Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
Once upon a time he was gonna follow in the footsteps of Uncle J and Uncle Teddy. Eyes were on the prize. A seat in the senate. He part of one of America's most famous political families. A senate seat was not a long shot not at all. He just had to play his cards right. A life of do the right thing and it would be his.
He never expected his body to do the wrong thing. -That- gene flared up. Of all god damn things to happen. And he went from the Kennedy family's next political dynamo to having to be a black sheep dressed up in a white sheep's clothing. And he'd tried to be a white sheep. Keep the mutation on the DL. Even with Sam and Dex always nagging on him to stop being Stepford. It had been going pretty well too. He was the golden boy. Pictures with all the right people. Fingers in all the right pies. Proud Princeton matriculate. Until it happened. Even with the pretending it got the best of him. No turning back then.
To this day only he knew what happened to make it all change. Not even Sam and Dex knew. Not even with both of them snooping when the body switching happened. He made sure there was nothing to be found. After it'd happened he called quits on the rest of the semester. Took off to India. Stayed there for a couple months. Learned some things. Got his first two tats. Opened his mind.
When Tobias came back to the states he was barely a Kennedy anymore. "Dirty hippy" was a phrase dropped a lot. And he was. Hair usually coiled in dreds. Dressed like a slacker. Acted like a slacker. Changed up his major to music. But he ended up dropping out before he got the degree anyway. Who needed it. Smoke, meditate and fade into the shadows with the family money to keep him trucking. Hush money? Maybe.
Didn't matter if they hushed Toby though. Dexter and Samantha made public stinks enough for all three of them. And since they were triplets, kind of obvious he also had the same "problem". And look what happened. Everything went public and things turned sour. To the point where it wasn't too safe for people like them anymore.
Cut to Rhy'din. He and Sam sharing an apartment. Her still trying to save the word, Dex still trying to punish the humans, and him just trying to stay the hell out of all of it. Had been going kind of well until Sam started seeing that genius guy and got knocked up. Toby'd said some things. Well once central thing. "Why the f--- would you want to bring another mutant into this world?" Yeah, so that was an asshole thing to say. Made her upset. That wasn't the whole story though.
It was when she lost the kid that's when he really felt like an asshole. He didn't get why she'd want to bring another mutant into this world but he got how much she was hurting over losing the chance to. He didn't know what to say to make it right. Or what to do. So he did the same thing he always did when he didn't know what the hell to do. He picked up and went somewhere else.
He left a note on the table they used for mail keys and stuff. All it said was, "Time for some space yeah? Sorry for the badness. - TJ." He had no clue where he was gonna go. But he went. Packed up his stuff into two duffel bags and a backpack and he was out of there.
Found here. He probably wouldn't stick around here for long, it was too close to their place. But it would do for now. The dirty hippy stood in front of the check out desk. Hair wasn't dreads yet but it was on its way since he hadn't washed it in a while. Blue t-shirt no sleeves, worn out cargoes, even more worn out birkenstocks. The strange part was the gloves. Grey, just the tops of the fingertips cut off. Toby always wore gloves even when it was hot a hell out because wearing the gloves had nothing to do with temperature. He had a belt too, and on the belt there were these small leather pouches each pouch not bigger than one inch by two. Seven of them in total. Just in case he needed to defend himself. No there weren't weapons in any of them. Just normal household stuff unless you were not normal like he wasn't normal then the stuff was useful in a different way.
Was there a bell or something? Ding if there was. Otherwise he just waited for some service.

