To Tame a Beastie

[Beastie]

(WARNING: Cursing and violence. But might be a fun read)

He was pissed. There was no other way to put it. He was pissed, so pissed that heat waves were emitting off him. He had stormed out of the Battle Gym. His clawed feet scratching at the wood and he thought he heard a few boards crack. It did not matter, by the time he was outside his feet were leaving scorch marks on the stones outside.

He headed off to new haven, knowing there was a tavern there and that would mean a fight. He smiled in a way that would have had many folks running away scared. It was a pure sadistic and evil smile. Not like the smile that many who knew him would have known. As he approached, he laughed as people got out of his way.

He grabbed one of the local constables and asked him where the roughest tavern was. When he got his answer, he threw the man into a wall and chuckled as he slumped down. He headed for this tavern already making plans. He ripped the door of the hinges and looked at the barkeep.

"Make the door vithing bigger next time, you son of a whore. Now tankards of ale and do not stop until I say otherwise." He flashed that grin again and scoffed the man as he took off running to get the tankards.

Taking a moment he looked around, he had found the right spot. He was already getting the evil eye. He would just have to goad them more. To a group of dwarves he roared, "What are you vithing looking at you sons of gobos. Not my fault your mothers slept with elves but found they like greenskins better. Of course that is after they found out they could not hold their ale and had to settle for wine. So vith off stunties."

He laughed at them as he saw how red he was getting, other men in the tavern had eyes wide as he mouthed off to the dwarves. The mood was set, now to kick off the powder keg. he took some of the tankards the barkeep had brought and tilted his head back. He opened his maw and just poured the ale town his throat. Not even bothering to swallow.

he looked at the dwarves and belched. Then told the barkeep, "Since thier mother's could not hold ale. Make sure they only get water. You know that passes down. Makes them less then the other vithing ellg'ccaresses that are in this pig sty."

With that he threw the two tankards over his shoulder hitting men. That was ll it took and soon he was in the fight he wanted. His laughter would be heard all the way back at the inn.

[Vesta Voui]

Vesta had been in town, heading to the job she worked on days like this, rocking the sounds of a recently acquired mp3 player she won off a poor smuck (the person had some interesting taste) when she saw some type of commotion happening down at the tavern she worked at.

Come on, like she would work in decent and respectable place where people were polite and things were easy? Yeah right.

It was a bar fight alright, the type where you saw bits of furniture or bodies flying through the windows and doors. This area was use to fights, but the patrol people always came in at some point to make sure everyone wasn't dead. Who was starting trouble on her shift? Probably one of those street gangs - couldn't be one person. Though she had seen some crazy stuff.

Vesta stepped over the debris on the ground and made her way to the door, dodging quick as something else came flying past. She saw the creator of the havoc and stared for a moment. It was the guy from the keep - the big one who you didn't want to mess with and end up on his wrong side. Maybe he had too much to drink.

Were the people attacking him, or was he attacking them? Both maybe. She couldn't tell one from the other.

Vesta took cover as she entered and raised her voice so he'd hear her. "Dreconis! What the hell? Get outta there!"

[Sheena D]

-Sheena was on her way to the inn that Katyana had told her about. Katyana had told her that her son was there and she had some very important business to discuss with him about his father. She stopped at a tavern along the way for some food and drink since she did not know how long it was going to take her to get to the inn. She did not even get the chance to open a door since there was not one to open. She stepped inside and saw her son in the middle of a brawl and simply shook her head. He had every bit of his father's temper and she wondered what set him off this time. She stood there shaking her head hoping she would be able to catch his attention without speaking. It had been some time since they saw each other. Not sure if it was working she spoke in a loud voice that she was sure he would recognize.-

Dreconis Dragonis-Darkmane.....what in heavens name do you think you are doing?

-She stood there waiting for his response.-

Now did she really expect him to just leave. He was having fun. In fact he threw a couple of dwarves towards her yelling "Dwarf Tossing!!!" he saw a group of men rushing him, so instead of going and tossing the Dwarf he bowled the dwarf. Yes he was Dwarf Bowling. He did it so hard the men all toppled over and he yelled "STRIKE!!"


He was laughing and carrying on, that was until he heard a voice say his entire name and ask what he was doing. It could not be, but there she was. He flashed a grin, as he continued to fight. "Hiya" Punch "Mom" Kick.

"When," Bite and cries of pain,"you get," Tail Slap and a head butt,"here?"

he continued on like this for awhile, even introducing Vesta to his mother as he fought on with that innocent boyhood smile of his. When he was the last being standing, he walked over to her and gave her a huge sweaty and bloody hug. Then patted Vesta on the back, maybe a little hard as his talons got stuck in the fabric and ripped it. He looked around and saw some trying to run.

"Be right back mom," he said as he dived right back in. His loincloth flying up to give everyone a good view. Some might swear they heard laughing and a WhooHooo heard all around New Haven.

