An Interesting Proposition
..........Hi. I suppose first things are first, and seeing as how I appreciate formalities, allow me to introduce myself. I am the Wolf. Many of you may not know of me, most of you haven't even heard of me, and even less of you know my character. This may seem to be a bit odd for some of you, however my character has a particular ability which I need to discard, and the only way to do so is by passing it onto another character.
..........Ixon's power is abundant, and his abilities are nearly limitless, as he has gained many abilities and skills through the various storylines he has experienced. I've spent a good deal of time trying to come up with a way to limit his abilities and powers in an attempt to make him more balanced and realistic to some degree. I've spent the last few years away from role playing, and only recently was I invited back to the realm of Rhy'Din. Recently, I think I may have found a solution to my issue.
..........I intend to find a worthy player, one who can play along with the ability's strict set of rules and who’s character has little to no abilities already, simply because of the ability in which I intend to give is quite powerful, though comes with a price. The ability I speak of, is an extremely useful ability for many different types of characters which if given to the wrong character, could unbalance the character's abilities and powers and make them very overpowered... This is in fact what happened to my character. The ability was given to him by a friend of mine's character roughly seven or eight years ago, when he decided to quit role playing. He retired his character by having him sacrifice himself in order to keep Ixon alive after being mortally wounded in battle.
The specifics of the ability is as follows:
..........Summary: The Seed of Life is a parasitic seed planted within the heart of a near death victim. It's roots and vines then expand throughout the blood stream, mutating the genetic code in order to bond with its host and enable the victim to become photosynthetic. As it feeds on the impurities and toxins, it quickly regenerates any damaged tissue as well as purifies and sterilizes any poisons, toxins, and most diseases in the characters body. This process rapidly increases while submerged under water. If the Seed of Life senses danger, it may defend itself, and it's host, by quickly producing tendrils and thorns from the host's skin. Due to the photosynthetic properties, it drastically reduces the host's resistance to fire and heat.
..........The Photosynthetic properties basically grant the host nourishment and serves as a mechanism to feed the character via sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water. This in turn would allow a person to get away with never having to eat anything ever again - at least orally. Without the three basic elements which a plant survives on, the body will simply grow weak over time until the Seed of Life starts to feed off of the life force of it's host, which could ultimately kill the person if they don't nourish the flora.
..........A person can also seek nourishment in the usual manner as well in order to fortify the body, via eating as they normally would. The nutrients and nourishment gained through eating normally is not necessary - or enough on it's own - to sustain the flora's life, as a small portion of the three elements that keep a plant healthy must also be present. Carbon dioxide for one is produced by the lungs in exchange for oxygen that it consumes, which can also enable the host to hold their breath for extended period of time. The host must provide their flesh with sunlight on the occasion, at least once a week, in order to keep the plant within them alive. This also makes the Seed of Life impossible for most nocturnal creatures to possess. Specifically Vampires, as their natural weakness to such light would kill them, not to mention a Vampire's body wouldn't produce the nourishment it would need to survive, and would only feed of the Vampire's life force, making them considerably weaker on a constant basis. Water is a must however, though usually the body is made up of a good portion of water, it may still require the host to bathe often in order to provide the plant within them nourishment.
..........The regeneration properties are extremely potent, and are comparable to an Elder Vampire's ability to instantaneously heal trivial wounds such as; scratches, small cuts, bruises, etcetera. However, mortal wounds or major injuries may take several minutes if not a few hours to fully heal, such as; a deep cut to a vital organ of the body, fractured or broken bones, torn muscles, tendons, or ligaments. Ultimately, the regeneration is very strong, though it is also very painful. The vines and roots of the Seed of Life extend through the entire body, including skeletal system, muscle structures, nervous system, and even through the blood stream itself. Specifically, when the Seed of Life regenerates any torn tissue, it often causes extreme anguish to the person as the vines and roots actually move around within the body in order to bind the damaged area. After the area that was wounded is bound back together, the plant merely regenerates the damaged tissue, replacing it with new healthy tissue.
..........The only wound that cannot be healed by the Seed of Life, is if the wound is cauterized, singed, or burned... which in this case, the wound may take several days to heal, as the Seed of Life itself, is damaged. Some wounds however may be infernal, or celestial, and thus the Seed of Life may not be enough to heal such holy or unholy injuries alone. The Seed of Life also produces a sap, feeding it to the body which acts as Aloe. The sap possesses soothing, moisturizing and healing properties for the skin, and may also relieve digestive issues.
..........The Seed of Life is a plant, and thus turns the host's body into a plant-like organism to some degree. Because of this, the body grows extremely weak to certain heat levels which may leave minor burns upon the body if exposed to such a degree of heat for any prolonged period of time. If the host comes into physical contact with fire, the Seed of Life will try to retreat from the area of the body which was burned. This will not only cause immense physical stress and pain to the host, but may actually cause internal injuries in the process. However, if the Seed of Life is not burned, and the host is not mortally injured through the ordeal, the Seed of Life will eventually heal the host's wounds and injuries within a few days time. Cold weather however will not kill the flora, as the flora draws it's warmth from the host's body, thus it can survive even in the harsh winter climates.
..........The Seed of Life could arguably make the ability pointless to some characters, or could serve as more of a restraint than aid. It is a sentient creature that shares a symbiotic relationship with the host, and thus holds self-preservation above all else. If the Seed of life comes into harms way, and senses it's own existence is in danger, it will react accordingly and use its defense mechanism in order to defend itself. This is involuntary as the host cannot control the seed of life, and the player cannot activate this unless the character's heart is in immediate danger of injury. The self defense mechanism will produce thorns of various sizes from the body in all directions, all secreting poison from their tips. Secondly, along with the thorns, many vines and tendrils will sprout from the host's skin, ripping their way out of the body to latch a hold of whatever enemies may be present nearby, and quickly pulling them into said thorns for a deadly poisoned embrace.
..........Last thing I will go over, is what the seed of life does not do. It does not make the host turn green, nor will the host have poisoned skin. It does not grow leaves from the host's body, or any other sort of plant for that matter. Thus, the Seed of Life, can't produce a rose from your hand whenever you feel the sudden urge to give someone a flower. The Seed of Life does not turn the character into Poison Ivy from Batman. They will appear the same on the outside as they did before. If anything, the sap the plant produces - that acts extremely similar to Aloe - will only darken pale flesh, giving the skin a lovely bronzed complexion. Over time, it may cause the individuals eyes to turn green, or possess a green tint. This is a decision left up to the player. The Seed of Life will not attack anyone - or anything - even if the player wants it to, unless the character's heart is in immediate threat of sustaining mortal injury. This means that being dumped by your ex-lover will not trigger the effect due to a broken heart. Emotions have nothing to do with the Seed of Life. The only time a player may activate the Seed of Life's defense mechanism is if they are stabbed by a random weapon or object, or shot directly in the heart. The seed itself can suffer a few hits, though this ability does not make your character immune to death. It simply increases their ability to sustain damage. It is not an opportunity to become invincible, indestructible, or all-powerful. It is not to be used for Moding, or God-Moding.
