Those Pesky Weeds... Empty Those Pesky Weeds...

Some things in life were a given. No matter how bad the night, the sun will always rise. No matter how high the floods, the water will recede. No matter how severe the break, the bone will heal. And no matter how peaceful the world seems, the man in those deathly tight leathers would return. Well, for the most part. There are some places that he had visited that he will likely never go again. Whether it was because he made a decent enough amount of trouble that it would be so very hard for him to without stirring up demons, or simply he found those places too dull. In any case, there are some places he would return to. This Inn, these gardens, are definitely a place he would find himself once again. Did he have reasons to return? Not really. But the glimpses of good memories would be good enough for him to walk back down that road once he found himself in need of adventure... and trouble.

After a long stent of time away, Marcus had found himself back within the grounds of The Inn. Did he go right up to the main building and to the front desk like a normal patron? Of course not. Far too predictable. Instead, those leather clad legs moved his form back to the winding paths of the gardens. As he walked he couldn't help but smirk a bit. Shifting pack slung over one shoulder of velvet covered shoulder, those coals would look upon the grounds. Sure, some things had changed. The world wouldn't be normal if they didn't. However, as he looked around he could see some hints of the plants and stones that he had planted and moved about during his previous time here. He never did get around to making that pond he talked about. But that was in the past. For now, he was simply looking for a place to stay for a while. Always on the move, he was. For the moment what was important was that he was here, wandering the grounds. Sure, he would eventually be finding himself seeking out a room. But for now, getting himself reacquainted with the place was a higher priority. Maybe even finding a few people. Whether they were new or old, any contact after the long trip would be welcomed.

Out of all the places to hide, under a park bench in the winter time was certainly not the best choice. Not only was the ground cold, but there wasn't a lot of coverage as the luscious plants and grasses were no longer there. It didn't matter how many layers of clothing Donovan wore wore, he was freezing under his rock colored tarp.

He wouldn't have been out here if he had another choice, but he didn't. Donovan had never gotten a room at the place and it would have taken too long to go through the motions. He only needed a place to lay low until the coast was clear and this was last place the lassy would look for him. It was the last place he had thought to go.

His body couldn't take much more of this, he wasn't cut out for this weather. 'Why couldn't this Inn be in a warmer part of this land!'

Over the sound of his teeth chattering he swore that he heard someone walking around. Immediately he thought that he had been made. Cover blown. That's it. Any minute now his tarp would be pulled back and he'd have to lassy number toomanytocount why he never called her back.

But nothing happened. He waited and waited, but there was nothing. For his own peace of mind Donovan pulled back a bit of the tarp and looked out from under the bench. There was someone here, but it wasn't a lassy. It was a guy.

"Psssst!" Donovan whispered. If this guy worked here maybe he could tell him if he had seen anyone.  "Psst! Over here! Over here!"

Marcus loved being outside. Yes, he tended to find most of his work in the more populated areas, but he felt more at ease outdoors away from cold walls. Would he ever consider being a hermit? Well, other than his already existing lifestyle, no. He did consider himself a social butterfly from time to time. Maybe that's why he found himself back here. Though, he would find it rather odd that he was finding this place a bit on the quiet side. A fact that would make a single brow perk a bit as he continued to walk about. That is until he would hear that faint call out to him.

Pausing in his steps, that head would start to turn about, looking around. But, he saw nothing. Frowning, he would spin a bit on feet. Then there it was again! That time he was able to zone in. But the sound was coming from....a rock? No. That rock under the bench just shifted. That's when he would see the face poke out from under looking up at him. Eyes would go wide for a moment before he realized what was going on. "What the hell..."

Chuckling to himself, he would start steps over to the bench. Tilting head from side to side, trying to figure out what he was really looking at. "What are you doing?"

Those Pesky Weeds... Empty Re: Those Pesky Weeds...

He was heard! Glory be, maybe this was a sign that things were finally going to start looking up for him! Donovan wasn't going to get overly excited, not yet. The man had only taken note of him, didn't say anything about helping.

Exposing his face like that let cold air get into his tarp and Donovan shivered. The bad thing is that he couldn't even cover himself back up to keep he cold out. Had to give a bit of respect to the man who heard him, right?  "I says, you haven't been spotting any lassy com'round 'ere?" He asked through teeth that were probe to chattering.  “A fine doorful of a woman she is, but she would talk the teeth out of a saw. My ears are still ringing.”

If only this man was able to block the wind, or better yet be a portable heater.  Wouldn’t that be the charm? Though it may look mighty suspicious to have a heater heating up a rock.

“She’s been tracking me down for three days.  Three days I tell yous,” Donovan started to explain his terrible situation. “Finally I remembered here and grabbed this covering and leap me over the wall.  Been here all night in the cold.”  He paused when he heard a noise, but it was only the sound of the winter birds picking around for what they could find.

Donovan breathed a bit easier.  “Tell me, have you seen ‘round here?”
