A First Look

[Brayden Alexander]

"Well boys, here it is."

Browns eyes glanced down to both of those sleeping twin one year old boys. Shaking his head slightly, for a moment, before those brown eyes of his glanced to his right arm, which was holding Aiden, before those brown eyes glanced to his left arm, which was holding his other sleeping son Gavin. Those eyes finally left those boys as he shook his head slightly, trying to keep those headphones on his ears, though they were playing anything at the moment.

"Seriously you two how can you sleep so much, I didn't teach you how to do that yet."

His eyes moved back to the sleeping boys and that little boyish grin of his came slowly and slightly across his lips. That normal little boyish grin of his, though his eyes now went down to those oversized black cargo pants of his that he was wearing at the moment, before shifting his arms a bit to keep those boys sleeping soundly, and holding then comfortably in his arms.

"You know you two, you would think I would learn to not wear these huge hoodies when I'm holding you guys..."

Stopping just then as he glanced back to the boys and realized once again they were still sleeping. Shaking his head slightly once more, those eyes began to glance around the room they were standing in at that moment really looking around for the first time, meanwhile beginning to sing quietly to himself.

"We are young, we have heart. born in this world as it all falls apart. We are strong, we don't belong, born in this world as it all falls apart. We will fight or we will fall, til the angels sing our song.."

He was cut off though as he felt Aiden begin to squirm a bit in his arm, his attention shifting to him now.

"Shhh it's okay Aiden, go back to sleep, go back to sleep."

He began to rock back and forth slightly now, as he tried to coax Aiden back to sleep, as he began looking around once more in this new place.

Venis was headed down stairs and over to the bar when she saw a man walking in with two babies in his arms. One of them was starting to stir. "It looks as though you ... have your ... hands ... full. Do I know you sir?" There was something familiar about this man. "Here, let me give you a hand." She reached out to take one of the babies from him if he would let her. "Are you checking in?" She could check him in unless an employee of the Inn came out of the woodwork to do so first.

It took a moment for it to register with him that someone had been talking to him, brown eyes turned from Aiden to the woman who had spoke to him, a quick glanced around as he continued to rock back and forth slightly for a few moments before a slight nod, as he turned his body a bit to allow her to take Gavin since he was asleep, besides his arms were about to fall off as well.

"Yea, these two, they can be a handfull but...

He glanced down to Aiden as he went to work on getting him back to sleep.

"They are my life, and my reason for living, so it's more then worth it."

That free arm now moving up moving one side of the headphones away from his ear now.

"I don't believe we have met before, I'm Kyle, Kyle Sanderson, and yea, checking in, though I have no clue how to do that or where I'm even going. If that makes any sense..."

He cut himself off when he said that, once again speaking before thinking, but that was normal for him.

Venis took the offered child and cradled him in her arms. It had been so long since she had held a baby, but it was all coming back to her instantly. Once the baby was secured she smiled at him. "I'm a mother, I completely understand. It's a pleasure to meet you Kyle ... wait, did you say Kyle Sanderson?" It took a moment for that to register, was it possible?

She looked down at the baby boy in her arms and then back over at Kyle. At six foot two she didn't look up to many, and she was even wearing six inch heels. Her voice caught in her throat for a moment. "Are you, by chance, an relation to Alexander Sanderson?" It was a long shot, what were the chances? She was suddenly filled with hope. How could she not be?

[Inion]

Inion happened to be walking in from shopping and noticed the man standing at the counter. Was it him, could it be, oh yes that voice. she snuck up to him, stood on her tip toes and whispered in his ear, softly not to be loud but not too softly as not to be heard by others. "How is my favorite room mate." she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and stepped back so he could turn. She nodded to Lady Venis and smiled.

"oh Kyle the boys are getting so big and cute, they look nothing like you." she grinned and waited for a hug.

Well he was getting ready to answer Venis, when he felt that whisper in his ear, and it about made him jump out of his shoes as he wasn't expecting it, eyes glancing back to next to him, seeing Inion there and he smiled.

