In Rememberence.
It was a day for Remembrance back out in Good Doctor Blake's homeland back on Earth. Earth... it held a sort of hold on him as well. It had been his home as well, A place he had fought hard to defend, a place he had lost allies in. and a place where he and his love had pledged to live when it was the cycle of Ragnarok had been broken.
Thor had found himself tonight on that blue sphere. more specifically in Washington DC. moving to visit his greatest of friends, Steven Rodgers. Captain America. A man who was truly the single greatest warrior that Thor had ever fought beside. The only mortal man that could say that he once lead the God into battle.
As it was, Thor was not the only one who had thought to visit the shrine of the Great Captain. There was a massive gathering, Mortals, Their heroes... masked and costumed, and uniformed standing before the statue of the man who had lost his life for the ideals that he upheld.
Thor Landed in his flight next to Clint Barton, Hawkeye one of the avengers. Reaching up to place a hand on the mans shoulder offering a comforting pat to his friend and former team mate. Blue eyes watching as Tony Stark gave a heartfelt speach. Thor detested that man, though even a god would respect a man as he bore his soul, the soul that showed his true remorse for someone that he considered a friend. When Tony stepped back from the podium Thor stepped forward, offering Tony only a matched gaze as he stepped past his former team mate taking his place at the podium next.
"My kind, my being spend their lives in battle, it is solely out lot in life. battle in a perpetual cycle of life, death and rebirth. Know that in the eons that I have found myself on a field of battle. It was here, in this country, not three miles from this very spot that I met the single greatest man I have ever known. Steven Rodgers did not have the strength of a moving train, or the speed of the blowing torrents of wind. Nor did he have a suit of armor that granted him abilities thought only in ones dreams. He did not have any of those things. But he was a man that inspired courage strength and ability in all those he kept close. This land, This country has been in a state of mourning, been feeling in a great loss. drowning in its own sorrow... I have come here this day, in order to impart upon you the knowldge that Steven Rodgers is not turely dead! Steven Rodgers warrior spirit has not traversed to the great hall of Valhalla. It has stayed here, in this land. So as to help, to continue the mans work, inspiring your civil service workers. Driving your heroes to their deeds of greatness... spreading his courage to you all, offering to help you through this trying time. All you need to is accept his offer..."
Thor Paused in his speaking, to cheers and some jeers. to which he heard the shout 'where were you when he died?!' a question to which the Thunder God Answered with another question." My presence would have done little to swayhis death. Steven died taking the bullet for another...as it was, the fates deemed it his time. His death was not in vain though, through his death will come progress will come healing... this I promise you."
Thor reached behind his back, and rose Mjolnir above his head, carrying him into the sky, a storm pulling in over the city." It shall rain this day, as it rained upon the day of his death... and through this rain shall woe and discourse be cleansed." an arc of lightning screatched from the sky and struck his hammer, a strick that brought with it a rumble of thunder, followed by a slow building sprinkle into a nice calm rain. and with the rain the Thunder God's work here was done. the people would mourne their hero. through the rain, and tomarrow, they would awaken to a new day, and a seemingly brighter outlook.
