Post by Madeline Cauthon Thu Mar 18, 2010 1:34 pm

Madeline made her way to the bar with a big triumphant grin on her face. She gave Derrick one last look as he headed out the door. This should be fun. Once behin the bar, she looked for two shot glasses and a bottle of whiskey. She sat them on top of the bar, and waited for Derick to come back. While she waited, she poured herself a shot and drank it. "Now let the games begin."

Dare or double dare Empty Re: Dare or double dare

It would be a short while before he would join her. For whatever reason it seemed every single page in this world had it in for Derick and had some form of hyper almost annoying personality. He would be fighting with the buy for a few minutes, trying to make sure both his horse and cart were well tended to. But, to top it off, Derick would throw a few silvers to the boy to seal the deal on watching out for the yet unclaimed shipment. And now....the bar.

It seemed something interesting had just happened. He simply came by the Inn to drop off a shipment of some ware, and it turned out the fates had other reasons for his visit. It was certainly a bit sudden, but oddly welcomed. As of late, late being the last 3 years, Derick wasn't one for socializing much. Especially around the females of the world. But now all of a sudden it was like he was a school boy again!

Walking into the bar, those blues would scan around. Seemed to be as quiet as he remembered. And then there she was at the bar. And it would seem she already had the menu picked out. Whiskey. Hmmm. Was certainly his drink of choice....but there was a whole bottle there. This could get interesting. Smiling to her, he started heading her way. Booted feet moving loose leather covered legs. Approaching the bar, he would take a seat on the stool next to her. That look being sent to he as he turned to face his hostess.

'Ello there. So, now that the business is out of the way, how have you been? I don't even wanna think how long it has been. You look well.

That was a good ice breaker, yes?

Madeline smiled warmly, and poured Derrick a shot, then she refilled hers. "I've been okay. Just back to the inn a few weeks ago myself. Yes it has been sometime."

Madeline drank down her shot with ease. "It's good to see you again. I'm glad you decided to stay. Now what wereyou saying about letting a woman put up a fight before you take the win?? I always thought we female types let you guys win."

And just as he sat down there was that brown goodness in front of him. Smirking a bit, he would take up that glass. Watching her down hers so quick, he nodded to himself. Seems this wasn't a sipping occasion. So, bringing the glass to lips, head would be cocked back and whiskey taken down. He would pause, letting the burn go down as a smile came to lips.

Well, I don't think I had any choice. Though, I am glad that it's now not just for business. But as for that.....

A wide smirk rolled over lips. His form would be turned to completely face hers. Hand lowering to place back down on bar top.

Oh nothing really. It just makes things more....interesting to not give in right away. Let women play their games a bit before a bloke lets whatever is gunna happen, happen. At least so I'm told.

Madeline looked Derick up and down with her brown eyes. She then refilled both his glass and hers. Not being one to beat around the bush. "So what kind of games do you think we woman play?"

Maddie had taken a liking to Derick when he first showed up at the inn many moons ago. And she wasn't abut to let him slip through her fingers now that she had him right here.

Now there was a question that would probably be the same answer for every man, but never completely understood by any of them. With a fresh shot in front of him, he had the sudden urge to simply pick it up, shoot it down, then ask for another. And as a matter of fact, that's exactly what he did. Looking to her, he almost laughed at the question.

Oh I think you know. There are so many things. Though they do differ from person to person. Lets see..... you got the flirting to get your way. Flirting to get things. Most of the time those end up bad for the man. Then you got the honest flirting with meaning. That's usually the funnest. but again, depending on the man and how he handles such things.

he was dangerously close to his line of comfort. Soon, the phrase 'practice what you preach' would be pounding in his head. For some things he knew about how exchanges like that happen, he was completely oblivious too. He most likely to talk all day about how he thinks they work, but then his own actions wouldn't be anything close. The downfall of being shy.

Maddie got an evil grin and shot her drink. Feeling in the moment, she poured them another. "Oh you think all we do to get our way is flirt huh. What about you men flexing your muscles, and the ability to write your name in the snow."

Maddie was starting to feel her happy buzz, and despite her ability to control it, her eyes were in fact flirting with Derick.