"Hey you, your favorite room mate is doing as good as he can do, and what do you mean they don't look nothing like me? They got all their good looks from me!"

A small quiet chuckle left him at that moment as he reached his free arm around her, giving her that hug that she was waiting on. Finally he turned his attention to Venis once more, his eyes going to Aiden as he had remained awake now. So back to that light rocking he went to, at least Aiden hadn't begun crying!

"Ummm yea, I said Kyle Sanderson..."

He glanced around for a moment, in his own mind trying to figure out how she knew Alex.

"Am I of any relation...Alex is my older brother, well not by blood he took me in years ago, we concider ourselves brothers and all and yea...how do you...ummm know him?"

A bit of confusion on his face now, but that wasn't too hard to do to him, confuse him, poor kid spent most of his days confused.

[Armandeus]

"Ae anírach..." Armandeus' unmistakable voice floated through the door leading out to the gardens, followed a moment after by the man himself. At first glance the elf looked to be a walking dirt storm. His gray tunic and brown leggings were covered in freshly turned dirt, and his green hair had even begun sprouting leaves.

Shaking his head, he pulled the door shut behind him and began trying to brush some of the dirt off his clothing as he walked. It was in this way he emerged to see the group standing around the desk. Chuckling a bit nervously, his hands dropped to his sides as he moved closer. "Mára aurë, can I help you with anything?"

Once again he wasn't expecting to hear another voice and when he did, his head turned, the wrong way of course as he was looking around to where it was coming from. His attention had been on Venis, that he had completely forgot that there could have been other people around. Finally his eyes found the person who had spoke, and he chuckled a bit

"How did you get...oh nevermind, I'm doing alright, already being helped."

His head tilted a bit to Venis and Inion.

"Thank you though, it's appriciated."

[Inion]

Inion hugged him back, and let him focus his attention back to Venis's question. She waited and noticed Aiden fussing abit and she held out her arms and did that 'gimme gimme' motion"may I hold him, I know a trick to quiet him, it should work on him, it worked on you."

His attention turned back to Inion when he caught her motion and heard what she said, turning his body enough so that she could take Aiden. Turning his head to look at Venis once more, he got what was more of a evil smirk on his face, before he turned his head back to Inion.

"You may have a trick to quiet him, but it wasn't what I wanted you to do to quiet me, if I do recall correctly."

A small laugh left him, seeing as he knew exactly what he was talking about.

[Inion]

She took Aiden in her arms and leaned down to kiss him on the forehead all the time rocking gently. Her right hand reached up and rubbed gentle circles on his temple. She looked up at Kyle and grinned, "Shhhhh, don't be given away my dirty little secret. What will people think." She gave him a wiink, then glanced down at Aiden, who now was falling back asleep.

A quiet chuckle left him and he returned that wink, as he began to now get the feeling back in his now other free arm.

"Yea, not like it wouldn't be the first time people thought there was something going on between us."

Another small laugh leaving him, as he did a typicall Kyle thing now and in the middle of everyone just took a seat right there on the floor

"Besides, I don't know any of your dirty little secrets!"

Another quiet laugh left him now.

[Armandeus]

Armandeus wasn't really surprised that the man standing there seemed shocked when he looked at him. A dirt covered Elf, especially one who disliked dirt like him, had to be a rare sight indeed. It seemed his services weren't needed at the moment, however, and he gave a nod to the man. "My name is Ar if you do happen to need anything. I am the cook here."

To Venis, and the woman he had not met, he smiled and bowed his head as well. "Have a good day." Then he would make his way to the stairs, unless someone tried to stop him.

[Inion]

She just shook her head and giggled. "Oh Kyle you haven't changed much, and I am glad, cause I wouldn't want ya any other way." She on the other hand seemed different, more fairy then before. Today she had on dress jeans, a light blue blouse covered by a biege hip length blazer, heeled boats. hair straightened and pulled away from her face by a blue headband. The points of her ears showed more and her eyes had that big soft doe eyeed look to them, and her wings fluttered behind her. She didnt cover up what she was as much as she did when he knew her at the allaince

"Yea and you haven't changed much either, still looking as nice as always."

