On the front porch at sunset Tobias was there. First time he'd been out of his room in a couple days. Besides using the gym but he did that so late at night there wasn't a sound in the whole place on his way down there and back up. Yeah he changed the time he went to the gym. Had to. He needed a couple days to sort things out. Can't sort things out when the issue you're trying to sort is in front of you. He didn't want to take that chance.

About a week and it didn't feel like he got very far. He was thinking about of getting another tattoo. He got one whenever it felt like there was no other way out of his block. Each one he had was a release. The one that covered his back was the first. And represented the worst. He wasn't going to get one yet. Had to figure out what mark would be right first. That took time.

To figure it out he needed to get fresh air. Which is why he was on the porch. He had two things with him. His bongos and his hookah. The bongos he got in Morocco and the hookah he got in India. Both went with him wherever he went even if he was traveling with just the clothes on his back. Both helped to center him whenever things got f-cked up.

He was sitting on the ground. Bongos in front of him. Hookah to the right. The air smelled like rose tobacco mixed with a more pungent herbal flavor. That was the blend he'd packed in the hookah and since it was in the air he'd already smoked some. Now he was in the middle of a beat. Hands tapping the stretched goat skin like a pro. When he'd switched his major back at Princeton it was to music. He'd joined a band too. Both of those moves had made him the official Kennedy black sheep. But he was good. When he drummed he let a lot go. More than any other instrument he could play.

He was dressed like usual. Grubby green cargo pants, black beater and his birks. His gloves weren't on his hands. They were on the ground next to the hookah. He didn't wear them when he was drumming. One of the only times he didn't.

As it got darker the beat picked up. Individual fingers smacking half beats to make the music more complex. His eyes were closed and his head was tilted back as he made up the music for the mantra he was repeating in his head in a silent chant.

Az had been spending more and more time away from the Inn as it grew close to the Battle of the Sexes. She had a feeling the females were going to finally win this year. And she was busy laying down the ground work. She still needed to meet with some more people, but she was hoping the final touches would come tomorrow night at the dance.

Her mind was full of many things, as she walked along the path to the inn. She could of just appeared where ever it was she wished to be, but she liked the walking, the feel of the dirt path, sometimes grass, upon bare feet. People often thought it was odd. She had paused to watch the sun set, for she had a rather clear view, though it was nothing compared to watching it sink down over the water. It would be when she paused to watch, in those moments, that she heard the noise, odd how she had missed the sound of the drumming before.

Taking a deep breath as she started walking once more, and it would be when she smelt something odd in the air, she did have extraordinary senses! Nose would wrinkle as she tried to figure out what exactly it was. Deciding that the smell was not something that she needed to worry about she turned the corner, which left her looking at the front of the inn. Now it made sense, the smell in the air, the sound of drums, for there was someone sitting out there, which did surprise her.

Ah heck, she had walked this far, she might as well move forward, even though she did not think the man had seen her. But if he had, she was not about to become rude, but wouldn't bothering the man on the porch be rude too? It seemed she was stuck on what to do, move forward, hide backwards or simply disappear. She had come to the Inn to be more social, though she was far from her glory days of being a social butterfly, she began to move forward. Steps almost timid, for she did not wish to interrupt him just yet.

When she reached the steps that lead up the porch, she stopped, and moved herself to sit upon the railing. She looked almost as if she had perched herself upon it like a bird might. Except this bird was careful of how she sat, legs crossing at the ankles, though it was hard to tell due to the long white gown she was wearing. Lifting one hand she would move long loose curls back from her shoulder, as she merely waited, not saying a word, till he was done. She had sensed that this man, needed to finish what he was doing, sort of a unease perhaps.

Samantha had been just finishing up a work out. Samantha didn't often enjoy working out. It was pointless when your body burned as many calories as her's did. Even the simple task of keeping her own body temperature burned a surprising amount of fat. The Thought processes alone to actually think about that sort of thing and succeed at getting your brain to send that message out to the rest of your body. It's mind Boggling, and all of that is the reason that Samantha never actually liked working out.

