Not wanting to disturb

The Princess figured that it was time to finally leave her room again. So many things went wrong every time she did so. She worried that this would again be the case. She dressed in a pink gown and stepped onto some topless shoes. They were called 'down under's'. She had several pairs. They were like popular shoes on Earth called 'flip flops' only without the bands that covered the feet in a v shape and the piece that went between the toes. Instead they had an adhesive on them that stuck to the bottom of the foot. Like 'flip flops' these too came from Earth. She had a friend back home who loved to go to Earth and shop and play.

She opened the door to her room and stepped out into the hallway. There were several different people and beings in the second floor hall. She walked past them nodding to them along the way. She wanted no part of the goings on in the hall, after all, something else would go wrong. Instead she went straight to the stairs. She softly descended the stairs, with her usual walk she looked like she was floating down them.

She surveyed her surroundings as she stepped down onto the floor. She saw many a person at the bar as well, not wanting to disturb them she walked over to the bar itself. She figured it would be safer that way. She spoke to no one, just sat and waited. She wanted juice, but the last time she had ordered juice it had not been fresh. She did not want to make that mistake again. So she figured that maybe the milk would be fresher. She knew that it probably was not milked that morning, but she knew that it would not have been frozen for moths and maybe even years.

She waited quietly, she wondered if she should get something to eat. Perhaps they had some fresh vegetables and she could get a garden salad. She thought that would be best. She would get a salad and some milk and then go back to her room. She didn't think she would be staying much longer. She didn't want to disrupt the lives of those around here any longer.

Madeline saw the lovely princess standing at the bar and made her way to the bar."Hello your Highness, how I may I be of service?"

Dalia smiled her best smile, even though she had no desire to do so this day. "Hello miss Madeline, perhaps I could get a fresh garden salad and a large glass of cold milk?" She really was not in the mood for small talk as she continued to ponder staying or leaving.

Madeline nodded at the Princess, and went to the kithen and made her a fresh garden salad and a large glass of milk. She put them on a trey and brought them back out. She set the tray on the bar. "Is there anything else I can get you Princess?"

Dalia smiled the first smile she had worn in a while. "Thank you miss Madeline. Perhaps, have you seen Zeph around?"

"No Ma'am, I haven't, but if I do would you like for me to tell him you are looking for him?"

He stretched, having an interesting few days. He got up,bathed, and put on a fresh pair of breeches and tunic. As he put on his boots he realized he so needed to get new clothing and footwear. He looked at his companions, those being his weapons. He was lucky to have been blessed with two warrior spirits. he thanked him in the way he knew how. To any outside his room, it would sound as if he was singing. His voice like that of distant thunder.

After he was done, he stood and began the descent downstairs. Hungry as a hibernating bear waking up in the spring. His footsteps were soft as freshly falling snow as he came down. He stood at the foot of the stairs wondering which way to go. He thought he heard voices coming from the bar. So that is the way he went, mainly to see if he was going mad.

Madeline saw Zeph coming to the bar. She greeted him with a warm smile. Good day Zeph. The princess and I were just talking about you. May I get you anything to eat or drink?"

He smiled as he saw the ladies. So he he was not losing his mind, that was a relief. he waved to them both, that grin still on his face.

"It du be gud tu be knowin that I ded be finding the rite spot. It du be gud tu be followin my gut. E'en iffen it du be thinkin my gut du be thinkin my throat du be slit."

Smiling still he gave a wink. "What du ye be recommended?"

What ever you wish Zeph. Giving a wink back. "Perhaps you might want to ask the Princess here."

Now he was getting winked at. He wonder what it meant. His was a friendly wink that meant that they knew better about him being in his right mine. He chuckled, as an eyebrow shot up. Then looked at the Princess.

"Ye ded be askin aboot me? Ded I be duin sumthin? I du be innocent. I du be swearin."

He raised his hands like she was the local constable.

"I du be wishin tu be knowin what du be gud tu be eatin."

Dalia looked over at Zeph and her smile widened considerably. "Perhaps, you would care to join me for a fresh garden salad and a glass of milk Zeph. I was going to take it to my room to eat, but seeing as you are here, perhaps I will stay. Unless you would like to join me in my room that is?"

Dalia was quite forward, especially for a woman of her station. But she had no worries. She knew what she was doing and why. And Zeph was so attractive. How could she not be forward with him?

He bowed his head a little to the Princess, remembering some things he had learned. He saw the Princess smile widen, and he smiled back.

"That du be sounded like it du be the perfect thing tu be havin on a day such as this. But please du nae be stayin because of me. Iffen there du be sum thin of import in yer room tu be duin then I du be needin tu be followin ye so that mayhap I du be able tu be helpin. That du be iffen ye du be needin help that be. "

Yep that was Zeph almost clueless to everything around him. But it seemed to him one should not stay if something was important, so he would take her up on her offer and go back to her room with her. After all maybe he could help her and learn new things as well.

She smiled more, his manner of speak was so endearing to her. "Miss Madeline, could you please get Zeph and salad and glass of milk as well, please?" Her eyes never left him and her smile never wained. He had accepted her offer.

"I am sure I can find something that you can help me with dear Zeph. I think I have orifice that needs to be filled." She almost could not believe the words that had come out of her mouth. But she had said them and it was done. Now to simply wait for Madeline so they could go.

He stood there and waited for thier food with her. He smiled back as he listened to her talk. She did have a lovely voice and smile. he heard her say somehting about an orifice. A concerned look crossed his face.

"Du be it botherin ye? I ded be noticin that there du be many a leak in what du be this inn. Mayhap I du be findin a cork or what du be sum other thing that du be tu yer likin tu be stoppin the leak. We du be nae be needin a flood e'erywhere. Iffen we du be gettin it tu be floodin in one area then it du be easier tu be cleanin. Even iffen one du be needin tu be gettin on what du be their hands and knees."

Madeline walked out with there food.Here you two go. This one is on me. Please enjoy. Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to get some shut eye."With that Maddie left to take a break.

She smiled at him again. She found him quite appealing. She loved how innocent he was. Maddie handed them their food and she picked up her tray watching him pick up his. "Shall we be off then Zeph? I am sure you will be quite capable of helping me." She smiled up at him.

They left the bar area and headed to her second floor room. Once they go to her room she fumbled slightly with the key, but got the door open. She stepped inside and held the door for him to enter. She closed it behind him and smiled. She set her tray down on the table and locked the door. "I hope my room is to your liking Zeph." She hoped this would not be his last visit to it either.