Re: Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
Someone had changed the bells ringer. That someone was a person who had been given a very firm talking too about messing with things that were not their. Not only that, but the maniacal blond had thought it rather hilarious - either that or she was bored, who knew when it came to her. There were even tiny characters drawn with captions next to the names of the people in the ledger. Not to mention a half written story, complete with pictures. She knew her foster-sister was creative, but she rarely got to see the results of her 'free time."
There was no way of fixing the bell and therefore it had been replaced with a new one. A nice, not too shiny, standard silver bell with a black base, that made a nice sounding 'ting' when the button on top was tapped. The ledger, unfortunately, wasn't something that could simply be replaced; and so, when the next few people signed in, they would be witness to the small 'illustrated story' in the pages. Perhaps they would think it some standard thing and not ask.
When the bell was wrung, the ting, echoing down the hall, it didn't reach De'Ryanna's ear. She knew someone was at the desk because a Ward had been triggered and she was already in the process of answering.
She came walking out the doors of the Meeting Hall, the pleats in coco-colored floor length skirt causing the fabric to shift when she walked. The creme colored top she wore fit perfectly and her hair was up and away from her face. Everything about her seemed to be neat and in order. Even the way she moved, like every step was pre-planned and fluid. The Front Desk was in viewing distance of the Hall and as such she saw the man who stood there. Though it was touted as a morally wrong thing to do, she was already sizing him up in her head and making her assumptions. One of them being that he could do with a bath. And a change of clothes.
Perhaps this man was the result of an attack in the city and that was the reason he looked disheveled. He could be here now looking for a place to stay because he had nowhere else to go. Light forbid he was a homeless man. If he was she could use in to clean out the stables or some other such duty to pay for his keep. Far be it from them to turn anyone away who needed a place.
Drawing near she displayed a small and courteous smile that remained even as she took position behind the desk. Friendly. That's what was needed, but she was never overly so. When she spoke, her voice was clear with a slight business edge. "Greetings, and welcome to the Tel'Ranaemyn Inn." Eye contact was good. It kept her from taking in the rest of his attire.
"How may I help you?"

Re: Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
He didn't blink anymore when it came to people. From inaugural balls to poorest India he'd been there and he didn't prefer one to the other as far as people went. Even if his chance at a seat was destroyed he still loved the political life. And even if there was poverty hunger and thirst he loved the nobility of the families keeping on despite the odds. Which is why he didn't blink at this clean fashionable woman who walked up. He'd seen plenty of people like her before all his life.
He was used to being sized up too. Different reason depending on where he was. Sized up as a Kennedy vs an American vs a mutant anywhere he'd gone he'd been sized up in some way. Except for here, this place on this planet. Most of the time people had stranger things to size up than some human guy. That's why he liked here. That and this place was far from the war. He wasn't Dex. He was no warrior with a cause.
He didn't see her looking him over anyway. He was looking down at the ledger. It was open right? She'd see Toby stepping closer to get a better look at it. It was the drawings that were weird. Made him wonder if this was a nursery or school or something and he'd walked into the wrong place. So it was a good thing she called it an inn when she walked up. Blue eyes rose from the ledger to look at her. And he shrugged.
"I'd like a room, if you got one." Boston accent was thick. It was no uppercrust New Englander accent like it should've been. Toby'd worked that out of his voice. If he sounded working class the chances of getting asked, Are you one of -those- Kennedys, would be less.
"For a couple days. How're your rates, sister? You got a gym here?" Last question probably shouldn't be a surprise. He looked he worked out. As he reached for his wallet he piled a couple more questions on. "Pool? Golf course? Wouldn't mind one a those." There was something real satisfying about hitting a ball with a club as far as you could smack it. He could use it.