She got all in her own head, which meant not thinking on the fact she was a tread mill and not thinking about the fact that she is on a treadmill leads to many face plants and the embarrassing walk to get back up onto the treadmill. So Sam often avoided that entire mess. Today was an exception though. Call it boredom. Call it lucky, because it was. The scent of smoke, though not the kind from a fire. smelt like pipe tobacco. A scent which brought a ponderous look to the young woman's face and another draw of the smell before Sam, who may have come across as an Ice statue when she stood still started towards the smell, Cracks forming and resealing with each and every movement from her. Of Course that began to change the more she moved, the ice dissappearing away into the natural pale color she normally held by the time she stepped through the door and out onto the porch, with her brother zonked out on a hookah playing his bongo's completely oblivious tot he Audience that he had.

Sam, who probably looked like a scrub in her workout clothes, clingy workout pants and a a tank top. Though considering her brother was allergic to showering she did not see the issue in helping the poor girl out. Slowly, so as not to interrupt her brother in his rockin' out solo to make her way tot he other woman. leaning towards to whisper." If you're trying to get his attention, It'll be a while... he tends to do that for hours."

Om Bruh Om Bhuvaha Om Swaha
Om Maha Om Janaha Om Tapaha Om Satyam
Om Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi
Dhiyo Yonaha Prachodayat

That's the mantra he was making the beat for. The longer ones he always chanted with music. The first line he chanted silently to a slow beat. By the third line it picked up through the fourth and the last line slowed it down again. When the pace picked up he rocked forward and nodded his head to the beat. When it slowed down again he went more still. By two times through he was making variations to the melody and his beat changes never hesitated. It was like he knew the path the music was heading.

He didn't know someone walked up. Didn't even hear the door open or shut. It wasn't until Sammy said something that he knew he wasn't alone. Didn't matter how quiet she was his ear was trained for her voice. Probably because of all those sleepovers she had where her friends came into his room whispering about playing pranks. Those days were hell until he trained himself to wake up when he heard whispering in his sleep.

He opened his eyes looking right in their direction. "Heard that." All he said while he kept the beat going. He wasn't chanting the mantra anymore in his head but the rhythm would still help. He stopped rocking though. Now that he knew people were here some of his defenses were back. "Hi there." Said to the woman next to his sister.

A few more bars of bongos and he stopped. Reaching for the hookah. Picking the tube up he took a deep inhale. "Smoke anyone?" Asked on the exhale. Already feeling more mellowed out. Which was probably good for the two of them. He was easier to deal with after a smoke.

He set the hookah in front of him. Case they wanted a taste. Then he went back to the beats. Picked a different rhythm though no longer trying to time it to chanting. He had to be alone for that.

-:[ Sorry Computer issues yesterday. ]:-

Azlin was once more lost in her own world of thought so she did not hear the woman as she did approach. She had figured that the man would be at this for quite sometime, and therefore she was free to let her mind wander. Thought that did not seem the case at all, not that she minded, not at all. So when the lady did speak, a smile would appear as she looked to her, taking the woman in, much as she had the man. She was much like an absent minded professor it seemed lately. She would lean towards the woman to reply, her own voice not overly loud, yet having a bit of a melody to it, though she was not singing. "I heard people totally zone out when they are doing certain things, I just have never seen it." She paused a moment, "Then I guess I shall just have to wait." If one asked her why she was waiting, she would not have an answer.

She shifted upon the railing a bit, before lifting baby blues between the lady and the guy. And she was rather surprised when he spoke, she had figured that it would be a good long while before he would make a sound. But as that was not to be, she would turn that smile upon him. It was a friendly sort, nothing really off about it, no weird send you running or anything. " 'ello there!"

Normally Az was rather up on things, and things would not be so good at sneaking up on her, perhaps something was rather off with her. Her senses were normally rather keen, maybe she had gotten some sort of cold, if she was susceptible to them. Either way it was something she was going to have to figure out.

When he offered the smoke, Az would shake her head, and unable to help itself her nose would wrinkle just so. "No thank you." She did have manners! She was going to see what was said before jumping into a conversation, as it seemed that the two knew each other, and she was the odd man out. But she decided she could introduce herself to the two, as she did speak her gaze would move between them. "Are you both staying at the Inn? By the way, I'm Azlin, though most just call me Az." Her tone was friendly enough.

"You have no Idea..."Samantha offered a slow nod to the woman, coupled with a crack of a smile that became a full blown out one when her brother spoke up. eyes leaving the young lady before her and traveled over to her brother."I know you did, you where meant to.... probably the reason I didn't write a note."

