Leaving for a while

A gentle knock could be heard on Kyra's door as Arcadia waited outside. She did hope she wasn't going to have to hunt her down or anything.


Kyra heard the knock on the door and answered it. She was surprised to see her mom on the other side but got a great big smile on her face and gave her a big hug. "What are you doing here?" She looked at her curiously.

Arcadia returned the hug from her daughter and looked at her like only a mother could look at her daughter. -Well I have a request and I hope you will take me up on it. I came to check on you first of all and I can tell there is a lot of anger inside of you about many things. I want you to come back to Castle Darkmane with me tonight so we can talk and you can learn how to control that anger before it gets you into trouble.- She gave her that I already know look.

Kyra sighed at her mother but nodded. Maybe it will do her some good to get away. She would have to leave a note for Maddie letting her know and she would have to tell her dad. But those both would be easy enough to do. Maybe Maddie could come visit her sometimes. She walked back into the room and left the door open while she packed her things. She didn't have much she left her Christmas presents that she got at the castle in her room there but nothing new was added to her belongings. She looked back at her mother with the few things she did have with a slightly sad expression on her face. "I'm ready to go." Kyra did leave a note of her own for Isah letting him know that she left for the Castle and thanked him for being such a good friend to her and showing her the unicorns and her waterfall.

Notes were left for Dre and Maddie at the front desk from Arcadia simply letting them know where they could find Kyra. In Dre's it would explain a lot more and she was sure he would understand and not be too mad about this decision. After all it is not as if he would never see Kyra again. One thing that can be said for Arcadia she would never let her child not see her father. After the notes were left the ladies went out front to the carriage that would be waiting for them and load everything up and be off before some would even realize she was gone.

[Madeline Cauthon]

Maddie saw Kyra and Arcadia leaving. She ran to find out where they were going. But she was too late. She went back to the desk and saw the note Kyra left. She read it. She would miss her friend deeply. Maddie ran out the front door and waved as the carriage moved out of sight. She sent Kyra a mental link.

~I'll miss you Kyra, please be safe.~

He was...well he was being himself really. But he saw the carriage and thought he glanced Arcadia. He wondered what was wrong, but by the time he got to the inn the carriage was gone.

Okay this did not bode well. He stepped inside and saw a note addressed to him. He read it and was sort of shock. He nodded though, understanding and sent a link to both of them.

~You two be safe and I will see you soon. Please send word that you arrive safe. Please. That is an order from the Lord of the House and your father Kyra~ snickering would be heard.

[Madeline Cauthon]

Maddie walked back in and saw Dre reading his note. She put walked over and gave him a hug. "She'll be ok right?"

[Beastie]

He hugged Maddie back. "Aye, she will be hun. No worries about that. Besides will have the house for her to come visit us at. If you still want to move that is. "

He said this but at the same time wondered what he did to drive away his daughter.

[Madeline Cauthon]

"Yes I do, In fact Gawain..I mean Daddy said I had to with everything thats happened lately. Maybe it's a good thing Kyra went with Arcadia, for her own safety."

[Beastie]

He nods. "Maybe you are right, but then maybe I did something. We shall see." He was still thinking and wondering what all had happened to drive his daughter away. maybe he was a bad parent after all and he sort of felt like a failure.

[Arcadia]

Without her daughter realizing it she had heard what Dre had said and sighed a little because she was sure she knew what was going through his mind. She sent a message back to him.

~We will let you know when we arrive at the castle and I assure you that Kyra will be back so be sure to save her room at this house she is telling me about. She just needs time to deal with everything. And no dear you did not do anything wrong in fact she has been telling me wonderful things about you. If I didn't know any better I would think she was playing match maker. But for now let me concentrate on getting her feeling better and not so angry all the time. I'm sure you can feel that anger as well and I must add you better come visit all of us. I can't teach her everything she will need to know.~

A slight chuckle could be heard about the match maker comment but she sat back and listened to her daughter but was also looking out the window to make sure they stayed safe on their trip.

[Beastie]

He received the mental link and nodded. Maybe he was not fouling things up after all. He looked at Maddie and tried to smile. "We will just have to make sure her room stays in order and is the best ever right?"

