The engine roar of the motorcycle would be heard before it was seen. Knowing exactly where it was going, the bike moved with a grace, of having a driver that knew what they were doing. Some people really should not own a bike, or any sort of vehicle, if truth be told. Hand lifted off of the gas, as the bike was eased into the parking space outside of the Starbucks, key was turned. Kickstand was put down, in the same fluid motion that had the rider of the bike, off the bike and standing next to it. Hands would be lifted to the black helmet with a blue outlined in white lightening bolt down the right side. Pulling off the helmet would reveal a woman, short brown with blonde highlighted hair. Pixie fixtures, black leather pants, black leather boots, black leather jacket. Hands were bare.

Unsure of whom sent the message, it had found it’s way to her, so whomever sent it had to know she was back. How much they knew about her, she was unsure of. She had told no one she was here, back from Earth. Or that she was staying with Georges. A smile tweaked up her lips at the thought of Georges, the man was treating her like a princess. Men were such fun creatures, you could make them think things were their ideas, then twist them around your little finger. She did not have time to let him know she was going out. Knowing full well that when she showed up back at his home he would just be glad she did not disappear again.

The jingle of the bell attached to the door, would announce her arrival into the establishment. The click click click would be the sound of her boots against the floor. A swing of her head to push stray locks out of her face. Her attention was solely on the counter in front of her. If anyone would of stepped in her way, she would merely deviate her path, she was not here for niceties. Once she had her coffee in hand, black and strong, the only way she thought there was to drink coffee. She made her way to the table that was indicated in the letter. Unzipping the black leather coat, revealing a hot pink tank top with a black Playboy Bunny, she then slipped into the chair. To wait. Hopefully this wasn’t another waste of her time.

Inconspicuous...something she was trying very hard to be as she kept a close tail on her little sister. J.J. had a knack for getting into trouble, and once again it seemed she was running from something. Booted foot pressed downward on the clutch as right hand grabbed for a lower gear, the sleek black Lamborghini Gallardo bringing it to a slow crawl as J.J pulled into a spot. Of course Malice couldn't whip it in beside her so she opted to continue down the street until she was sure J.J wouldn't see her. Finding her own spot the almost silent purr of the car ceased and with her own cat like grace Malice exited the vehicle.

The Sadist had grown accustomed to being out in the daylight but she was still garbed in all black leathers with matching gladiator stilettos. Silken tresses were pulled back into a pony tail while black shade concealed depths of liquid steel as they took in her surroundings. "Starbucks?" a soft question spoken to herself. It was once of those trendy places she avoided, but J.J seemed to enjoy. Keys were shoved into her pocket as she made her way down the semi crowded street. Surely by now J.J had found a place to sit and wouldn't notice her entrance. There was no fanfare, not friendly faces turning to offer a smile in her direction as she quietly stepped inside.

Malice hated tip-toeing around but she needed to do just that, well not literally. She claimed a small table near the window, opting not to order instead she pulled her laptop from the black satchel that never left her side and began typing away. She didn't have to visibly see her sister, she could feel her presence and try as she might she was not opposed to eaves dropping. Slight wiggle in her chair to find maximum comfort just in case J.J decided to grow roots in the place. The soft tapping of nails to the keys were the only sounds coming from the Sadist.

₯ The Arrival caused By The Letter ₯ Empty Re: ₯ The Arrival caused By The Letter ₯

Post by J.J. Kinkaid Wed Apr 07, 2010 11:20 pm

The letter had a time. She had not a watch on her wrist. Watches never worked for her, either the band was to large and tried to slip off her hand, or the band was so tight it left red marks. Thankfully their was a clock over the counter, five minutes, she had five minutes left to find out whom it was she was suppose to meet. If they showed up. A part of her doubted that the person would show. She had been getting notes like this back on Earth. Every time she showed up, no one ever came. Was she really that scary? Seriously, if the person did not show, she wasn't sure if she was going to show to the next one. It was more of a morbid curiosity with her.

She was aware of her surroundings, but obviously not aware enough, if the most important person to her could slip in unnoticed. Men were not important to her. Friends, she had learned the hard way, turned on you. Family, okay not always the best, but her sister, her big sister, that was different. Probably the one person that could make her listen to reason or rather what they thought was reason.