Sam brushed her fingers back through her hair before walking over to her brother, and this time she didn't even violate his no touching rule. on her way over to his hookah Which she then knelt over and wafted some of the smoke drifting up from it into her nose and took a nice big whiff."Tempting Toby, but I can't. maybe after I finish writing up my paper." Standing strait then and turning on a heel to face the woman again."We Do, I'm Samantha" And she started towards the other woman, It is very nice to meet you."

Samantha would have introduced Toby but He usually didn't like when Samantha spoke for him, its the family blood in him. Strong speaker that one, which is why he had been on the path he was on. But At least now he seemed Happier or at least on the rise a little bit.

"Another paper." He shouldn't've even said that much. Couldn't stop himself though. With the way things were back home he didn't get why she bothered with those papers. What she wrote about mutants the general public didn't want to hear. Toby's opinion was that those papers put her in more danger than they were already in. Which is why he stuck close to her even while they were on another planet. "Even better reason to smoke. Broaden your mind." There was a lot more he could say but he didn't. Good thing.

Instead he looked at Azlin. "Yeah, we stay here." He gave Sammy a look. It said that he didn't forget that she followed him here. "You know sisters. Gotta follow behind and nag at your heels like a Chiuaua. I'm Tobias. People call me a lot of things." He didn't mention any of them. He had a lot of nicknames. Including Bias. There was a story behind that but no one knew him by that name here so there was no reason to tell it.

He picked up the hookah and the lighter. When he dipped the flame in the herbal mix he inhaled until his lungs were totally full. A long drag to keep himself from taking any more digs at Sam. Before they started trading insults in front of a woman they just met.

Changing the topic was a good idea. "So you don't like to smoke huh?" Asking Azlin that. He'd seen her wrinkle her nose when he offered. He was used to reactions like that people always had opinions when it came to smoking. Normally he didn't care about those opinions but it was something to talk about that wasn't anything to do with Sam and what she was working on.

Azlin would give a grin to Samantha hearing the words, and a small nod of her head. She might of said more but that was when Tobias did speak up, and she was rather quiet while they bantered back and forth. Perhaps observing them, perhaps in her own little world, one would not a get a clue looking at her.

Silent she was, still until Samantha did introduce herself, she was watching them, though more like a casual observer nothing someone else standing out side wouldn't do. "Tis a pleasure to meet you Samantha." Az would give the woman a warm smile, the warm would find its way into her voice.

Az had hared about people smoking certain things to expand their minds, or go on trips even. She was curious how smoking something could take someone on a trip, or broaden horizons but she wasn't saying anything, she didn't know either one of them well enough to just blurt something like that out. Give her about five more minutes, and she probably would of.

When they both said that they stayed at the Inn, she felt herself smiling again, though that was rather common, Azlin was normally in a good mood and normally had a smile upon her features. "I think I am lucky to have found the Inn." She gave a small nod, "With some of the places out there." She shook her head, she had her own place away from it all but the Inn was great for when she wished to be social, which she did at the moment.

You might be surprised at what people did in front of people that they just met. But we won't go there just yet, maybe later, who knows! She would instead give a small shake of her head. How to answer the question, yes the truth shall set you free! "The smoke tickles, the smell isn't always the best, and it doesn't seem to do anything for me." She had tried it once! It did tickle her as she choked and it did not mellow her, or give her any peace, it was just as if she walked up to a fire outside and inhaled the smoke. Though she got used to the smell in the area rather quickly, "What is it that you are smoking?" She was a curious girl always had been, always will be, most like. She wasn't one that pushed her opinions on others, though she would voice things, but most of the time it was to each their own.

Samantha narrowed her eyes down at her brother but then smiled big and bright like a good Kennedy at the woman, it wasnt fake or anything, but Toby had the right idea, trading insults was not nice in front of new people."It is very much a pleasure Miss..."

Samantha leaned back, resting her bottom against the nearest railing, on leg moved over in front of the other in a relaxed posture." I know what you mean, you would not believe the placed Toby and I found before we came here..." While Samantha spoke the woman held her hands before her, an exertion of will brought a pair of spectacles formed of the ice she held at her command. they where armless and would then come to rest upon the bridge of her nose before another smile. This one at her brother.

"My mind is really very broad as it is, after all I got to babysit uncle Teddy while he was hallucinating that one time... he comes up with some very fascinating subjects." When Toby exhaled Samantha got another better whiff of the smoke he had coming from the hookah. and couldn't control the small chuckle coming from her.