He would laugh at her comments. Shaking his head a bit. Well she seemed to be very light hearted today. He was trying to remember. Was she like this the last he knew her so long ago? Meh. No matter. Watching her down her shot he would smirk. He liked her. Always did. Just for some reason, his state of mind was more willing to take in what he was seeing. Picking up his glass, he would clink it to hers before downing. Now he knew he had to slow down. Three was the magic number. He wasn't feeling anything yet, but he knew it was coming. So, he would wait to see how he felt in a few minutes.

Hey, you cant blame us for the flexing thing. We have muscles. Not our fault they move in just the right way for you ladies. We do have to move around after all. Though I guess some do flaunt. But not all. And as for the snow thing...well....that's just fun sometimes.

Madeline laughed and her eyes danced. She was having a good time. There was no doubt about that. She clinked her glass with his. Then shot it back. She too did have her limits, although she was a good way from it. The one thing her father taught her was to pace herself. So she sat the glass back on the bar.

She leaned on the bar with her right elbow, and ran her fingers through her thick brown hair." So what else do you like to do for fun?"

The question was a simple but leading one.

It may have been leading, and if he was any other man he could easily twist it into some innuendo answer. However, that was not his way. Well....it was his mind's way, but never his lips'. he would think on that question for a moment. Never removing his eyes from her. he would start to fidget his legs a bit, feet supported by the cross bar of the stool. His knee passing back and forth inches from her own seat.

Well, I can honestly say I don't do a lot. I don't really get out much. I do enjoy my work, so I am in the shop a great deal of the time. though, my usual night caps usually involve a book. I also draw a bit.I picked that up not too long ago. Mainly charcoal, but I have used some paints. but yeah, that's pretty much it. I'm kinda dull, I know.

Madeline herself loved to read when she had the chance. She wasn't very artistic, but loved to watch people draw. She sat up and streched her long slender arms above her head then brought them down and rested one of her hands on his knee. "So what do you like to draw?"

Now this would be a test for a true male. A woman stretching like that was a sure was of seeing who was paying attention. Well, unfortunately for Derick, something like that would force his gentleman nature to go out the window, for he passed this guy test with flying colors. As she stretched, those blue hues would drift down. Gods. Now he had to cover it. Well, it seemed he was thirsty again. So keeping his head down, bottle was picked up and the two glasses refilled. Although, his would over flow a bit. Distracted.

Mainly real life. I have done some people. I love going to a small lake that just outside town and sitting there and waiting for the wildlife. I dunno. Pretty much anything that comes to mind that i can get a good mental image of.

And then as he was about to take up his shot he would feel that hand on his knee. Pausing, he looked down to it. Then to her. Smiling warmly, that shot was taken down. Oh yes....there's that warm fuzzy feeling.

This gave Maddie a good idea, one where she could enjoy Derick's company outside the inn. First she took the shot of whiskey, and started rubbing her hand up and down the length of his leg. "You know, the falls are gorgeous this time of year. Maybe we could go there sometime, and you could draw me..That is if you want to."

Well, it seemed things were picking up a bit. Again, his eyes would tilt down to look at her moving hand. His leg stopping the fidgeting that it previously was doing. Then looking back to her, he would smirk. Slowly, he would nod his head. Though, it seemed that nervous side of him was starting to come out once again. This time, it was solely her fault.

I...I would love to. Um....though we may have to do that at some other time. I wasn't expecting to be gone for the evening, so I didn't bring anything with me. Its bad enough that I'll be wearing the same clothes tomorrow. I don't even have a book to read myself to sleep tonight. But...yes....i would like to go there with you.

Yes, he was of the type that was conscious of his looks. not in the vain way, but rather enjoyed to give respect by making himself presentable. And wearing the same clothes for two days was not the way to do it.

He would be a bit curious at this point. Curious about who she would be stealing clothes from. This might not do. Derick has always been a little...odd about some things. His look was one of them.

Oh? I Don't know. Was there a shop built around the Inn while I have been gone? But my books, I tend to lean towards the philosophy. That and research material. I love learning new things. Always keeps my mind busy.