Re: Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
"A room with two beds." Rang from the front door, another Boston accent, though the female voice from the door was less accented then her brothers. something she had fought hard for. you cant speak at a genetics conference with a Boston accent. You could, but it wouldn't be very well received, science was not like politics in that so long as you're charismatic you'll do well enough. Oh, no... those scientists where relentless especially when you publicly spoke upon the topic of genetic mutation during what those same people in politics called another civil war. Not to mention the fact that the girl who would be speaking in favor of rights for the genetically mutated was one of the Kennedy's. Yes, she was also one of those Kennedy's.
Samantha though, was the polar opposite of her brother. Where her brother looked like a slacker she was nice and well dressed. Where he was blonde Samantha had died her hair a darker color, her own way of shunning off the family attention. how well dressed was she? well pretty well dressed, she had just given a lecture with the assistance of her nice awkward drinking buddy Archer. As that was the case, The Kennedy sister had chosen a nice dark blue ladies skirt suit. with a lighter blue blouse underneath it. The skirt itself was maybe an inch or two north of the knee for a conference but she wore it well. Having rather nice long shapely legs did well for things like that.
Short dark hair was tastefully styled back from her face and contrasted the pale skin she had very well, making the smile she was sporting as she made her way to join her brother simply pop. The heels of the shoes she was wearing may have also been a little high for her line of work. But, they where nice, and went with the outfit. they also made her small 5'6" frame a respectable 5'10". Another great benefit of standing taller was that most men where forced to look you in the eyes, which also meant fewer stolen glances down her blouse.
"Sorry I'm late, i got caught up at work." that was said with a pointed glance at her brother before chestnut brown orbs left her most beloved of hippies to the woman behind the counter."Please excuse my brother here Miss... " pausing to lean forward a little bit." Its the new style back where we're from." and then Samantha leaned back looking back up to her taller brother."Unless of course you'd rather two different rooms... provided of course that there is more then one vacancy?" that was left as an open ended statement. Asking rather overtly for an answer to her question. bringing a hand up around her big brothers back, wrapping around to give him a hug. She may not have been the happiest with him, but he was was still her brother and the only one she spoke to.
Well that wasn't true, because Dex sent her a post card from time to time, usually only had one word on it. 'Alive' sometimes he added in an 'I Love You' but that was rare. Which probably made them sweeter. Mostly because he actually took the time to come out and say it. Unlike some people in present company did.

Re: Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
Sister? To her understanding this phrase attachment was likened to those other terms she heard, such as: baby, sweetheart, darling, doll, ect. Needless to say, it was not something she preferred but calling her 'sister' was better than one of the others. Especially baby. The last time someone had called her that they ended up struggling to breathe.
It almost brought about a change in her facial expression. Almost. The smile on her face remained ever tacted as she listened to the rest of what this vagabond had to say.
Although, before she said anything, she wanted to get something across. "De'Ryanna," spoken in a rather matter-of-fact manner. "My name, is De'Ryanna."
Could it be that he had spoken to her as he had because of the drawings in the ledger? Having ignored it upon her approach she would continue to do so now, no sense in drawing more attention to the artwork. It was just another object on the desk. "And our rates vary from fifty silvers to four gold a week depending on your needs. If you are in need of specialized accommodations it may cost you more. We can even fit you into the stables with the horses if that's more to your liking."
That last bit had been added almost as an afterthought, albeit it ran the risk of sounding coy. They did have a guest that had stayed by the stables before. She was going to mention the work plan, but decided to let the implications of the stable comment stand.
"We do have a modernized gym, complete with a sparring arena and a lap pool." Those things were in the basement. The builders did a wonderful job when the building needed to be expanded; a person could hardly tell that they were going underground at all.
Now, enter the other. The sister.
Aside from the way she was dressed De’Ryanna liked her better already because she had chosen to address her by ‘Miss’. Funny how a persons chosen choice of words can change a viewpoint. They were different, for brother and sister, and it wasn’t too much of a surprise. If anyone were to size De’Ryanna up with her brother it would be difficult to tell that they were siblings. Personality wise anyway.
As she had poised a question it took her away from answering the one about golf courses – besides, she didn’t know what those were. “There is more than one vacancy depending on what type of room you are looking to occupy.” Her eyes had been on the sister but now drifted to the brother before she looked back to the other. Perhaps she should do business with her.
“There are rooms with two beds on the second floor, The rooms on the third floor can be equipped to hold up to four comfortably. As I was telling your brother, what you want of the room determines how much it is going to cost.”
Looking back to the brother now, her smile widened a fraction of an inch.

