Locked in Silence [closed.] Empty Locked in Silence [closed.]

If you don't talk for a stretch of time, do you loose your voice? Armandeus hardly said a word in weeks and in place of his voice that question had rose unbidden. It was something to dwell on beside the fact he was still kicking himself from his last encounter with De'Ryanna. Eru how he regretted what had been said then. Not the feeling behind the words, but the fact they'd been said at all, in the heat of an argument no less. Everything had just went wrong, horribly so, and as an effect the Elf hadn't seen De'Ryanna since that night. And so, in fear of saying something that could make things worse, though he was starting to doubt it couldn't get much more so, Armandeus had taken a vow of silence and stopped talking altogether.

Maintaining silence for a long period of time isn't the easiest thing in the world to do. That was something Armandeus had found out around the second day when he'd very nearly started singing while mopping the kitchen floor. It was an instinct ingrained- to sing and stifling such a response had proved harder than quenching his voice had been. Still he was nothing if not stubborn by nature and even that was enough to keep him locked in silence.

So, what happens when an Elf goes against their very nature and clings stubbornly to maintain their silence? For Armandeus it meant barricading himself in his sanctuary, his kitchen. To anyone who did not know the green-haired chef well they would think nothing was amiss; all the meals were out on time and even some Ar's famous baked goods made their way in. It was only after the kitchen was closed for the evening the faηade of normalcy fell and Armandeus could be found slumped into the corner near the back door, trapped in a misery of his own making. Still, it was not enough to make him start talking.

If you don't talk for a stretch of time, do you loose your voice? The answer: only time can tell.
