Re: Warming up (Open to anyone who can stomach the music)

The Vampire was about to engage in another form of exercise, that was evident by the request she made to Cas. He did not want to over stay his visit, what a horrible thing it would be if they actually got use to him being there and it started to become an expectation.

That should be saved for later. Would they need help? Surly they wouldn't. If they did they could always ask.

"You two seem busy. I should leave you to your . . . exercises." Step taken to the side, the start of leaving. "I must allow for the Vampire to miss me. Though she says she will not, she will think of me when I leave. In one way or another."

[Beastie]

Quietly he enters, well as quiet as talons on the floor would allow him to be, He had to see if he still had the stomach or the love for Dancing that he did. He stopped when he saw Venis and Cas, there was also the male he had ran into on the stairs, and Sky. Sky had good form, but it was a form he had not seen before. So he stood there and watched a bit.


As he studies, his mind automatically starts coming up with counters and such. but he also knew in a Dance everything changes in an instant. But still he studied, his mind going through scenario after scenario. It was true that a dance was first danced in the mind. After awhile his eyes flashed up.

His head swiveled and shook as he saw Venis out of control. maybe she had lost that inner fire in her. He doubted it, and knew soon fireballs would be everywhere. He watched the male for a moment. From his stance he saw he was confident in his prowess. He was a Dancer to be sure, not use to losing was evident. But he saw from that stance that he was ready to pounce if need be, and that any Dance with him would be a fierce one. One written in many a story and legend.

Shaking his head as it was no concern of his, and in the fact of knowing those two women could and have surprised many a man. He looked for Kjay and saw him. Always ready was that one. He went to a place far from them, emptying his mind of all thought. He allowed his body to remember how to move. To allow his muscles to remember how to move. His body reacting to different things.

Soon he was running through forms that not many had seen or would ever seen again. They came easily, maybe to easy. To any that saw him, he was literally dancing to the music that was playing. Though he heard not a lick of it. Suddenly his hand shot out. his fist flying past the dummy and hitting the wall. A THUD! resounding. The pain, that is what he wanted. he wanted his body to remember that you receive as you give.

Several more time he hit the wall, a crack appearing and widening. Next came his knees, elbows, forearms, tail, feet, shins, and head. He remembered it all, and now there was a jagged hole in the wall with scale scrapings on them. he brushed that animal in him and smiled. He was ready.

now he attacked the dummies. Standing in the middle of them, going through even more grueling forms and exercises. His body twisting in ways that many could not. The reptile in him helping there. He remembered everything as did his body. They were one and it showed. He battered and bruised himself.

At one point he even weaved the threads of Wynd and Fire, making a fiery bolo. His arm lashed out and sent it whizzing past Cas and Venis to hit one of the newly erected targets. Some would swear that they were watching a well choreographed dance. Maybe even ballet. Many saw his jovial or serious side and dismissed him. To many underestimated him. He was showing why he was sought after to do jobs no one else wanted.

As he moved, heat waves began shimmering around him. A sure sign to any that knew him of what was coming. He was in the dance fully and nothing else mattered. He trained with the motto that if you trained as if your life depended on it, then when it actually did you would be ready. He thanked his father for that one.

[Casandra Lightheart]

"Yes Venis I can help with that."

She moved to help her set up the dummies on the slides and checked them to make sure they were not going to catch on the runners.

Nodding to Dre when he came in and began his dance she watched him happy that he had found his center once more. Going back to help V she was lost in thought working at her task till something came flying past her she was instantly ready moved into a low stance ready to tackle someone untill she saw what had almost hit her. Relaxing she went back to work but kept an eye on Dre.

[Sky]

Sky stopped landing on the ground lightly, and watched Dre, ws it merely kitty curiousity or more? He watched each for he went into pretty much looking him over much in te same way. Not only was he going through counters but as he watched he emulated Dre's moves. clumsily and not as well but it was clear he was comitting them to memory. Only amutures and arrogance made a person belive they couldn't learn from someone else. He began to copy him so much that he was only a few moves behind him. over exaggerating everything he did so he could remember. He attempted what he did with fire and wind and ended up just creating a vortex of fire from his hand.

Suddenly the room was filling up, and Benjamin was leaving. Guess the crowd was getting to be too much for him. How would he ever stand coming to watch her spar. And she knew he wanted to, he couldn't hide everything from her. She grinned as he spoke of her missing him. She knew she would not, but let him have his delusions. "Oh Benjamin ..." A fireball rushes past his face with mere inches to spare. "Have a nice day, and try not to miss me so much."

She smiled as she watched him walk away, in fact, lord to watch him leave. The part about hating to see him go she omitted intentionally. She saw her son, she knew he was there before she actually spoke to him. "Hello son." Not wanting to disturb him those were the only words she said to him. She watched Sky and arched an eyebrow. Something told her that Sky was an interesting character to say the least. She returned her attention to helping Cas set up the moving target.

He was not leaving because of the amount of people that were starting to fill up the gym. But he was leaving because his purpose for being there was complete. Why should he stay longer.

What was interesting is the fact that Dre was now in the gym. The large being who was eating a head earlier. This was the second time he had seen him while encountering Venis. If he didn't know better he would think that he was being watched. Either way, it was amusing. He would have addressed the being if he had not be busy going through forms, another going through them as well.

