the small room was becoming more persistent with each passing moment. The spell that gave her the strength and fortitude to care to her wound had finally faded as she had expected.

___Even in her annoyance at the situation she was in, she kept calm of mind and expression of emotion. The feel of the very air of the room shifted with the casting of even the first spell. The electrifying sense of the rising Arcane energy was a rush to her senses like a drug was to an addict. The sluggish movement of the chair flying from it's barricading position and the door opening was surreal to her. “Lovely... guests, and I haven't had a chance to touch up my make-up. How rude.” she mused to herself in her own thoughts as she watched the trio on the other side of the door. Delicious... at least two of them smelled of power, her senses hinted to her.

___The cynical thought was cut short abruptly as the old human moved closer, and the words left his lips. Drow... but a dialect she had never heard before. His pronunciation was smooth as she would expect an elven cousin, but not a human in his addled years. Even as her sense of curiosity prickled at her thoughts, her irritation flared. For another of a different race to soil her native tongue before her, and to speak to her without permission... he obviously had no idea of the etiquette of her kin. Typical surfacer. Though it would be a worry she would address when not in such a weakened state. For now she had to play the part and to fit the role.

___Intentionally making it appear as if her weakness was more overwhelming then it was at the moment, she slowly raised her pistol using the curve of her uninjured side to rest the weapon upon so it would point in a lazily aimed direction of the human. Completing the image she left her sapphire eyes roll once... twice in her performance of near unconsciousness. “Vrine'winith. Xun naut doer veirs rivvil. ((Stop. Do not come closer human.))” she hissed in her voice, though it was weak. It wasn't Oscar award winning, but she doubted she needed to put much effort in appearing what she would likely truly be soon. Well at least this was an interesting trip down the rabbit hole so far.

Lolthian in Wonderland ((Open)) Empty Re: Lolthian in Wonderland ((Open))

Post by Airtia S. Cauthon Mon Aug 16, 2010 4:31 pm

The door opened and what greeted Airtia's eyes caused her to raise her right brow in partial question, though the movement was so slight and so subtle that it could be questioned if she had even made any movement at all. The female was Drow. How long had it been since she had seen a Drow here in Rydin? There was her sword-brother, but he was only part Drow.

She started towards the room in even strides, the tip of her own not as easy to discern as her hair had them covered. Perhaps if a person looked closely...Tyger beat her into the room - he was at the door after all - and his tail swished against the ground as he entered. There was a cheshire grin to his face when he saw it was a Drow and he studied her as a rumbling growl came from his throat. It wasn't a threatening one, but instead of interest.

Tyger did not get in Jamison's way, though he did cock his head to the man when he heard him speak. He looked at him a moment longer before the cat took himself to the bed and started yanking at the top sheet. After it had a bit of give he cut at it with his claws to cause a rip and at the same time laughed internally. What De'Ryanna would do if she saw the state of this room was a funny thought. Now that was it was ripped it was easier to tear and taking the hole in his mouth he started backing away to progress the damage. He was, essentially, making strips to bandage up the wound causing the bleeding. This was his task.

Airtia traded glances with Gawain as she entered into the room. Her silver eyes focused on the fallen Drow and the blood that was laying around her. "Bleeding tae death and does nae want assistance." Her words were nonchalant and her face and unreadable mask, this was also expressed in her approach though she stayed a step behind and to the side of Jamison. He was on the ground and she choose to remain standing and looking down upon the intruder. "Typical."

In hindsight perhaps asking if they could heal - asking Airtia anyway - may not have been the best idea as she wasn't the kindest of doctors. "Tlu k'jakr, xor el pholor nindol nythe." (1) With the tone of voice and manner of speaking, even those who did not know what she said could understand that it wasn't sympathetic or kind. No bedside manners at all. Rather it was fact and on the verge of being an order.

Her cursory look around the room told her that this particular one did not have a private bathroom and so they would have to get water from elsewhere and she was not about to expose her ability in order to do so when there was a third person who was fully capable. "Water would be good, Gawain." If he wanted to produce water instead of getting some then that would be up to him. "She has to be cleaned." Again it was something she said and expected to be carried out.

Oh yes, she noticed the weapon but it was pointed at Jamison and the way Airtia saw him holding on to the cane, and what she felt when he had opened the door, she knew that he was capable of handling himself. No need in insulting his abilities by making a move or statement otherwise.

Gawain stifled a chuckle both at the commanding tone his wife used and at the posturing of the Drow, remembering how his first, deranged wife had been with her pride. Finally, he cleared his throat, dredging up memories long buried. "Uoi'nota, j'nesst, nind ph'galla ulu xxizz dos, lu'dos phuul bauth ulu k'lararl doeb. Vrine'winith nindol lu'ori'gato mina. Eilistraee orn'la naut ssinssrin uss d'ilta dalharen ulu el whol l'zai'th d'lorith gareth!" After he had spoken, he stepped to the door, presumably to get the water. Yeah, he could be agreeable when he wanted to do such.