"It's -not- the new style where we're from." Yeah out of everything said that's what mattered to him. Eyes on De'Ryanna when he said it. "Don't listen to her De'Ryanna. Anything she says including me needing to shower. I shower plenty." He did. Just didn't wash his hair. You don't get dreads if you wash your hair. Couldn't be the best dirty hippy you could be without dreads.
That said it was time to deal with Sam. Eyes on her. "Listen Sammy, don't know if you realized but I can't take off if you follow me. This," hand gesturing between them, "isn't so much space." Did she remember? Note he left on the mail and keys table, said it was time for some space and sorry? Maybe she was sniffing too much Bunsen burner gas or something and her memory wasn't what it used to be.
He didn't step off when she hugged him though. That was something. Toby didn't like to be touched. He had his reasons for but kept them unsaid. Sammy though he didn't mind most of the time unless he was in a mood. Damn mutation made it so they switched up bodies sometimes, compared to that a hug was nothing personal. It made him want to sigh though. For all his hippy pothead eastern philosophy meditation stuff he sucked when it came to emotional crap and it looked like she was gonna push the issue.
"So if you're gonna insist on following how bout I shack up in the stables and you get a fancy room?" He smirked at the pair of them. He wasn't a fan of horses but if it made his point hell he'd do it. What he'd said to her and what had happened he wasn't comfortable with it. He was dealing with it the only way he knew how. Stepping off until he meditated his way out of feeling like a dickhead. She should know his drill by now.
Obviously they weren't going to be sharing a place even if he didn't end up in the stables. And the issue of money still stood. The rates didn't bother him but the method of payment was another story. So he talked at De'Ryanna again. "You take American currency? Credit? Checks? Or do I have to get myself to a currency exchange?"
Then he had an afterthought. Wasn't sure if he wanted to bother with introductions but since the check-in girl had he would. Figured she'd get their names anyhow if they were gonna stay here. "Tobias Kennedy." A thumb over at Sam, "my sister Sammy."

"hm? you wanted space? I'm sorry... I didn't know. I saw you coming down this way when I was at Archers...." She really was playing stupid, she totally saw that note.Saw it, read it, thought on it for a while... and then, Samantha Decided not to listen to it.Already she had lost one brother, there was going to be no way she would allow a second to be taken away from her for any reason.
Which is why that even while she was staying with Archer in Dublin she still came home to Toby for the weekends. Maybe to keep tabs on him, or Maybe it was because she felt bad for leaving and staying with a man over in Ireland. Whatever the reason she was certainly grateful that Archer was able to make her a passage way form their place in Dublin to The place she and Tobias shared out in Rhy'Din.
To the words her brother gave her he got a nice elbow in the ribs."I'm sorry, I've never said that he does not shower, I've said that he never washes his hair..." a sweet smile to The young lady behind the counter, leaning over to her brother whispering softly to him.'I have the local currency... its alright.' A nod to Miss De'Ryanna. It was Samantha's turn to size this woman up.This young lady reminded Samantha of herself. Well from the first encounter. Seeming to be all business, Though she was being friendly which was a good thing.
"Miss De'Ryanna; I think we will be booking two rooms please... Preferably ones that are not adjoining. If that is at all possible."She was speaking in a politely professional tone. "I would like a simple room, a queen sized bed if possible." Pausing the Kennedy sibling opened her suits jacket sliding a hand inside of it in order to pull from its depths a coin purse. there was no need for a wallet when all of the money was in coin form here in Rhy'Din. with the coin purse in her hand she offered it up to her brother.
She didn't want a separate room, but its what her brother wanted, The look Toby would get then was one he would know well. one that said' I would rather not be alone' but she pushed it away with a smile as if to say' but i can be.'