Oh yes, he was a cliche. The big hunky man who was deep down a softy. Well, for him, it wasn't too deep. He always had the gentleman manners out on display.

Maddie smiled. Not a problem to her. No she wouldn't steal or borrow just use a little magic.

"Oh don't worry. I've spent sometime in a coven, and picked up a trick or two."

Maddie snapped her fingers together. " vestitus quod libri videor."(clothing and books appear)

In a moment a pair of jeans, shirt, and a book appeared. The book was Philosophy for Dummies by Tom Morris.

"There how's that."

As she was starting to work her magic, literately, he would watch. And as the things began to form, a wide smile came across lips. Eyes widening a bit. He had forgotten that she had such skills. He always picked the interesting ones. Funny that.

Well now, this was a bit unexpected. Thank you! Though, blue really isn't my color. but, I guess it'll do.

He smirked, sending her a quick wink with his jest. Picking up the items he would fold the clothes, then flip through the pages of the book for a second. At that point, the many shots of whiskey started hitting him like a ton of bricks! Smiling to himself, a sudden shiver ran down his spine. Then, blues shifted back to her, dancing as hers had been doing before.

Don't happen to have some paper and pencils in your bag of tricks, do ya?

He almost grinned, knowing that she wished to have him do some drawing at some point. Now that he knew for sure that she really going get what she wanted so easily.

And again, when she started doing her mojo, he would look down, watching the items appear. Once they did, a hand would reach out picking up a couple of the pencils. Skilled eyes looked at the quality of the graphite and construction. Nodding, he would smirk, placing the pencil back down. Hand would then drop down to his leg. However, that would drop it right near her own hands. Tips of fingers lightly brushing over her wrist.

Give me a few minutes. I am sure i can find something that would be nice to have on the spot. but I'll give ya a rest for now.

Chuckling, he looked to her. Though, he would look around a bit. Eyes taking in the views of the place that he hadn't seen in quite some time.

Madeline gave a chuckle. "Oh I don't need a rest I'm just getting started."

With that she poured another shot and drank it down. She felt his fingers rub against her own. She could feel a surge of electricity at his touch. If she was butter, she'd be melting.

she leaned in closely towards him, and whispered. "Come on there's got to be something you want more than anything else."

Her chuckle would be joined by his own at her comment. Shaking his head a bit. Watching her pour herself a new drink, he got the idea of pouring himself one. That would most likely not be a smart thing with the way he was starting to feel already...but hell. Why not? And it seemed he may need some additional courage coming up shortly. So, with his un-occupied hand, he would take the bottle once she set it down and filled his glass.

We have done some serious damage to this bottle. Kinda scary considering how short of time it has actually been. But i'm proud of ya. You're holding yourself very well.

He grinned. that hand next to hers still letting fingers glide over hers. For the first time in a long while...he was drifting into uneasy but yet....welcome territory. But then she would be leaning in. Not moving, he just smiled, watching her. Then her whispered words flew through the air and hit his ears and he just paused. With the help of the whiskey, he would be grinning like a mad man, shaking his head lightly. And again, whiskey leading the way, he would lean to her even more.

I'm just glad you can't read minds. Cause the answer to that right now isn't something that is gunna be pulled out of me very easily.

Madeline smiled at the comment. "The bottle looks fine to me. Getting kind of on the empty side, but no worries there, there is always more. And thanks for the compliment. I guess you could thank my dad for the high tolerance. One of these days I'm gonna challenge him to a drinking contest."

She raised an eyebrow to the reading his mind comment. "Oh what would it take?"

He would laugh at the fact that the bottle needed only to be replaced. Leaning back, he would nod. Tongue slipping out to moisten lips. Oh, found a bit of the whiskey taste still. Good thing he caught that.

Well good luck with that. The way I remember him you have quite a task ahead of you. So when you do, let me know so I can get a front row seat.

And then she questioned his leading comment. Which of course would be answer with an even more leading answer. Twas his mood at the moment. Mainly.

I think just a bit more whiskey and some coercion. Simple as that.

Upon hearing he needed more whiskey, she poured a couple more shots.