"That's what that is... Miss, it smells like a bit of rose, and...something else, I cant quite place it myself. what else did you always put in your usual blend Toby?"

Was Sam calling Azlin Miss because she forgot her name? "Azlin, Sammy. Sure you haven't been smoking?" He smirked at her. Toby was feeling pretty good. Mellowed out. After he put the hookah down he tapped his bongos in whatever rhythm he felt. Not hard because he didn't want to drown out what they were saying. Just enough to get his beat on while they had some conversation. He'd come out here to drum so that's what he was doing.

The place he and Sammy were living in before here was just fine. At least he'd smoked enough that he didn't say that one out loud. Pointing out again that he'd tried to go off on his own and she followed him here probably would've made her mad. Most of the time he wasn't trying to make her mad when he said things he just had a bad problem with keeping his mouth shut.

He let the comment about the places they'd been slide but he wasn't going to let her smart assed question about what he put in his usual blend go. But he'd reply to Azlin first. "Well Azzz, a hookah's different than smoking any kind of herb rolled up. Down here at the base there's water so when you take a pull the smoke's gotta come through the water on the way to your mouth. The water traps a lot of the nasty crap that makes you cough and tickle so it's a lot smoother probably than what you've had before." He didn't ask her to try it though because she'd wrinkled her nose and he didn't push people.

He pushed people's buttons though which is kinda different. It was Sam's turn to get a button pushed. "Right Sam? You hit up this bad boy all the time so don't let your nose tell you any different. It's the same stuff you always smoke so you know the recipe." Turned it right back on her. Go ahead Sam, say what else was in it.

Beat Them Drums - Open Empty Re: Beat Them Drums - Open

Post by De'Ryanna Aybara Fri Jul 31, 2009 2:32 pm

As De'Ryanna came off of the steps and stepped on the main floor the slight sound of drums hit her ears. It wasn't a particularly loud sound but her hearing was not that of a normal human and therefore it was heard. Slightly. Over the years she had learned to ignore small sounds and smells that may only be due to trivial matters and she was set on ignoring this one as well, but there was no pressing matter she had to attend and a bit of curiosity was pulling at her as to who could be playing the drums as she had an affinity for the instrument.

She walked over to one of the front windows and stood just at its side so she could see a bit of what was going on outside and she saw who was there: three people she knew of, one of them more than the rest and he was the one doing the drumming. De'Ryanna had reached the window in time to hear Tobias tell Samantha that she should know the recipe. But the recipe to what? Possibly for the slight hint of smoke that was coming from this closed window.

Don't let it be said that she was spying or she would declare that De'Ryanna Aybara most certainly did not spy. She was merely taking a vested interest in the conversation in such a way not to be intrusive, even if Azlin and Samantha stood a very fair chance at seeing a hint of her at the window.

And at the window she would stay - for a little bit at least.

((Sorry it took so long, I was scared of Ryan!! She gives me the willies!))

Az didn't think anything of it when the woman said miss. Though she had indeed said her name, but maybe the woman did not like names, whatever floated ones boat usually worked with her. A bob of her head, as she listened more. "So...not all places you have been have been as nice as the Inn?" Azlin herself had some interesting times, from her first days in Rhy'Din but that's stories for another time. In fact, when Tobias, said Azlins name, the way he did it, caused a giggle. She could not help it, giggles did escape.

Then she would listen quietly when Samantha was speaking of what was in the herb mixture. Bobbing her head as she went, though when she stopped she would blink upwards, before looking between the two. And when Tobias started her attention would bob away from Samantha and back to him, she was the sort that Normally looked at whom she was talking too, not always just normally. Her head bobbing to show she was paying attention. She did think that that made a lot of sense. And she was actually glad that he wasn't the sort to try to push things on people. That never ended up well...for the person that was pushy.

She grinned, at the thought of Samantha's nose actually talking to her, for that was ONE thing she had yet to see, not that she didn't think it was possible. And so when he swung that ball back to his sister, Az's head did the same. She was a curious girl, not that she would actually think much of anything, but who knows until she knows, ya know!

As for the window guest, whom was not spying but merely taking a vested interest, Azlin did know she was there. And she knew whom she was, even if Azlin was not around so much when she was little. She knew her, and knew her parents and for that reason, it would not be a single utterance out of Az's lips, nor would she even so much as twitch a muscle to cause anyone to realize that De'Ryanna was so close by.