Re: Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
This was interesting, watching the interaction of the two, she followed it with her eyes as she looked from one person to the other. As she heard Tobias was trying to get a bit of space and his sister wasn't in the mood to afford him that particular desire. Siblings.
Something that she did find appealing was the fact that the man, Toby, was in agreement with her: he should be with the other animals. At least the reason as to why he was in such a state had cleared - he was going for dreadlocks. It didn't help much, but at least it explained his appearance. He did manage to get a bit of a more friendly smile from her with the comment about actually wanting a room in the stables, and she was of mind to grant him his request. Until, that is, Sam mentioned having an adorning room. Unless she wanted to stay in the stables as well.
Now she would pay attention to that dreadful looking ledger. Toby was going to stay despite of it - though that could be because it sounded as though he wanted to get away from things - and it didn't appear that his sister had paid it much attention. If she had seen it at all. The ledger would be momentarily hidden from sight as she placed another book on top of it. This book was a pictorial listing of where everyone was, a blueprint of the rooms. She needed this if she was going to find two rooms that linked.
Her eyes were away from them and she trailed her finger along the page. Searching, searching - adorning rooms were not something that they did however, if she found two rooms that were side by side, she could modify them in an hour or so to fit their needs. "You're in luck," she said, her finger pointing between two room and her head lifted up so that she could look at them. Because she had been searching for rooms she missed the way that Sam had looked her over. If she had seen it the gaze would have been met. "I have two rooms, side by side on the second floor, which are vacant.
"Currently there is no way to pass from one to the other without physically leaving your room and knocking on the others door," looking from one to the other. "But, if you give me an hour that can be remedied. The furniture can even be removed and substituted with hay if you insist on having a stable-esque feel." The 'you', of course, was Toby and those words were directed at him.
"As for currency, we take both. Though you may want to pay when you check out as you are able to put any food that you consume from the bar on your rooms tab." Sometimes it was easier that way.
That being said she put away the blueprint and pulled out two sheets of paper. "If only one person is paying for the rooms then only one person needs to sign. If each of you will be paying for his own, you each need to sign a sheet." A pen was placed on the desk. The papers were the standard room agreement. It had the floor and room number and the basic rules of the establishment.

Re: Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
He almost corrected De'Ryanna about the adjoining room thing. Since Sammy'd asked for two that didn't adjoin to humor him. But it was the look Sammy gave him which kept his mouth shut. Why'd she have to give him -that- look that reminded him of why he stuck by her like he did? To keep an eye on her. And keep her safe. Most of all keep her the hell away from Dex and his damn revolutionary attitude. Last thing he needed was both of them getting twisted up in that bullcrap and killed.
He put his two duffel bags down on the floor. He realized this was gonna take longer than he thought. Forking an eyebrow up at Sammy. Blunt as usual. "So the place we had, you're just gonna abandon it to stay in some hotel." Just because he was abandoning it, that was the part he didn't say.
He pulled out his wallet. Samantha coming in here'd distracted him from doing that before. Cracking it open he checked out how much cash he had in there. Pulling out what he had, he set the short stack of bills on the counter. Glancing at De'Ryanna. "That should cover me a while." How long was a while? Depended on the rates. He saw the pen there on the desk. But he fished one of his own out of his pocket, touchy about touching some things. He signed his name on the sheet. All of this put together obviously meant he was going to pay for his own bill.
"I'll BYOH. Bring My Own Hay. You can remove the furniture though if you've got the urge." That was to De'Ryanna. He was serious about that. He figured that since he'd come here to meditate on things and do his mantras until he didn't feel like a dickhead anymore he wouldn't need furniture. Maybe not having any would help. Who knows anymore? He sure as hell didn't. If he thought the world that he and Samantha came from was safe enough he'd probably be on an ashram in India by now.
His blues looked between De'Ryanna and Sammy. "But that whole pass between rooms thing, that's all her." Decision that is. A gesture to his sister and he put his pen back in his pocket. Folding his arms across his chest, eyes were on Sammy. It was her move.