[Sheena]

Just as quickly as her son hugged her he was back to the dance. She knew he had a temper and was angry about things but she never realized just how angry he was. Sheena knew her leaving did not help matters but she had leads she needed to track down with an old friend. It was something that would make a big difference to both of them and to other people. She stood there watching him with a mix of pride and dissappointment in her eyes. No longer being able to watch she turned around and walked outside. There she looked down at her clothing and just simply closed her eyes not wanting to think about it at the moment.

[Beastie]

Soon he was done. There was not a person, besides him, left standing. Nothing was left unbroken, one guy looked funny with his head through a wall. He stood there and dusted himself off. he inspected the various cuts and such he had gotten, he even had a tooth knocked loose.

He would have to see about getting that fixed soon. He was grinning. How could he not, that was so much fun. He walked past Vesta and stopped, digging something out he dropped it in her hand. It was a small jewel.

"Either to pay for everything, or you to keep as lost wages. Your call. And you really should start wearing that necklace I made." He winked at her and went off to his Sheena.

"When did you get here? Where have you been? Where are you staying?" Yep he was inquisitive.

[Sheena]

-Yes he was inquisitive. So many questions and so many answers. Before she would even think about answering any of his questions she just stood there and looked at him and began to speak softly.-

I am sorry for everything...shutting down after your dad passed and even dissappearing. I hope some day you can forgive me for all of it. But I do need to know something son, what has you so angry?

[Beastie]

Well talk about coming out of left field. he stood there shocked for a moment then nodded. "I do forgive you. how could I not when I did the same as you."

He flashed her a smile that faded when asked what had him so angry. So he told it all to her. Right then and there. Everything he had been through and down, about her grandchildren, the marriages, the jobs, the friends he made. All of that. he held nothing back, then he told her of his time her at the inn, helping to save Venis and such, and the incident in the Gym being the last part. So he even told her about the law officer he knocked out and all that. he then stood there waiting to see what she was going to do. Lowering his head for the slap he knew was coming.

[Sheena]

-Sheena listened and shook her head at the events that had taken place in her son's life. Some she was aware of and others she wasn't. Somethings she had her own opinions on but she would not go into them with him or anyone for that matter. She took her son's hand knowing he felt bad already and she wasn't the one to make it worse on him. Her voice laced with dissappointment as she spoke.-

Things always have a way of working themselves out. You can't control or change everything on your own.

-She stopped and looked at him taking a deep breathe before continuing.-

There are somethings I need to talk to you about and some others that I need your help with. But before we get to that I want you to know that I love you and so does your father.

-She stopped there and smiled up at him. She was short, a wood elf after all with now flowing white hair and gentle green eyes.-

[Beastie]

He nodded. How was it she could make everything seem okay and yet so logical. has to be the wood elf, or else putting up with father. He nodded at her and smiled back "I know. I have always known I suppose. Sometimes it is good to hear it. now you are avoiding my questions mother."

[Sheena]

-She tood a deep breathe and started telling him everything.-

I arrived today and am not staying any where at the moment. I was on my way to see you. A friend of yours told me I could find you here. In fact the reason she left here to track me down to tell me where you were.

-She paused a moment before continuing.-

You know that I was very upset when your father died and I couldn't accept it and even tried hard to replace the loss but never found anyone that made me as happy as he made me. So I went off in search....I went to search for his body so we can at least have that peace of mind knowing he is with family. I found what I was looking for with some help from a family friend well a couple of family friends.

-With that she stopped letting all of that sink in.-

[Beastie]

"Well that is easy enough to fix. You will stay at the inn. zephyr i know is there and I know you two got along great."


he stopped with her and listened to her. Had she really done it? Had she really found his body? Could they really say goodbye to hi now? And here with so many of his friends close by as well. Maybe things were changing.

"Where? How?" was all he could say.

[Vesta Voui]

For her part Vesta was listening in on the conversation Dreconis was having with his mother - wait.. that was his mother! Vesta spent a good bit of time looking back and forth between him and the female. How the heck was that possible? She had to remember where she was. It probably wasn't strange to have a rock argue with you about kicking it around, so this was probably normal. She still stared. Normal or not.

Besides, she had a torn shirt and maybe something that was a little fringed, she couldn't really go in there right now. Something good had come out of the destruction - she got a jewel! Sure she had no clue what it was worth, but it looked expensive. She probably was going to need a new place after this.

Vesta didn't want to be too nosy - she had a feeling that what happened in there was only the iceberg tip of the guys temper and she had no intentions on having that temper turned on her. For one thing she wasn't prepared. Necklace. She would have to remember the necklace. Later she would have to ask him if she had to wear it around her neck or if it worked the same hooked on to a belt.

Scooting inside, she started hauling the conscious people to their feet and showing them the door.