Lifting the cup of hot coffee up to take a drink. Fingers would curl around the glass, as she looked out the big front window. Nothing. Four minutes. Her mind was was racing. Who knew she was here? It wasn't like she left a note back where she had been staying. Nor had she made much fanfare that she was back in the realms. Part of her wondered if she should of ever went back in the first place, but what was done, was done.

For Malice time meant little to nothing at all, however for her sister it seemed to be moving at a snails pace. That bit of knowledge brought a slow smile to velveteen softness before her attention was returned to the email she was just about ready to send. She had told Doug that she would keep in contact with him and let him know what was going on. This was one of the rare times that their business kept him from traveling with her, but she understood. Email sent and her laptop was tucked back away into the protective case and forgot about...sort of.

She debated with herself on grabbing a cup of coffee but a glance up to the bar brought her attention back fully on J.J. There was a plethora of emotions dancing across her lovely features. It bothered Malice to see her sister with uncertainty on her face but what could she do? She had to wait this game out, J.J had traveled here for a reason and Malice was going to make sure it wouldn't land her in jail...or worse. Like she had done for most of her life, Malice hid in the shadows to give assistance to J.J should she need it. The Sadist wasn't the suffocating type when it came to family, nope she gave wide berth where they were concerned.

The immortal beauty made a mental note however to talk with J.J about her lack of observance. What happened if Malice had been someone else, someone sent to harm J.J...soft grunt at the thought and the one that followed...J.J. had always been reckless why should she change now? Once more following her sisters glance towards the clock brought annoyance to Malice. Punctuality was a pet peeve of hers, and it seemed whomever J.J was here to meet was either going to be late or better yet...a no show. Either way, Malice just wanted it over with.

Persistence. That's the ticket and it was the gift to every die-hard fan or stalker with an ounce of knowledge on how to work a camera. Especially this one. For all intents and purposes this clickety-clacker on the camera was known as: The Snapper.

This Snapper snaps the snappiest snap shot that ever could be snapped.

Back on Earth little miss J.J. Kinkaid was a bit of a story and if she thought that traveling to this strange place was going to save her from the clicks and the flash? Ha! That's all to be said about that. Snapper was considered a master of disguise - in their own mind - and had tracked her down and was now outside the Starbucks! Pulled out the pocket camera and. . .

Snap!
Snap!
Snap!

Right outside that window with a good view of J.J. inside. Oh the blessed wonders of a high-powered telephoto lens on a miniature camera! Was Snappers greatest tool.

Malice was not the only one who wanted this to be over with. J.J. wasn't having a barrel full of laughs either. She hated the not knowing, she liked to be in control, this letter writer had taken that from her. That did not sit well with her. Casting a quick glance around Starbucks. If her gaze would of landed upon her sister, she would of known. Unless she had changed greatly since the last time they had caught up. Maybe that strange tingle was for some other reason. She wasn't going to make a big deal of it. Not when she did not know what to expect.

Lifting the steaming cup of coffee once more to her lips, taking a nice deep drink of the hot liquid. The clock had just struck the time that the letter said to be there. Not looking around she wouldn't know whom she was expecting. Obviously they knew her though.

It was at that very moment, when the second hand of the clock had landed on the 12, the snapping outside of the window would begin. Having seen how this went down back on Earth she knew that they wanted a reaction. She had fallen right into the trap. Knowing if she reacted a certain way the stories that they could make up. Slowly she would turn her back to the window as she stood up. Counting backwards from ten. Even if she was mad at herself for falling so neatly into the trap, it did not make her any less annoyed. It was on her way to the door, to have a talk with the person out there, snapping away, that her gaze landed on "Malice?" She then held up a finger, as a I will be right back, before stepping outside. She wanted to see if this camera wielder was the sort that would hold their ground or take off running.

Now J.J wouldn't be the first person Malice made tingle in a not so pleasant way, and it was safe to say she wouldn't be the last. For a split second or two the Sadist had been examining her sister with scrutinizing eyes and that was all it took for J.J. to realize she was there. The finger was met with no trace of acknowledgment, that stoic mask of indifference was always in place. One might question whether or not Malice even heard her sister but the languid rise for her chair answered any questions.