Re: Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
"No thank you, those two rooms will be fine." Samantha said to her with a sweet rather professional smile. and a curt nod. but with that said those brown orbs traveled up to her brother." The door is locked, and I can still go check the mail. besides..." eyes fell then, to her coin purse, fingers buried in it as she rummaged around for the bits of gold that the woman behind the counter had told her. which was placed on the counter with another smile."Its not like either of us are ever actually there you know?"
"So, now, we don't have to worry about it, that is where most of our stuff is. And we can go back if we need more of our stuff, so everything is right as rain and peachy keen alright Toby?" Toby got a nod and a poke to his chest , eyes returning to the woman behind the counter again." I'm sorry miss, would you care to show us to our rooms please?" Samantha, who had since decided that if this woman was going to be all business then she herself should be as well.
Which worked out well enough, as Miss Geneticist could be professional and all business also. The change purse was placed back into the inside of pocket of her suit jacket, sliding hands into her pockets. Waiting politely to be escorted to her lodgings for the night.

Re: Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
De'Ryanna could not decide if she fancied Tobias or not, this had nothing to do with physical appearance. Samantha, she liked. Clean cut, business, to the point. She thought that maybe she could talk to this one.
That a different pen was used to sign the book did not make much of a difference, nor did it matter as long as the person made their mark. Money was set down and collected - separately as it was two different types of payment - and put into the appropriate sections of the money container. On the outside this container was rather dull and ordinary (it was something her sister didn't tinker with, for if she had then this plain oak box would surly be littered with markings.) As she put the money away she said to them: "Thank you for paying pior to your stay," sharing a smile between the brother and sister.
"The remaining balance from your room will be credited towards any purchases made at the bar." They wouldn't have to worry about paying for their meals.
Everything was signed and the payment processed, De'Ryanna took the ledger and put it away before grabbing up a couple of room keys. Samantha had asked to be shown to the rooms. "This way please." And, with a twirl of her long skirt as she moved from behind the desk and headed up the stairs. They would follow, correct? Being that she had, effectively, told them to follow.
Tobias had said that he would 'bring his own hay' and she took him literally. While they ascended the steps De'Ryanna was busy doing a simple weave in one of the rooms. All the furniture in an unclaimed room was tagged - helped to keep track of what was being used - and therefore age erected a small gateway and pulled on the tags to remove said items. Was this one of her personal 'magics', or was it borrowed... Either way, it would get the job done.
She wasn't much of a talker and so she didn't say anything as they walked. On the second floor she went to the left and down the hall. Near the back, on the right side, she stopped in front of two rooms. "Here you are. Tobias, your room is to my left. You can acquire hay from the stables if you like or you can buy from market." That room, now, was effectively empty from all furniture: bed, dresser, desk and chair. Even the rug. Nothing was there that wasn't built in.
She held out her hand and in it were the two keys. Rooms 210 and 212.