[Madeline Cauthon]

"No prob, hell we'll keep each other company. OK I have some things to do. I'll see you back at the forge? "She gave Dre a friendly innocent grin.

[Beastie]

He nodded. "Okay young lady. Just behave and if you go near a bottle of alcohol I will spank your arse until you are unable to lay down in your grave. Understand me?"

Yeah that fatherly instinct was still in him but he looked at her. He looked at her and waited.

Kyra had heard Maddie's message to her and she didn't reply right away for fear her emotions would betray her. She waited a little bit and returned the message.

'I'll miss you too and I will be safe. Promise me that you will be safe as well and I'll be come back. I can't leave you to run the forge alone can I?'

Humor could be heard in that last part. She sat back and watched out the window quietly and thinking about things and people.

Rose had been standing to the side having come out of her room and she was going to say something to Dre but she noticed how sad he looked. Once he was alone she would move over to him and stand next to him staying silent for a moment. Concern was written on her face at that point as she looked up at him. Gently placing a hand on his arm she spoke softly.

*Is there anything I can do to help ease your sadness?*

It was a question asked by a concerned friend nothing more. She cared for Dre as a friend and she hoped some day it could turn into something more but she was not rushing into anything. She knew from her past experiences that rushing into something would prove to be a bad thing for all of them.

[Beastie]

He looked up at rose and gave a weak smile. "I shall be fine."

He decided she needed to now more then that. "Kyra left today. She went home with her mother." He sighed and that sighed said volumes.

"I think I...bah I do not know what to think."

He did know he had one thing to do. So he opened his mind and sent out a mental link ~Mother. There is a note for Isah at the front desk. Please see he gets it.~

He looked at rose and sighed once more, then hugged her.

Rose stood there and listened for a brief moment she closed her eyes and signed after he did. She didn't want to see him upset and she started to say something when he hugged her. Returning the hug she whispered to him.

*It will be ok. I am sure it was not you.*

She had no way of knowing for sure but she was trying to make him feel better.

[Beastie]

"Maybe it was. I do not know. But she is with her mother now, so that is a good thing. If anyone can smack...I mean talk some sense into her, it will be her mother."

He just stood there and held her, then said. "I need a drink. Gonna join me?"

[Guest]

Rose tried to stifle a laugh as she looked up at him still hugging him. She let him hold her figuring he needed it. A smile still on her lips she spoke softly.

*A drink sounds like a good idea right now.*

She let go of him so that they could go to the bar.

[Beastie]

"Aye a drink. Maybe some of father's stuff. It will deweed any garden that is for sure."

He lagged behind just a bit and whistled. He needed something to cheer him up as he contemplated things.

Venis received a mental link from her son and smiled. But her smile faded before he even finished speaking. He mentioned a note for Isah. She could take care of that. But something bothered her. His tone. ~I will let him know son. Is everything ok? You seem upset. I can come down there if you need me baby.~ It was, of course, a rhetorical question. Her stomach and his tone, combined with a mothers instincts, all proved to give away the fact that her son was sad.

Isah had been on his way to check on Tasha when he had stopped to peek in on Venis and say hi. She had told him that there was a note for him down at the desk. He was curious as to who would leave him a note. But Venis had no further information about it.

So rather than go check on Tasha, which he could do later, he headed down to the desk to get his note. He saw it laying on the desk with his name on it, so he reached over and picked it up to read it. But he saw who it was from and decided to take it to his room to read it.

So he ran back up the stairs and back to the room. The other men were still going to be out for about another half an hour or so. Someone would be in after that. So he stood there and read the note behind closed doors. And what he read upset him quite a bit. She had left, gone back to the Castle with her mother. He never even got to give her the gifts she got for Christmas. He closed the note in a fist and punched the wall.

He paced back and fourth for a bit wondering what he had done wrong. Should he have not kissed her at the waterfall? Maybe he was pushing it when he placed his hand on her stomach when they rode Rapture. Either way, she was his friend and now she was gone. He noticed his hand, his knuckles were bleeding.

That made him head back towards Tasha's room. He needed his knuckles checked for breaks and then his hand bandaged and he couldn't do it with one hand. So he hung his head as he knocked upon her door with the good hand. And as he waited, he wondered if he should go after her ... Go to Darkmane Castle.