Granted J.J might have wanted her to wait inside but the femme fatale had other intentions. The shutterbug outside the window was an annoyance to J.J for a reason and she was going to find out why...if J.J couldn't persuade the person, Malice would intervene. Slight smirk claimed her lips as the lyrics for a song that had been playing in the car now claimed her thoughts "I'm your biggest fan,I'll follow you until you love me Papa-paparazzi" Yes, leave it to J.J to find her own personal photog!

So there she half stood. Svelte frame leaning against the side of the building, stunner shades concealing depth of mercury that had now fixated on the direction of the rapid snap of the camera. For the wielder sake, she did hope they stood their ground. Running someone down in the middle of the day was not something that would go unnoticed...and this was all about being covert. Malice couldn't resist humming the song softly, such sweet irony.

Damnit! Snapper had only fired off ten shots before seeing that J.J. Kinkaid took notice. Were this photographer going to turn tale and run? Sure thing! A person in this chosen profession learned to stay alive and reduce the number of broken bones and bloody noses by knowing how to run. Word of advice for any would-be shooters out there: unless you're traveling in a group, always pack light and wear a good pair of shoes. Like sneaks. Snapper had on those sneaks that were suppose to give the best footing and velocity for running.

Snapper so J.J. a-coming and started backing-back from that Starbucks window. A quick look around to make sure the coast was clear as they skipped backwards and snap-snap-snapped. On the last snap that's when the target was outside and Snapper high-tailed it out of there faster than a sinner at church service.

Get away!
Get away!
Get away!
Main goal: Get away with the film for Snapper can live to snap another day!

There was not a doubt in J.J.'s mind that Malice heard her, and saw the single digit lift, not the digit that Malice was probably used to seeing, before grabbing and breaking. Now did she really believe that Malice was going to just sit there? Of course not, but she had to try, even if it was a wasted gesture. Somethings never change and she could take a odd comfort in that.

It was when the snapper noticed that she was coming, and took off running, that she gave a shake of her head. Oh she knew what the photographer wanted they all wanted the money shot. Unfortunately for them they weren't getting any money shots. Nor any candid interviews with Mistress number 5 or was it 6 now? Technically she could for all intents and purposes be called Mistress Number One.

Once the snapper was gone, she turned to face Malice. Almost as if she knew what she was thinking she spoke up. "Not worth it. You get rid of one and a score of them latch on." She spoke as if she had personal experience and she was not going to go into how she happened to get rid of one. Especially not in a public place. She figured if they didn't get the money shot eventually they would give up trying. At least this outing brought about her sister. She gave a small inquiring nod with her head towards the inside of the Starbucks.

She watched in an almost stunned silence as her sister simply let the shutterbug run off like a scared rabbit. Malice was almost looking forward to the chase, but it seemed her sister deemed it not worth it. A shrug of her shoulders as frame was pushed from the lean against the wall to an upright position. "Your decision." However that didn't mean she would do some investigating of her own at a later time. With the nod towards the interior again, her own was given and hand reached for the door pulling it open. "After you."

Malice moved back over to the table she had been occupying before, making sure her satchel was still exactly where she left it. She would leave it up to J.J if she wanted company at the moment or not, sometimes her little sister needed time to brood. In the past Malice would have been all in J.J.'s business whether she wanted her there or not, and that had been the catalyst to many fights, but Malice had come to understand what giving someone room to breathe was all about. Manicured nails now came to beat the signs of her boredom against the wooden top of the table. Okay, so she wasn't a patient person.

Luckily for J.J the soft chime of a bell came from the black satchel and Malice once more retrieved her laptop from it. Yes, although Doug was busy training and taking care of the horses, he was always so prompt to reply to any correspondence she sent. Velveteen softness creased into a rare smile as she read over the text, this would occupy her mind until J.J's little arse took the chair in front of her. The Sadist was no Mother Theresa but she was doing what she could to remain neutral...for the moment.

She would explain to Malice when the time was right. Which wasn't while they were standing near the door to a rather well populated in and out place of business. "Thank you." For the door, at the moment, was what that was for. Walking inside she went back to the table she had left her coffee and her keys.

Brooding time had come and gone, she had been dealing with this nuisance for a while now. If this had been a first instance perhaps she would need some time. A impish part of her, thought about sitting at her previous table, just to see how long Malice would wait. But she was not going to play any games today, well at least no games with her sister.

