Thinkin' again
It was true, what Ryan had said a few nights ago, Gwen rarely was at the TelRanaemyn Inn as of late. The girl often did not even come back to sleep at the Inn, but she did stop by to check to see if anything was going on, or if there had been any messages left for her. She was spreading her wings and going out into the world, the world away from the Inn, where she was surrounded by family, which while she loved her family sometimes it was to much. She knew that they all meant well but it was past the time that she needed to learn to do things on her own.
Today was one of those rare days that she was at the TelRanaemyn Inn, up in her room instead of down in the bar area. She was in her bedroom, unsure if her roommate was in or not, but she was more in a thinking mood then a social mood. Seated on her bed, for she still would not sit in any chairs, thanks Lesson Master, her legs were crossed Indian style. {I know I know I am not politically correct} One hand lifted to fold back the cuff of the white button down shirt she was wearing. If one looked carefully at the back they would see the small stitches she had placed strategically to cover the slits that Archer had put in his shirt for her wings to escape. Thankfully she was on the small side so her wearing his shirt as a dress did not seem to out of place. Even if it did she would of thought nothing of it, the top couple of buttons were undone, she did not like anything to tight against her neck.
It was while she was folding the shirts sleeves cuff that she blinked, looking at the simple band that was around her thumb. It was Leos ring, the one he told her would get her out of a sticky situation if she needed it. She had not taken it off her thumb since that day. When she was mad at Leo it stayed, when she was confused by Leo it stayed, when Leo disappeared it stayed, as it still was in place. Funny how when you wore something for so long that it no longer felt odd but felt like a part of you. Almost as if the item was not there you would feel rather strange. The small weight of the ring no longer made itself known. She wondered if he got her gift she had sent to him, she had not received it back but that didnt mean that he actually had it.
While she was staring at the ring, she had not even realized that her other hand had slipped into the shirts pocket and pulled out a folded up mirror. Lesson Master forgot it again, and until he claimed it back, she did not go anywhere without it. Finger tips brushing lightly over the surface, though she would clean it again later for any finger prints. If anyone asked her why she carried the item she would tell them that way she wouldnt forget to give it back. If anyone could read her body language they might realize it was because she wanted a piece of him around her.
She was not a needy girl, but she did like to have an item of sorts of those she held dear. Like the letter from her Mr. Coat, that was something she would keep for a rather long time. Exhausted from her activities from the day, she curled up on her bed, and promptly fell asleep holding onto said mirror.