That boyish smile forming on his face now to her as he reached up and patted her side for a moment before his attention went to Ar and he offered that same smile to him.

"A pleasure to meet you Ar, I'm Kyle, I'm not that good of a cook, most people wouldn't let me near a stove or oven, but if you ever need any help by all means let me know."

A nod of his head to him now as he turned his head back to Inion.

"Still looking better then me, then again, compaired to these two boys, they blow me out of the water."

Venis was in shock, she had hoped, but she figured it was a no. Hence everyone else getting the chance to chat for a moment. Once everyone was through, she turned to see Ar headed up stairs. "Nice seeing you again Ar." Then she returned her attention to Inion and Kyle as she carried the baby with her behind the desk. "Um, Kyle ... Alex is my ..." She looked over at him sitting on the floor and smiled. Though her smile might have given away how her heart felt. "Alex is my son." Not by birth if course, but in the Jordianthan family they didn't use words like Adopted and Step unless needed.

She had the baby's head resting in her right elbow, so she carefully adusted him so that she had her left hand free. She was ambadexterous so she could have used either hand. She flipped through the book and smiled. "Third floor, not too far from me. That would put you close enough if you need any help, but far enough away that you won't feel cramped in." She chuckled. She wasn't going to dive into what that would mean for them as far as being related. Adopted, by the adopted sounded so complicated. That would be why they didn't use those terms in her family.

She pulled out the sheet of paper that she had seen offered to others on other occasions. And this wasn't her first time behind the desk. She grabbed up a pen with that paper and walked over to Kyle. She handed him the pen and the paper then she turned around and knelt down for him to use her back to sign. Then she would put his name in the book and get his key for him. "When you're ready, I can show you up to your room. Will you be joining us Inion?" It made sense to ask as Inion seemed to know him and was holding the other twin.

[Inion]

Inion nodded to Venis, "yes I was heading up to my room on the third floor." she looked at Kyle, "you will be close to both of us ladies should you need help. Of course I might just keep this one." She brushed lil Aiden's cheek and grinned at Kyle.

Crap, that meant that he had to get up, and well, he was quite comfortable sitting there on the floor he really really was! And as usual, it took a few moments for it to register what Venis had said, though he found himself remaining more by Inion, more so due to the fact he knew her and was comfortable around her.

"Alex has a mother? He never said anything about having one, then again he also doesn't talk to me much about anything, he's just he's a shell of what he used to be when he took me in really. It took forever to even convince him to come here with me."

Finally he stood up slowly, eyes going to Inion now and he shook his head and chuckled quietly.

"You decide you gonna keep Aiden, your gonna be moving in with me and your gonna have to keep Gavin too."

Hey it was the truth now wasn't it! Stretching himself out some now, he looked to the two of them.

"What floor am I on again?"

Yep it had gone in one ear, not computed in his head and went out the other, that was Kyle for you.

She was nodding as he spoke. Just walking and listening as she payed attention to the baby in her arms. But then he said Alex was coming here ... To stay with him? She stopped dead in her tracks. She hoped they would see her and not bump into her. She remembered the last time she saw her son, leaving a beach where she had found him.

She took a moment before she could speak. As she did so, she started walking again. "He's coming here, how wonderful. And you are on the third floor." She headed up the stairs, not a trace of bounce to her step to wake the sleeping baby in her arms. When she had last seen Alex, his father had taken over his mind and was telling him to kill her. Kyle has said he was a shell of his former self, was his father still in control, or was that just what was left of him once his father was gone?

[Brayden Alexander]

He hadn't really moved much, he was still standing there by Inion and Aiden, he glanced over to her for a moment before looking back to Venis.

"Third floor, alright gotcha."

Another glance to Inion, as he already seemed kinda surprised at her reaction when he told her Alex was coming. Which brought a slight shrug of his shoulders.

"Yea he should be soon, I think, just ummm yea, don't worry if you hear him talking about voices he hears.."