When he heard his name called his pace slowed and his head turned. He saw the ball coming but did not move to avoid it, or flinch. He could feel the heat of it as it went pasted his face. Fortunate for him that his hair was cut close to his head or he might have lost a few strands.

Right. She was not going to miss him the same way he was not going to miss her. He knew she was watching him as he left, he could feel her eyes. Benjamin smiled in spite of himself, put his hands in his pockets, and headed out the gym.

It honestly pleased her that he did not flinch. It meant that he either trusted her not to burn him, or he was careless. She didn't think it was carelessness. But either way, she could use ot to her advantage. She smiled at him before he turned back around and walked away. As the doors closed behind him she turned to Casie and spoke. "Damn, he's hot." She laughed and then returned to her putting together the moving target.

Once they had the target together she turned it on. It began to spin uncontrollably. Venis ducked a flailing arm and chuckled. "Let's see if there is something we can do about this." She got down on the floor and looked underneath for some kind of switch or something. She was looking for something that controlled the speed of the dummy.

Finding the switch was easy, catching the thing to utilize the switch was another story. But she got it. Then she got up off the floor and found the switch to make it go around the track. Turning it onto random she found the dummy was going back and fourth and around the track, spinning along the way. It made for an interesting attack and defense work out.

[Beastie]

He caught movement out of his eye and stopped. There was someone who was copying him, and yet doing it just as well. Copying things that took him years upon years to master. That was enough to set him off. With a soft POP, and a whoosh. his maw opened and he sent a gout of flames heading turns the dummy. Was one of them moving? Who knew and who cared. But He was intent on setting the whole set of dummies aflame. Why? Simple, to watch them burn and suffer.

He growled something about that being enough and headed out of the gym. For those that had seen him like this, there was one thing for sure. He was off to the taverns to start as many fights as he could.

[Sky]

Sky could no logner emulate anything now that he was gone. He found it almost impossible to do what he had jsut thought he learned. He quickly began to get frusterated and began to pummel onto a dummy with his fast blows back in his odd stance again.

"Damn"

The fire was traveling around the room and burning the dummies along it's path. She saw that the fire was headed to where she was standing with Casie. She grabbed Casie and placed herself between Casie and the flames to shield her. She turned her head once the flames had passed to see Dre storming out the door. No, she would not go after him. It would be a waste of her breath. He would not listen to her no matter what she said. "Are you ok Cas?"

So she let him leave. She saw the furry one that had seemed to be immune to her fire. "Do you have any idea what happened to my son? Oh, and not that I was trying to burn you, but why exactly were you not burned?"

She decided that working on the moving target was no longer important. She would send some employees in to clean up the mess like always. She walked over to put her sweats and t-shirt back on. "The names Venis by the way. And again, sorry." She finished redressing and smiled to Cas. "Food fight in a couple of days?" She gathered up her stereo and her flask and looked to The furry one to see what he had to say on the subject.

[Sky]

"He seemed to be mad... when he noticed me trying to mimic his moves. always thought emulation was the highest form of flattery... However Dre does appear to be different."

That was defiantly the most clear Sky had ever managed to speak in front of these two. Perhaps reaching some level of comfort eased him?

"I have casted a ward on my fur to fire. You see fur burns easy and the friction from me running and the situations i manage to get myself in... Well lets just say its a good thing to have so i dont burn up. While my fur is warded however my skin is not. Luckily the thickness of my fur protected my skin. Had your flame been hotter or longer lasting i may have been a little upset."

[Guest]

She nodded, a look of understanding upon her face. "I can understand that. Friction does cause heat, and heat can cause flames. So yea, I get it. As far as emulating him, I'm not sure that's how you want to flatter my son. Perhaps next time, you might want to ask him if he would like to show you some of his moves. He has spent years and years trying to master his moves. He's not always as fluid and flexible as some. He's rather proud of his abilities, and he's also the God of Wind and War, so that gives him a little extra ... stubbornness when others try to copy him."

She made sure she had everything and was waiting for Casie to be ready to go as well. She reached down and scratched Kjay behind his ears. "I'm sure he'll cool off, maybe then you can have a conversation with him." She looked at Casie then.

[Sky]

"Perhaps.... you know everything in this world is emulation from wlaking to a simple punch. Everyone has copied everythng they have ever done... Originality is long dead."

He continued to work over his dummy. Not as intense as he had done before, he could not conversate and train that hard but he could at this pace and still talk if she had more to sawy. Everyone had a way they felt about something. This is the way he felt about that.

"Anyway I don't belive in Gods, or Devils at that."

[Casandra Lightheart]

She was watching Dre and was just about to go after him when V was grabing her she felt the heat from the fire.

"Thanks V."

She breathed a sigh of releaf.

"That really would have hurt."

She smiled at Sky.

"And you remeber me I hope I'm Cas."

She turned back to V.

"Yes a couple days."

[Guest]

She was satisfied with his answers, and Cas was ready to go as well. "Well, everyone has the right to their beliefs. Enjoy your workout." She smiled and headed out the door, holding it open for Cas and Kjay to leave with her. The door closed behind them and they were gone to leave him to his workout.

He continued to train in silence, that was after all the way he preferred to run through his routines. They technically werent routines since he was letting instincts guide his swings and nothing ever seemed to be the same with him.
