Missing Cargo Empty Missing Cargo

Post by Leo Mon Jul 14, 2008 1:50 pm

A year ago his Master had gone off to lands across the sea with his fiancι, leaving him alone in Rhydin to take care of the day-to-day operations. He really didn't mind. Though his title was that of a servant they seemed more so like brothers. Everything had been going well at the shop until a week ago. A storm had caught one of the ships, completely catching her out of the blue, and ruining half of the cargo.

The ships' captain had been rambling on for nearly an hour about the perils at sea, but Leo hardly cared for any of it. "Stop. Just stop." He pressed his hands on to top of his desk, hearing it creek under the pressure. Leaning forward, his eyes set on the gristle bearded sailor on the other side "I don't think that you fully understand the depth of this accident. What are you going to do about our missing cargo?"

Sweat started to bead on the man's forehead. Looking across the desk at Leo had the feeling of being put on trail. Though the captain was larger than the other man by stature, and older in age the gaze set on him was belittling. "I could pay you for what was lost." He pulled a scrap of cloth from his front pocket and wiped his face. "Ain't like I can be controlling the weather and ---"

"Enough with the excuses! You're lucky that he isn't here. He doesn't take kindly to people who don't deliver on their orders. Get out."

The Captain wasted no time in getting from his seat and exiting. Leo had a lot to do. Rooms were already being secured at a new Inn opening in New Haven. Now all he had to do was get more cargo.