He shook his head slightly as he glanced to the ground

"Honestly I really believe he is a lost, tormented soul or something like that, but that is just my opinion, I could be wrong, I probably am wrong, just..good luck getting him to talk."

[Kyle Sanderson]

Speak of the devil, just as everything was being said those outside doors opened up now, just enough to allow that person to enter. Quietly Alex entered into that room, stopping just inside the door his face was glued to the ground under him, his head not moving at all, shoulder length brown hair was concealed by the hood from his black hoodie he wore, the same one he always wore, to the point that it just looked worn out. His head finally tilted just enough for him to see Kyle and only Kyle. Before his head shifted back to allow those eyes to look at nothing but the ground, nothing more, nothing less. Head finally tilted upwards to look at everyone that was there. Through those pure white what people wold call dead eyes of his. The dark circles around his eyes showed the lack of sleep he always got. He glanced around now for a slight moment, before there was a slight twitch from his neck up, one that only certain people knew what that really was, and what was going on in his head to cause that. Anyways, he continued to look not at anyone now, but right past them, as though they weren't even there, just off into space, his head tilting to the side now almost coming to rest on his shoulder, just above it. No words left him, to explain what he was looking at now, only he knew, and only he saw.

Venis came to a stop yet again at the sound of those doors. She was two steps up when she looked over and a smile crossed her lips. She would recognize him anywhere. Hoodie or not. She watched him for a moment. She saw his face, his eyes. There was no hint of his father still being within his head, but there was a mess in there. That bastard had messed up her son so badly.

When he started to stare past them she spoke. One word, a soft whisper, but not just with her mouth. "Alex." ~Alex.~ She closed her eyes tightly. Something in his head had some bite. But she had endured worse. She opened her eyes again slowly. She took a deep breath before she spoke again. She would be prepared this time. ~Alex, it's Mom. Look at me baby.~ Oh this was going to take some work.

[Kyle Sanderson]

The reaction she would see out of him....nothing. He stood there, his head tilted to the side, resting upon his shoulder, those white dead eyes of his, never blinked, never wavered just continued to burn a hole through basically space. At least thats what it looked like to them, Alex himself, he was looking dead square at someone, someone that only he was able to see, someone who was there to just him. Though after a few more moments of this, his head moved slightly, his legs beginning to move now, as they took him to that spot he had been staring a hole through. Stopping there, his arm moved, his hand raising up as though he was touching something for a moment before it dropped to his side and he stood there, that slight twitch coming from him again, as he remained quiet, as if he was completely unaware where he was at, who was around. Which in his mind..to him was the truth.

Stubborn, pig headed, those were just a couple of words that one could use to describe Venis. And in this instance, they would be right. She closed her eyes once more and entered into the vampire's head. She knew the way, she had been there before. And she was bound and determined to get her son to look at her. She would settle for that much at the moment.

A fire lit up inside his mind. It was Venis' hand. She wanted to try and see through the darkness. Her voice was soft and melodic, almost as if she was singing to him. ~Alex ... Alexander. Listen baby, it's your mother. Look my way. I know where to find your brother Dre.~ She was looking around. Whatever was in there was avoiding her, that was for damned sure. But why was that? She spoke again. ~Alex ...~ And this time, she put an audible voice to her call to him as well. "Alex."

[Brayden Alexander]

"Told ya, he doesn't talk, I can't get him to talk to me for the most part let alone, anyone else being able to talk to them."

There was a shrug of his shoulders now, not anything really to be rude, but more because he had seen this story played out time and time again, he had seen the people come and try to talk to Alex, he had seen them try to get close, to him and they seen what has happened, the same thing all the time. But he also had seen first hand what Alex could do as well. Anyways he glanced back to Inion and offered her a smile to her before making his way to where Alex was stopping next to him, he reached out and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Alex, follow me up to our place, you can go sit in your new room all you want."

That said he moved and made his way back to where Inion was at, leaning a bit, slightly against her as he looked to the sleeping Aiden.

"Yea they get their sleeping habits from me."

Eyes went to Venis now for a moment.

"He'll follow us now.."
