Re: Beastily roamings
He did move on. Stopping at certain herbs and such he knew. Using the eat to cauterize wounds. Relaxing here and there and eating anything he came across.
He thought more about that Wise One and shook his head. had he gone about it all wrong? He did not know. He left it in the hands of the Fates as a strange scent hit his nostrils.
It was like a rabbit, but not like a rabbit. He got up and began to stalk this new prey. He went deeper into the forest and stopped as it. A human size white rabbit wearing a bright vest was hopping along. Was it carrying a basket of eggs? Why was it hiding the eggs? What the vith was going on?
He did not care. It looked yummy and with those eggs, well he could have meat and eggs. He watched and saw that the rabbit thing was heading towards New Have. That would not do. He was hungry after all.
Checking the wind with his forked tongue, he moved one. Silently. Skillfully. When the rabbit knew it was being hunted, it bolted. Yes! The chase was on and he gave way to it.
He chased that rabbit further into the forest, away from New Haven. Away from places that people would find it. Until the time was right, then he struck. He rejoiced as talons were driven into the rabbits stomach. He relished the hot blood that splatted his black scales.
If anyone did stumble across this part of the forest, they would find a huge scuffle had taken place. It would be impossible to tell what it was that had been fighting. But there on the ground, would be a piece of brightly colored vest stained red and broken egg shells.
He had headed back to where he had seen the Wise One. Why? He did not know. But he had some cooking to do.

What he saw. Would it still be the Wise One? She was a creature of infinite shape. Infinite instinct. Ever shifting forms. Ever shifting desires. When it came to material shape and feature. To her one did not mean more than any other. For herself. Or for other things. And when all in the world was different. With every tick of the clock. What was merely minutes ago. Was now ancient history. Moment to moment. A new ball game born. Now was a new ball game. Should he come back to her. He was at bat.
One thing stood true. She was still there. Where he left her. Up in the same tree. Just as she said she would be. But the relationship to that tree. It had drastically changed. From its elder trunk. There was born a new branch. Her. Jutting out like all the rest. As if she was a Dryad. This tree's protector. No longer feet. Her calves came to an end where the tree trunk began. Legs pressed together so close they were nearly one. The shape of her still with feminine curves. But her skin now brown. Coarse like the tree's bark. Her hair now a hundred small branches. Each sprouting leaves. Her fingers the same, ten small branches that grew buds. Spring was here. And she was part of it.
Perhaps this was her manner of meditation? Or perhaps this was her manner of amusement. Regardless. Come the next breeze. That tickled against her branches. The scent came to her. Of blood shed fresh. And the God of this Land. Now known to her. His was not a scent she would soon forget. There was a crackle of wood. Her head turning. Away from the sky. In the direction of the approach. Was he very near. From her perch. Could she see him?
Even if she could not. She spoke through her own leaves now. Her energy stirring the small canopy that was her hair. Her voice carried on the wind. Tone winsome. Playful. Like a fairy rhyme. As she said,
The scent of blood once again,
As one draws nearer to this glen.
Bastard Beast, seek you me,
Still housed within this canopy?
So it was. The nature of Chaos changed. With every passing moment.

Re: Beastily roamings
He headed back and was humming along with the rhyme in his head. He looked around and wiped some fur from his snout. He still had some of a brightly colored vest stuck on a couple of teeth.
In a canopy one is housed,
staring at me
like a hawk does a mouse.
What is it to be,
when one sees,
of the big old louse?
He walks and talks,
unless he is off to stalk
where ever the prey maybe.
It is quite a sight to see.
Oh it is funny,
unless you are the bunny,
to see the feast
of the bastard Beast.
He continued on walking and humming. Munching on a rabbits leg.

His answer. She would take as a no. In regard to her own question posed in verse. For nothing he said. Confirmed that he come back specifically for her. And as his rhyme said. He walks and talks. And that was what he was doing now. Soon he would be pass her. Shortly after that he would be out of sight. Unless she stopped him in some way. Could she stop him? Yes. Would she stop him? Should she stop him?
What did the All Powers say. What did time say. What did fate. And opportunity. These were the things she always considered. When determining if the moment was now. Or not. These where the things in her mind. As green thicket gaze peered at him. From this healthy canopy. From this tree. Of which she was currently a part. Watching him. Walk. Talk. Chew his prey. What manner of creature. Most unlike her realm.
But still. Though he was unique. The auguries spake no. This was not the time. This was not the opportunity. In the future. Perhaps. With each passing moment all was born anew. Including her. Chaos was never old. Chaos was never the same. As now. No longer part of the tree. With creaks and cracks. Her body pulling three. Rising up into the air. Where it became but a cloud. Tendrils of bright white. In the shape of a woman. Dancing up into the air. The dance of spring. Danced by a cloud. A very different dance than his. Perhaps that's why she chose it.
As she departed. Lifting into the air. Her voice moving through the leaves. Rivaling the wind. With one more rhyme
Your choice to walk for blood and gore,
My choice to walk with desire to explore.
This new realm so new to me,
Time to spot what treasures there are to see.
When will it be spoken in a rise of the East,
That again I will cross the Bastard Beast?
Only the All Powers would know. Until then. These two gods would be left to their own devices.