The gun was enough to give the Warden only a second of pause. a raise of his hand, and a channeling of energy to bring his shield up at a moments notice if he needed to. but a single word. "Kracht" an unseen force struck the weapon in her hand, at the tip of the barrel. it was a strong amount of force, enough so that it might send the weapon flying from a human's hand. Should she be stronger then them it would probably compltely ruin her hold on the weapon. giving Jamison precious few seconds to work another spell. this one required the wizard to pull from the pocket of his long coat a pinch of salt. which he flicked at the woman

"Staken" The Young lady would find her own movement rather difficult like trying to move while buried in sand. only when she was secured did the Warden step forward and speak. in the same perfect Fae tone. "Meddle not in the affairs of Wizards, for they are subtle and quick the anger." he kept his eyes fixed on her face, Jamison never made eye contact with people. When a person made eye contact with a Wizard it resulted in what was caled a Soul Gaze, a moment of Transference between two people, wherein each would see everything that the other carried around in their soul. Everything that lead up to them being the person that stood before them.

Eyes left the young Lady and moved to Airtia. "She is secure..." And the wizard moved to the Drow's side."You shouldn't try to move, it will only worsen your condition, I've no interest in Angering Queen Mab; so please lay still and let this woman assist you." There was Jamison thinking she was a member of the winter court of the Fae. Queen Mab was the reigning queen of the Winter Court of Faerie. may or may not ring a bell for her. His tone was sincere, Innocent until proven guilty was his motto. even if the rest of the white council disagrees with him on that.

___A mumbled sound of a whispered voice was all she could hear. The pompous female's command in her native tongue was but a mumbled sound to her. What caught her attention was the young male. Even in what she felt as the butchering of her elegant language, being presumed to be Eilistraeen was bordering on ignorance or stupidity. Red hot anger burned in her veins, and blackened the sapphire hue to her eyes. Her reactions were slow though, and her clarity of mind was questionable. Words and emotion to fuel her spell fed into her veins, her power was one born of blood instead of some dusty old book. Even still she lacked the focus and to use such a spell without a means to channel the chaotic energy would be foolish. Still she marked the male's defining features; the scent seemed different then the others though still subtle, hair color, tone of voice, eye color... anything to mark him from others in a crowd. He would learn his place and soon.
___With the presumptuous male gone for the moment, she only had to worry about two at this point, and even still she was not pleased. To cast a spell on a Drow in normal conditions was to incur a death wish. Even still as clunky a weapon as her pistol was it was still her's, and she did not enjoy it suddenly flipping end over end from her weak grip till is slid out of sight under the bed. Then the next of the elder human's spells touched her. Like a heavy blanket lay over her she felt the press of his magic. “You have no idea the mistake you have made, old man.” she hissed angrily in the most common tongue used by the surfacers, choosing to savor the sound of her blessed language for another time, since it seemed the linguistic education of these strangers was admirable. Her only warning was given in those few words, before the last of her energy was used in her retaliating effort. Adrenaline of anger, and the lingering consciousness was enough to give her the lacking focus. Much like her beloved spiders, the fine veins in her delicate features darkened further then her obsidian skin, as did the void in her eyes. Force of her very will thrust forward without a verbal word of gesture, a simple task for someone of her advanced training as a pinnical leader of her kin. The shock wave of force that typically would send a small group of well armed soldier cart wheeling off their feet, held only the strength of a strong blast of wind, enough to send an unprepared person off there feet but likely little more. In such a confined space she hoped the effect would strike the remaining pair, and their landing would end them in some unfortunate blunt and/or sharp object. Still... the message that she was not some helpless kitten was her desired message to be delivered. To bad her body didn't agree with her arrogance. Like a light switch, the darkness of unconsciousness hit her without any warning. Good job Alice, so much for escaping the Queen's soldiers...

Magic was what Jamison did for a living, absolutely literally. so when he felt the rise in her power, readying a spell to launch at him, The Warden was rather quick on the draw, hands brought up, and the carvings on his cane came to life with an orange brilliance. bringing to life a shield that stood as a castle rampart before her attack. the shield buckled at the impact and folded in upon itself, absorbing the force that was expended. it continued folding. until it was a tight ball that shattered into many orange shards of magical glass that faded as they drifted down.

His eyes where fixed upon her now, and that he knew she spoke English he would as well. "I am Jamison LeFey, and I do not make mistakes child." he said very sternly to her before her eyes drifted shut. unconsciousness taking her over. he straitened and leaned on his cane once again, offering Airtia a glance. "I'm terribly sorry about that. are you alright?" Maybe it was Jamison's intention there to have the girl use the the last of her energy to put herself asleep, he might not ever mention that . so we'll never know. " I believe her to be sedate now, and even so my spell should hold her that she's unconscious."