Re: Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
Toby wouldn't bother mentioning that most of his stuff was in the two duffels and not back at the other place. Let Sammy have her makes no sense logic if she needed to. "Yeah well we all don't have some genius to shack up with." He made that dig because she poked him. Not because it hurt. It was the touching thing. Which he usually let her get away with but sh-t he was letting her get away with a lot right now. Like hunting him down here. He had to give her lip for something.
He pocketed his pen. Other hand rubbing over where she poked him. A habit of his he always rubbed fingers over where people touched him. Maybe wiping something away. At least he didn't say anything about how uppity both of them were behaving. They saw it as professional he saw it as uppity. Tomata, tomato. All how a person looked at it he guessed which is why he didn't say anything on it.
"No problem." His short and sweet reply to De'ryanna's thanks. "Bar," he smirked. "do we look like drinkers to you?" See that was ironic because they were. He was, Sammy was, Dex was, their whole damn family was. Can't get through life being part of -the- family without walking through it dazed at least half the time, yanno? The Kennedy clan's relationship with booze made the news a lot over the years. Just ask Uncle Teddy. Tobias shot his smirk straight at De'Ryanna before picking up his bags to follow after the ladies.
Tobias wasn't much of a talker either. So it was up to Sammy if she wanted traveling conversation. He didn't say anything until he was handed his key. "From -market-?" Where he was from Market was a street name or some place you went to buy other people's junk. He had a backwoods picture in mind cause of that. "I'll figure it out."
He wasted no time. Putting key to lock and pushing open the door. The fact the furniture was gone already that freaked him out a little bit. "Man." A look over the shoulder at De'Ryanna. "You guys work fast here." He didn't even see her radio someone, the staff or whatever. And she was with him the whole time. So how and when? Rhy'din. This place was something else. Not a world he trusted but right now he was safer here than home. It was tricky people like De'Ryanna that made him and Sammy look normal and not worth giving a second glance to.
He turned to stand in the doorway facing them both. "Been a riot ladies but I should get to exploring." Ironic because this bare place wouldn't have much to explore. But that wasn't gonna stop him from using the excuse. "Have a good one." He closed the door. Bet Samantha was wishing she'd ordered passage between rooms thing right about now as Toby shut her out.

Samantha smiled politely and offered a nod to the woman behind the counter and then carried that smile over to her brother. A smile which was promptly washed away when he gave that little jab about who she had been staying with. and she gave Toby another look that he was also familiar with. A look that showed that he had hurt he, but who is to say he even saw it, because Samantha came back with the business woman face a split second later." Yes, we all cant just run away to India when we're having issues... some of us, go to friends for help." That was muttered under her breath so that neither would have been able to hear her.
"Thank you very much Miss De'Ryanna is there a general layout map of the inn? So that we can explore the grounds" putting on a smile again Samantha turned to face the woman reaching forth to take her own room key. smiling up to Toby at that jibe about drinking and then back to De'Ryanna." Perhaps to find just that. Find a drink." Of course that was exactly when Toby made his fast departure and dissappeared into his room.
The click of the door behind him made Samantha flinch a bit and then her head fell. one of her hands raising up and placing on the door itself. picking her head back up."I'm sorry Miss, he does that sometimes... Thank you again. place, have a good day." and there was another nod. If De'Ryanna would notice the color of Sam's hand would soon drain, replaced by an influx of blue before that too faded into the milky whiteness that was ice. Through that hand Samantha channeled that ice, that cold into Toby's door, spreading it down through the door, it was her payback. now he would have to deal with the freezing cold temperature for a while.
Now, Samantha was going to go into her room, and get herself nice and comfortable.

Re: Yeah, One of -Those- Kennedys
Inside Toby dropped his bags in the center of the room. He'd just pulled one of them open to find his mat when he felt the temperature dropping fast. He didn't look around to see if there was an AC on. He knew Sammy was going to retaliate to his fast exit somehow and he recognized that freezing feeling. She'd retaliated with it a lot ever since they were teenagers. And he felt it firsthand too whenever their bodies got switched up. He wasn't too good at controlling her power whenever they were switched. Whole lot of accidents.
As the room got colder he smirked and shook his head. He didn't go back to the door. He didn't yell out to her to ask her to stop. He just reached down and popped open one of the pouches on his belt. Fingers gripping the piece of rubber inside he absorbed it. The change in him was unnoticeable on the outside. Unless someone came in here and gave his arm a stretch. They'd be able to pull it out like taffy and see for themselves how his body absorbed the rubber's properties. Including the fact it was just fine in cold temperature.
Wasn't the way he planned on meditating but hey? It was a way around Sammy's immaturity. That's right, immaturity. He put the rubber back in his pouch. Found his mat, laid it out, sat on it in the lotus position and started chanting one of the mantras. Wasn't as good as India but it'd do.