Boots clicking against the floor as she made her way to Malice's table. Silently taking a seat across from her. Her voice came out softly like a caress, which might give those at the other tables a different idea about the pair. "I went home for a while." Home she meant by saying Earth in general. A small twitch of her lips. "Everything was fine, until that bimbo came out, about being Jesse James mistress." She shook her head, not about the man having mistress's but about the woman coming out, she really ruined everything. Surely Malice could put those pieces together. "Let me tell you, those cameras, if you take care of one, ten more pop up, all trying to get the money shot."

As her sister took the seat opposite her the laptop was once more closed and set aside. Her attention was completely given to J.J. The stoic mask she wore almost gave way to a chuckle once the root of the problem was discovered, but Malice held it together. "A man is the cause of your demons." Demon of course was in reference to the shutterbugs that seemed to stalk her every move. Yes, Malice knew about this mistress, why she was considered a bombshell was beyond her, or maybe it was a self appointed nickname. The Sadist found nothing appealing about her in any aspect.

Malice wanted to ask J.J what she was thinking by sleeping with a married man, and one that was married to a high profile woman wasn't any better, but who was she kidding. Malice herself had ventured down that path with her stint in the Alliance, and though it was something she wasn't proud of, she didn't regret it. It was part of her past, and that was something that a person just couldn't run from. So her sister had followed in her footsteps so to speak...could be worse!"Where do we go from here?"

Yeppers, the Sadist used the "we" word because she refused to let J.J. deal with this on her own. Malice had her ways of taking care of people but she hoped for the most part it was over. Now it was time for the Kinkaid sisters to re-establish the bond they shared. Now that brought a chuckle out of her, yes the havoc the pair could and most likely would cause. It had been ages since they stirred the pot. Now, if Malice could only get Doug to join her all would be right in her world.

That she would deal with later. Right now, she wanted to find a nice room with a view to settle into. Malice wasn't really how long she would be here, but she'd stay until J.J. decided to move on."Maybe we can find a place nearby to stay at."It wasn't a question by any means, more of a statement as her mind already set into motion on finding a place for them to stay at.

₯ The Arrival caused By The Letter ₯ Empty Re: ₯ The Arrival caused By The Letter ₯

Post by J.J. Kinkaid Tue Apr 13, 2010 10:08 pm

Patience, it was a virtue, and J.J. was learning it. Before there might of been a pout, but she was older now, wiser. Her pretty little pouts did not work their magic on her sister, anyways. Once the laptop was closed and she gave a nod. "Aren't they always?" She knew exactly what was meant with the words. Exactly, talk about a downgrade.

Malice really did not want the details of what had gotten her involved with the man. It could of been her love for bikes. It could of been the rumors, and yes they were true. "That's what I am trying to figure out. A part of me naively thought if I came here I would have more then two weeks of peace." Slim shoulders lifted and relaxed into a shrug. "Guess not." The words were spoken rather plainly.

Georges would be sad that she was gone. He was just a passing amusement if the truth be told. So when Malice lumped them into a boat together, she did not give him a second thought. Right hand lifted, two sliver rings flashed in the interior lights, using a flat hand, she rubbed at the side of her nose. He would deal or he wouldn't it was no skin off of her back. She wasn't fool enough to pass up on the re-bonding with her sister. Because wherever Malice was, J.J. was likely to have some fun.

Always thinking ahead, before the words that she had been wondering could slip out, Malice was saying them. "I am sure there is a Inn or something around here. These towns all like to trap people into growing roots." Not that she was planning on any planting for a long period of time. But she wanted to catch up, and then she would decide her next move.

Now she was not eavesdropping, she was going about her own business, it just happened that when the two were talking about a place to stay, she was cleaning the table next to them. She thought about staying mum, because the pair did not look like your friendly girl scout cookie sellers, but they had said they were looking for a place around here. Heck, she would of even offered her apartment building they usually had places, but that was more of a long term thing.

She stopped cleaning the table for just a moment, she would give them a bashful little grin, "Pardon me, I couldn't help but hear you speak of looking for a place in the area to stay. There is a Inn up the road a ways, about 8 or 10 minutes by a vehicle." She thought to give a help, and then she was gone, once more cleaning more tables.

She remained silent for a moment longer than J.J probably liked, but Malice was never one to just throw her words or advice around without mental consideration to their impact. J.J had made her bed and it was now time to lay in it."J, when are you going to realize that your past is something you cannot out run or out live? It will always come knocking...like it or not."Granted, J.J.'s past was more in her present than most, but like all things this would pass and she would fade into the background...well as far as the Jesse James fiasco was concerned. It was true Malice didn't need the details about how her sister got involved with him, but if J.J really wanted her to know, she would tell her.