This was probably the first time Az was so quiet, they should take it for as long as they could, normally the girl was a chatter box!

Oh the daggers that her wonderful brother got when he made that jibe at her... though one good turn deserves another. And Samantha had asked for that one, didn't she? "Well not all of them, the place we where before here... was called the Alliance and they where very nice and welcoming.

Very welcoming indeed, a lot of very friendly people, and one of Samantha's more recent crushes of course that was before she had met Archer as well. That musing within her mind brought a smile to the young lady's face. " But the place before that, it had a tavern where they wouldn't even serve us a drink.

When Toby set the hookah Down Samantha moved over to sit down near him, cross legged much as he was. carefully reaching over and picking up the hose for the hookah."You know the reason i quit smoking right?" it was the metabolism she had, powered through everything. burned through it all. that was the problem..." The hose was pressed against her lips. eyes looking up over her glasses at their new window friend. offering the woman up there a polite wave.while she drew in a deep breath of the smoke. which was immediately exhaled slowly.

He remembered the Alliance. One of the last times he'd seen Dex was a fight at their Inn. He remembered the tavern before that too. After what Sammy said about it he shrugged. "Still better than sticking around the States." Like every other Kennedy they drank too much anyway. So no harm no foul in not being served drinks. They were mutants, what did she expect? "She just liked the Alliance better because she had a conquest there." Toby'd tried to tell his sister that he didn't think Epiphany was into chicks.

Which got him thinking. He stopped his drumming just as Sammy was taking a pull off the hookah. "Hey now, Azlin. You into loving chicks? Because Sam is always looking for a wicked betty. You're totally her type." It wasn't accident Toby said that while Sam was inhaling. Meant she couldn't defend herself until it was too late. And maybe Azlin was which meant Toby did Sam a good deed by trying to score her a date.

"Because you start waving at things that aren't there?" It was a smart ass answer to Sam. Cause that's what she was doing. From where he was sitting anyway. The sun was glaring on the glass so he couldn't see anyone watching. When it came to her actual reason he thought that was a reason to smoke more not less. Besides. Something good for a little while is better than nothing good at all. She was just making excuses.

Azlin gave a nod of her head, she herself had been at the Alliance, and if it was the same one, she ran it for a bit of time as well, crazy wasn't it? She smiled, "It was a good place, iffen its the same one I am thinking of." She was rather quiet, perhaps there was a reason for that, perhaps not.

She would nod again, conquests at the Alliance, yep check mark. She would tilt her head a moment, as she listened to what Tobias was saying, and then it hit her and she laughed, a soft twinkling sound. "I dare say the most I have done with a girl is kiss her." But to Azlin kissing someone wasn't really anything, she kissed hundreds of people, perhaps even thousands really. Who was counting.

She would laugh, hearing the small jab, she couldn't help it, it was rather funny. She would look between the two of them. She had not lifted herself from the railing as of yet, she was rather comfy there. Though she did feel as if she was interrupting a family moment.

It was while she was exhaling that Toby's response got her to give a cough, a single one, and then one that snowballed down into a lung wracking one. That broke her concentration enough to cause a flash of heat that melted the eyeglasses from her face, a cause that brought the eyes of daggers at her brother."Tobias Johnathan Kennedy!" the hose tot he hookah swung over to give him a little lash with it. her cheeks flushing with Color.

another cough brought that color down, a clearing of the woman's throat followed." I'm sorry about that Azlin... Toby he's a little tactless at times..."pausing there just a bit and then going on." I don't mean to imply that you're not my type, you are really very pretty... but my brother does speak too liberally." toby got a pointed look at that last sentence. "But if ever you would like to have a drink, I would be more then happy to oblige." a nice charming smile from the female Kennedy then.

Beat Them Drums - Open Empty Re: Beat Them Drums - Open

See that's what he was talking about. Sammy's horror melted the ice glasses right off her face. Now things were getting interesting. And with all he smoked sitting out here he was feeling pretty good. So while his sister was trying to cough up her lung he was laughing his ass off. Rare treat. Toby didn't laugh so hard much.

He did what every brother did when they were getting glared at. Picked on her some more. "Aw look whatcha did, Sammy!" His thumb swiped a droplet of water off her face. What was left of those ice glasses. "What if she likes a chick with four eyes?"