[Sheena]

-Sheena took a deep breathe and started to answer his questions.-

It was found in a place I never thought to see him go but we were able to safely retrieve it and bring him home to Castle Darkmane. He is being prepared for a burial. The burial will not be the normal as we know your father would not have wanted normal as he was not.

-She smiled a little at the thought and the conversations she had with Krow...many of them most recently but she won't get into that for now. She looked up to her son hoping this helped ease his pain. She learned alot and knew her husband kept some things from her...probably not wanting to upset her but she would deal with that soon enough.-

[Beastie]

He nodded.

"I am glad you found him, mother. Maybe now we can all say goodbye. I mean there are some of his and your friends her from the Society. I know Kahn and Gawain are here, and yes mother. Venis is here too. So is Krystal and Tasha. I am sure others will show up."

It did help some, and he knew it would help others as well. Maybe things were going to be alright after all.

[Sheena]

-She simply nodded to him not showing much emotion at the list of names he rattled off. A couple were a little of a sore spot for her at the moment but she will deal with that in her time and her way. She smiled to her son and spoke softly.-

Why don't we go and you can show me this inn of yours. I would like to at least see it and see Zeph as well. I have a message for him from a friend.

-She waited for him to lead the way.-

[Beastie]

He nodded. 'I am sure Zeph will love to see you."

He held out his arm for her, and once taken began to lead the way back to the inn. He stopped, "Hey Vesta. you coming too. Got two arms you know."

He smiled and waited for her, and lead both back to the inn. Once there he said simply to his mother. "Let me pay for the room please."

[Sheena]

-She smiled and took his arm and walked to the inn with him. She was not sure who the young woman he called for was but she was sure she would find out soon enough. She did not even argue when he offered to pay for her room as she knew it would upset him more than he already was and she would be the last one to upset him today. She forgot how much he was like his father and how much he had his scent. She had to fight back the tears welling in her eyes at the memories. She continued to smile as they walked along.-

[Beastie]

He dragged Vesta with them.

"No place for you in there. especially since you knew my name. To many questions. Do you really want to get caught up in that? Besides you go int here flashing that jewel and..." Leaves the rest unsaid.

"Vesta meet my mother, Sheena. Sheena, this is Vesta. she stays at the inn to. A real firecracker."

[Vesta Voui]

She was going to fight and protest against something like him carrying her back to the Inn? Or carrying her anywhere? Not likely. He was right about that jewel thing. It wasn't the nicest type of bar and if she started walking around with that thing there well... she might just be the one in a fight.

She might want to change her clothes too since some big guy with talons for hands tore it. Oh, introductions.

"Hey there Sheena. As he said I'm the fire-cracker with the wild multi-colored hair." She smiled and had her hand out to shake hands. "Your son here as a real way with people. "

[Sheena]

-She shook the young woman's hand and had to laugh at her comment.-

Yes he does have a way with people. It is a pleasure to meet you Vesta.

-She stood there next to her son and squeezed his arm gently as she took a deep breath.-

[Vesta Voui]

After she shook his mothers hand she let it go - didn't need her thinking that she was going to fondle her hand or anything - and she brushed her own hands together. "The first time I saw him I thought he wanted to take my head off for talking back to someone. The second time he was making a fire so bad we damn-near thought he was destroying a Castle." Keep, castle, they had to mean the same thing.

"Now I run into him again, but this time he actually did destroy a building." Her voice had laughter in it, like how people sound when they are around friends and they're recounting the good times. "Oh yeah."

Since he had dragged her it probably wouldn't hurt him if she gave him a nudge. "You know Dreconis, that tavern probably won't be operational for a while and I'm gonna need another place to work a couple days out the week. Word has it that you have a smithy running. Hook me up?"

Okay so he had given her the jewel. Still.

[Sheena]

-She looked to the young woman some curiousity as she spoke about her son. Hearing about him destroying things she looked up at her son with a curious motherly look. One of those what were you thinking looks. After hearing about the forge she spoke.-

You finally started your own forge? That is wonderful...I am so proud of you. What else have you been up to son of mine?

[Beastie]

He looked at Vesta and could not help but laugh. "First off, if you are going to tell on me to my mother, best call me Dre. Since that does make us friends. As for the forge, might be able to do something. Why you want to be hung from a hook I do not know but we can do that as well. See whomever is at the front desk and tell them I said to make you an assistant. "

He turned to his mother, "Well Vesta pretty much covered it all. Helped Venis get back to her normal stubborn, stuck up self." He said with a grin, who knew if he was kidding or not.

"What of you mother? what have you been doing?"

[Sheena]

-She grinned and looked up at her son as she began to speak.-

I have been quite busy actually. I have been helping Arcadia find some things that she lost and also trying to find your father. Both of those have taken a great deal of time. But at least we were able to accomplish one of those things. Unfortunately, Arcadia's lost items have not been found.

-She signed at the thoughts of what Arcadia was missing and tried to put it out of her mind for now. She just smiled up at him and squeezed his arm gently.-