Malice was just about to comment on what J.J had said but they were interrupted by the waitress. Mercury prisms simply shot the woman a glance before returning to her sister. Oh those wheels were now in motion and the wicked little smile that hugged her lips was no longer denied."It would seem the Kinkaids are about to take root." And as if it were decided, Malice began to pack away her laptop and gather her satchel before slowly rising from her seat a curious glance given to her sister."Do you need me to throw my coat over your head or something?"She tried not to chuckle at her playful barb.

Lighthearted as the comment was meant to be, it still didn't stop Malice from looking out the window to see if another shutterbug had replaced the one that turned tail. J.J might have let it go, but Malice wasn't so forgiving, and they were no longer just invading her sisters privacy, they were not invading hers. Malice was all about personal space, get to close to hers without permission and someone was going to be in trouble. There was no signs of a flash or anyone that seemed to be paying any attention to the cafe so it was deemed safe. Now it was just up to J.J. on if she took the invitation to book a couple of rooms at the Inn.

{Are her words easier to read this way?}

If Malice would of just jumped with words, that would of been the beginning of the end, if that time came she was going to be worried. Not saying that if one was trading quips that it took Malice time to weigh her words, for if someone believed that well, they would be in for a lashing with that tongue. And not in a pleasuring sort of way. Her left side of her mouth twisted up, "I know." She wasn't really trying to outrun her past, or rather her present past, she just wanted a little bit of time without the flashing of bulbs in her face. "You would think that they would be kept busy enough with all the women wanting to talk about their times with him." Seriously, there was the woman all over the place, saying look at me, look at me, and here she was wanting to just slink into the night and they weren't letting her.

One more thing for her to not live down. She wasn't embarrassed by her actions. She did what she felt at the moment, and she wasn't going to make excuses or ask for forgiveness, what was the point? Make others feel better? She was fine with what had happened. "Indeed we are. I almost feel sorry for that Inn." Trademark little grin inserted there. One thin finely arched brow raised but that grin did not leave her face. "They would just love that." If someone could get such a picture and prove it was indeed her, they would be able to spin many stories around it.

Standing up, she grabbed the keys, and her cup of coffee, the cup was just about empty. She would toss the cup out on the way out of Starbucks. Fingers moving to zip up her jacket. "You want to lead or follow?" Malice was older so she thought to give her the option, though if it had been anyone else, J.J. simply would of just said what she was going to do, and leave them to figure out the rest on their own. Up the road a bit wasn't going to be to hard to find, and if they passed it, well who knows what else they might find.

Once the sisters were outside, she would grab up her helmet, she didn't used to wear one and if she didn't have the shutterbugs following her every move she probably wouldn't be wearing one now. Her right hand lifted to push her hair out of her face. Before her helmet would be placed on. Though the visor was lifted on the front.

Another chuckle as she listened to J.J. If Malice would admit it to herself she missed having her around. Life was never dull when the pair were together. Not to say Malice life was dull...far from the truth, she had settled into a life of routine for the most part. Doug had finished their dream home long ago, and now he operated a very lucrative horse business. Stepping outside hand lifted to instantly pull those dark shades over sensitive eyes."I'll follow. That way if you're be tailed they can eat my bumper."

Granted deliberately loading another car into the back of her precious ride was unthinkable, but if it kept her sister from stressing should would gladly do it. Giving J.J. a pat on the shoulder Malice turned and headed towards her car. Keys were slipped from pocket and the alarm deactivated. Once nestled in the comfort of expensive leather, the engine was brought to life and Fiver Finger Death Punch wailed. Ahh, this was to her liking. Putting the car in reverse she backed out and waited for J.J to take the lead.

A glance to the cell phone tucked into the holder just below the stereo. Once again she had forgotten to take it with her and she had a new message. Pressing the view button a smile creased her features. Doug had sent her a sweet message, one she would answer later, once they had settled into their rooms. Hopefully the Inn the woman spoke of would offer a spacious room with lots of privacy. Only time would tell, but she couldn't wonder how long it would take them to get kicked out.

[] I didn't have a problem with them before. Ha! []