Then he looked between Azlin and Samantha. "I am not tactless. And last I checked we -are- liberal. We're f-cking -Kennedys- if you haven't noticed." Said like it was the Kennedys who invented being a Democrat. Which Kennedys tended to believe was true even when it wasn't. Liberals were supposed to speak liberally. It's what they did.

So he kept on with it. "You should have a drink with her Azlin. She can show her secret tricks when it comes to body shots." He wasn't trying to kick them off the deck. He was just trying to find his sister a squeeze. Maybe it was his way of trying to apologize for what he said a few months ago that caused the rift between them. He had strange ways of making up for things he did.

Beat Them Drums - Open Empty Re: Beat Them Drums - Open

Azlin knew how siblings could be, though one might not guess it, and she couldn't help but giggle. And giggle she would! She lifted her baby blues between the two of them, of course she did notice the melting glasses, though she did not think anything of them. She had seen a heck of a lot of things, and that wasn't gonna throw this girl off. no it wasn't.

And she would smile. "I dare say I have never went on a date with a girl." She had to think about that, had she gone on a date with a girl, well she had gone on a date with a guy whom was really a girl, but she didn't know about that due to the whole bots thing. So she had that confused look on her face, "Unless a girl having been changed into a guy who goes back to being a girl after the date counts." She looked rather perplexed. But then she cleared up and had her sunny disposition again. "Although I would love to go get a drink sometime iffen you wished to." She loved people, being the social creature she was.

She got all quiet and she listened back and forth again, it was a bit amusing to her.

Beat Them Drums - Open Empty Re: Beat Them Drums - Open

Samantha Was about to open her mouth and give Toby a nice good verbal thrashing about how tactless he really was. but then, a couple of things happened that threw her off track. Toby invoked the family name, and well she couldn't argue with the logic he put forth. and Azlin also in one way or another asked her out for drinks.

That was when Samantha changed her mind instead, for settled on simply giving her brother the stink eye for a moment. while her hands formed to make a pair of glasses from what seemed to be the thin air. fingers rubbing together as if cleaning off the lenses forming just that from the moisture content in the air. and then the second came to be. which was when the glasses where where placed upon her face, arms for the lenses forming to tuck behind her ears, holding the ice glasses in place.

with her new glasses in place, the stink eye left her brother and traveled to Azlin, along with that nice charming Kennedy smile."There is a first time for anything isn't there?" a look of thought crossed her face then, lasting for nearly half a minute." I don't think that really counts, I would like to go out and get drinks, so that you can have a date that does count?"

His sister was glaring at him and he didn't know why. Unless it was for being right. Which was typical with women wasn't it? When they weren't right lookout. At least Samantha had never been much of a slapper. He'd reached his slap quota for this month already.

While she was glaring he didn't do a damn thing besides stare back at her. Until Azlin was willing to get drinks. Then he held up two fingers. Wasn't meeant to be a peace sign. Sammy'd know what he meant. Victory. She'd yelled at him for his behavior but his behavior paid off in her favor. He smirked.

He knew Sammy well. He knew she wouldn't be able to pass up an opportunity. Especially since Azlin was a looker. While Sammy was laying out her proposition Toby was packing it in. Wrapping the hoses around the hookah he stood up with it in one hand and his bongos in the other.

"My work here is done. You two ladies have a couple drinks for me." Even if they weren't going on the date now it didn't matter. Besides setting them up Toby's other work of chilling out was done. He was feeling mighty fine and ready to go inside to meditate.

So if Ryanna was still spying through the window she better look sharp when she heard the sound of the doorknob turning.

The forming of the glasses did not surprise Azlin in the least. She had seen many many things. And she could do many many things herself. Not that most people would know, she was not the sort that flaunted her gifts. And she wasn't thinking anyone was at the moment either. She would smile, "Sure, sounds like fun. Just let me know when you want too." She gave a small nod of her head, and a twinkle of a laugh. "Yeah I didn't know if that would count or not."

Azlin was actually into males, but what could it hurt going out for drinks on a date with Samantha? Who knew what could happen until it happened right? Besides it seemed like forever ago when she was last on a date. Hopefully Samantha didn't think Az was the butch sort.

Az would turn baby blues to Tobias, "Have a good night." She even flashed him a smile. Not that she was overly talkative tonight. She had gotten some of her curiousity answered.