Post by Airtia S. Cauthon Sat Aug 28, 2010 11:41 am

Tyger was done making the strips for the wound and he had brought it over to his Master, all the while keeping an eye on the female Drow. This cat was no puss and he knew from personal experience that appearances were often deceiving so when he felt the prickling tinge of magic rising from her he wasn't surprised. What would he do about it? Be lucky that she had thought him to be only a cat and wasn't paying much attention to him and leave the defending up to the 'humans'.

In the meantime he crafty made his way back and around to the opposite side to flank the Drow. This may have taken a bit of time for he wasn't trying to be obvious or draw attention to himself. While he was doing that Airtia braced herself to prepare for what may come --- until she felt a rise of energy from the older looking man.

It drew her attention but there wasn't much time to dwell on it was the two magics collided. Even Tyger had picked up his head and was eyeing the man. There was always some backlash from when opposing forces hit and even though she was grounded her arms came up and made an 'X' and as the forces died down her arms returned to a rest at her sides. Airtia knew that the man wasn't all that he appeared and having already liked him from their earlier exchange; now he became that more interesting.

"Jamison LeFey." His name rolled smooth and easily off of her tongue as she committed his name to memory and her verbal tone held the spark of interest that she had. Silver eyes were trained on him as she spoke again before starting closer to the now unconscious Drow. "Thank ye." There was no offer of her own name yet.

With Tyger already by the Drow he had identified the source of the bleeding - much easier to do now that he didn't have to worry about her lashing out at him. There was blood already on the ground and he was possibly stepping in a bit or two which is why he took one of those strips and placed it on the floor and used his paw to begin wiping it up.

"She 'as lost a lot, but it tis nae something that cannae be helped." Airtia said as she placed her hands on the fallen and turned her over to look at the wound. She took two fingers and pressed it into the opened area before bringing them to her mouth and sucking off the blood. This served two purposes, the main one being that she would be able to tell more about the Drow now that she's had a taste of her blood.

"We will keep 'er 'ere until the time she wakes." Airtia had her head lowered to keep the shift in her eyes from view and she began to clean the wound. She had gentle hands when needed and her intent was not to cause her morse pain and wake her unintentionally. All she needed now was the water that Gawain was suppose to be getting and then she would close it. "It will nae be a problem."

Gawain returned with the water, smiling all the way. It was good to see his wife under any circumstance, and since they had been through so much together, this situation didn't really faze him. "Here ya go....you need it hot?" As he spoke, he was already seizing Saidin, readying the weaving for Fire to heat the water. One look from Jamison to the Drow told him more than questions could. "Is she going to be okay? I'd like the opportunity to apologize for what I said to her."

After a moment, he nodded a greeting to Jamison, then set the water down, walking over to the Drow. "She got pretty banged up....looks like someone was after her. I'll speak with De'Ryanna and pay for her room......least I can do for offending her. As it stands right now, I can say that while Ryan and I don't always see eye to eye, she is still my daughter, and I love all my children." An odd look passed across his features, and he sighed. "Besides, sleeping like that, she reminds me of my first child. Dee. I told you about her, of course......she's interred in my family crypt. Anyway, let me know if there is anything I can do other than stay out of the way while you and the cat do your thing." He shot Tyger a look, and smirked. "How's it going, flea-magnet?"

___Chaos. The bitter bite of old blood, the coppery taste of it seemed almost sticky and yet it was smooth and sweet in the same shifting motion. The very texture of the unconscious Drowess's blood seemed to not keep any kind of consistency in any way, save for it literally saturated with power. Old power. A power connected to a much more powerful, but very distant being. A glimpse and a flash of a single memory was instilled in the blood. Enormous spider like mandibles stabbing through sapphire eyes, and then two more similar pairs of wounds ascending from the initial strike. The blinding pain of the memory was as fresh as if it had barely taken place, the red pulsing pain accentuated by six red spider eyes staring with unwavering focus. A profound memory instilled in the very blood of the dark woman, a focus for the chaos of the shifting power that coursed through the crimson life.

___The crude bandages bound to her left side were tight enough to properly bind the wound but nothing in comparison to the care the Drowess was accustom to for centuries. Though she looked to barely crest her third decade of life, her blood was many centuries older then what she appeared to be. Odd for a Drowess though to be so well preserved at yet to have lived as many centuries as she had. Something hinted at more... something slight and barely noticeable unless specifically looked for. But it was enough to be a part of her.

___The darkness of unconsciousness consumed her, but just as a spider waits for the slightest vibration through their web, so was the Drowess's mind, working and preparing. Stuck in Wonderland was not what she expected, but at least she was going to make the trip interesting.
